In the .520 chain pitch, you have Avenger, P220, P200, etc. all having a 14 Teeth sprocket. But you yourself confirmed, that it doesn't fit on Karizma due to different shaft design.
Not sure about Avenger, it had a 39/14 on a .520 pitch few years back so it might fit.

The Ninja 250R has a 45/14 setup and I think it is .520 pitch only, but be very sure before making a purchase decision. About fitting, I'm not sure at all. Try at own's risk.

      • 15T on a P200 i think is good...

got higher speed on the same RPM with 14T...

but i think topspeed is still the same, it's just that your engine RPM is lower but have higher speed...

I own a RTR 180 too.. i hv changed from 14 t front sprocket to 15 t... My weight is around 80 kg and still manage to get 0 to 60 in 3.5 seconds against 4.2 seconds with 14 t.. the change will increase KMPH at lower rpm. if u mostly ride single go for this mod.

I think u did a typing mistake brother. Ur post says tht u incereased the acceleration by overgearing which contradicts the data on the first page. As per my knowledge increasing the front sprocket size increases the top speed and compensates on acceleration. So How can u increase the acceleration by using 15T on a 14 T stock setup..??

And Not to forget my query was about the RTR 160 Efi which has a stock setup of 13T/44T. Im very much happy with my 180's stock gearing though i had tried a 13T front on my 180 the acceleration surely increased and i could pop wheelies even in the 3rd gear. But the mileage had dropped and my bike was resenting to cross 126 kmph with it.

              • I've gotta change my first gen unicorns sprocket which is 14/42 stock. But i'm not getting that sprocket so i thought i'll go for the new gen uni's which is 14/43. Now i wanna know with that 1 tooth in the rear extra how much mileage will reduce nd how much more rpm will my bike run on? Since it will put a little more strain on the engine

your bike will run 1-2kmph less for a given rpm or say it'll run some 100rpm more for the same speed. You may feel no change in usual riding but acceleration will increase slightly & rpm will climb faster.
Mileage: for city conditions it may increase or stay same.
And for highway it may go down by 2-3 kmpl max.

What would you want? Overgearing or undergearing? I mean, do you want to get more acceleration or top end?
Please read the first post of this topic carefully, so that we can suggest a setup based on what you need.

Yes, you're totally right conceptually. But sometimes, overgearing does reduce acceleration times, specially on Sbk's.

Say (for example) the Ninja 650R does 0-80 kmph in 3.5 seconds. But its first gear tops out at 74 kmph. So, to reach 80 kmph you'll have to shift once. This shift to 2nd gear takes away power and drive no matter how quick the shift is...
So if only 0-80 is your focus, its better to overgear it slightly so that it reaches 80 kmph in 1st gear itself, passing through the max power spot once and not shifting at all. (Assumed figures given as example to prove a valid point)

As for RTR 180, maybe it can reach 60 kmph (on console) in 1st gear on 15T sprocket. I think it won't result in such a big improvement (4.2 to 3.5s).

                            • front sprocket query

Guys I want to change my front sprocket from 13T to 14T. I was planning on going for Fiero F2's front sprocket. But i just got confirmed from Fiero owners thread that the F2 also has 13T only.
1.kindly suggest me a front sprocket with 14T which can be a direct fit on my Apache 150..
                              2. Has anyone tried a taller gearing on your Apaches. If so how was the results??.

Honda Stunner has a 14T front sprocket. I do not know if it would be a direct fit or not. Give it a try.
