    0.05mm inlet
    0.08mm exhaust
But since this is a pulsar, the tappet clearance increases when the engine becomes hot instead of decreasing so I wouldnt mind keeping the clearance slightly less on my bike

      • Help Pulsar 200ns.

        Hi guys,
I'm Hari ,currently perusing mechanical engineering.I took my first ride ( a black pulsar 200ns ) on 03/07/2014.now i am facing some problem with fuel overflow pipe ( i think ), when i park the bike on side stand and leave it for some time ( with the fuel know on 'ON' ) it starts leaking petrol .
Is this normal if i don't turn the fuel know to 'OFF'. A friend of mine also took a pulsar on the next day,Dual tone blue black. He rode my bike and said that the gears are tight ( gear shifting problem) also his engine had different sound, like a more refined engine.
I'm new to biking,so this might all be just in my head. Please help me put my mind at ease.Click image for larger version

            1. as far as gears are concerned they are because the bike is new i also bought the bike recently and first 10 days the gears are very tight then the gears start to adapt accordingly

            2. i tell you to follow the proper run up of bike as written in your manual this will make your engine to get easy and make your engine and gears last longer and get smoother

            3. as you are saying that your friends engine is more refined you should check you engine oil level and coolant level check that they are ok and as you are telling their is some serious issue with you bike take it to svc as soon as possible because my bike is not leaking the stuff like this and if you run it like this then you can damage your machine and do remember to check engine oil and coolant level never drive bike without engine oil and coolant and also check the color of the engine oil and match it with your friends engine oil color.

            • Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences

People with concerns about changing colour.
First, if you change your bikes colour totally, you need to re register at RTO office, and get the Mentioned colour changed.
If you change bike's colour +Thulla catches you + sees the colour code closely= ₹100-₹1000 or even confiscation of bike= your bike will become 10 year older in just 1 day.
              Solution.
              1. Get colour changed in RC VIA RT0.
              2. Atleast keep a mirage of colour mentioned in your RC .
example- you have yellow ns, you want to make it black, so either opt for design that shows little aura of yellow, or you can also leave little yellow patches as per colouring approach or let the area around tank pad be yellow. Thumb rule is, colour listed in RC ,should be atleast barely visible or flowing with new color, so that you can say, saaar, see red colour is there, I duuno why you're saying uts black, saar, it's new company color.

Congrats for your new bike. The gear shifts will be a bit hard during the initial period. Regarding the refinement, I suspect the AFR tuning.

Not just the gear shifting .... During the first intial period of 200Ns . The NS become heat much faster. This all will be gone after 2500km +

Last day I have slipped out of the road because of pathetic Eurogrip tyres.
I don't have any clue , why bajaj guys fit eurogrip ( Euroslip ) on the 200NS. Even the Zappers are better than this pathetic Eurogrip tyres..

I have been using the Michelin Pilot Street Radials 130/70/17 for 4.5k kms and they are awesome. Grip is awesome in wet and dry conditions. Only downer would be the price, it costed me 5k in bangalore. A cheaper and best alternative is the Tvs att230r it has awesome grip you could also use the same on tracks and know few who have used it on tracks. Disadvantage would be life, I am guessing it could hold upto 15k max.

They are of the stock size and cost half of Michelin's.

I had a very big accident due to eurogrip tyres , they are the worst tyres ever one could even have .

after recovering first thing i have done is changed my tyres , i have bought michellin pilot sporty they are very good i am happy with the grip and price is also fine , its only 3.5k

                                Rised the mirrors
I doubt this mod is going to win any beauty pageants but it's functional.
The mirrors became somewhat more practical.
Here are the aluminum risers I procured from a Chinese Ebay vendor:

                                10mm to 10mm 1x Clockwise 1x Reverse Thread Mirror 3" Risers Extend Adapter G | eBay

I spray-painted them black with some left-over manifold paint.

Now the bike looks like this:
