if you change sprocket then ur will have error on Speedo as the speed is calculated RPM and final gear ratio. so pls make a not of that. if you reduce the number of teeth in rear, ur speedo will show lesser speed that the actual. and if you reduce the teeth on front. it will show more speed than actual. so its a good for light traffic and highways...Originally posted by Honda_CBF View PostMileage will increase with low traffic. But mileage may go down with heavy traffic, as number of gear shifts and accelerate-deaccelerate-cycle increases. Rideability: upshifting point will increase by few 100rpms. For 10kmph you should stick to 1st gear. 20kmph can easily be done in 2nd gear. Upshifting point (for me) from 1st to 2nd is somewhere around 15-18kmph, on a zero degree incline road.sigpic

Need info regarding hero Honda street's chain set. Specially no. Of fitting holes in rear sprocket and length of chain in links. Can anyone help?its great for light traffic & highways. Kinda ok for moderate traffic (feels like riding a big bikeOriginally posted by ATHUL4R View Postso its a good for light traffic and highways...
when ridden in uncle mode) and no go for heavy traffic (for me)

Dont know about other bikes but Pulsar and Duke speedos calcuate speed according to the speed of front wheel. Hence, it will show the correct speed regardless of the spreocket size.Originally posted by sridar1983 View Postif you change sprocket then ur will have error on Speedo as the speed is calculated RPM and final gear ratio. so pls make a not of that. if you reduce the number of teeth in rear, ur speedo will show lesser speed that the actual. and if you reduce the teeth on front. it will show more speed than actual. I have a question here.
The CBR 250's stock tyre is a 140/70. An alternative is the 130/70. Now, will fitting the 130 instead of the 140 undergear or overgear the bike?
The change to a 130 is an artificial reduction in the rear sprocket size due to lesser circumference of the tyre. Therefore, does this translate into higher speeds at lower revs or the other way round?
Some data from the CBR ownership thread, courtesy nsengg:
The 140 would be taller by 14mm which is indicated in my previous post.
The 130 will have to do 518.94 rotations to cover a distance of 1 km. &
the 140 will have to do 507.35 rotations to cover a distance of 1 km.
Hence for the same number of engine revs per time the 130 will be rotating the same but will be covering a lesser distance (It will actually be travelling slower not faster as mentioned by you).
Another way to put it across would be:
Speed=Distance travelled/Time taken
Hence if you intend to cover the same distance in the same time the bike with a 130 will have to rev more as compared to the bike with the 140.

Very long post. But let me put it in short, a 130/70 will undergear your bike by a very slight margin, by less than 10%. It means slightly more acceleration, that's it.Originally posted by icemang View PostI have a question here.

what top speed U got after this mod?Originally posted by rreneav1987 View Postsorry guys.. got a bit confused with the new shifts.. here are the actual read outs before and after sprocketing..
Speeds at 5000RPM with the 40T rear sprocket on my ZMR..
1st Gear - 19kmph
2nd Gear - 29kmph
3rd Gear - 47kmph
4th Gear - 63kmph
5th Gear - 77kmph
Speeds at 5000RPM after changing to 36T rear Sprocket..
1st Gear - 26kmph
2nd Gear - 36kmph
3rd Gear - 55kmph
4th Gear - 71kmph
5th Gear - 86kmph
The Strain on the Engine has reduced and hence on highways.. its gonna be a smooother ride than before
tried Max till 9000RPM in first 3 gears... achieved a pretty decent speed
touched 101kmph at 9000RPM in 3rd gear
yet to touch the top speed..

And which chain U used(p220 or zmr)?
Actually I am also planning to do this mod so seeking help from U?

Hey guys, I have a twister that needs new sprockets. I want to go in for a smaller rear or a larger front sprocket, because I don't use the bike anymore and dad finds it difficult to handle the short geared twister. From what I gather, if I do that then gearing will be slightly longer, with sacrifice in pick up and maybe a better top end. Can anybody suggest a sprocket set for my bike?Don't matter what it is: Touring; Racing; Commuting. All I know is, I belong on the saddle.

World of Sprockets!
I would like to under gear my bike for acceleration. I own a cbr250r it's a great bike but rattles in 18kmph speed in second gear. Which bikes sprockets will be a direct fit and helpful ? I want it to pull smoothly in second gear from 15kmph so that will be easier in traffic.CBR 650F <02/2017>

hi,
my ride is 2011 cbz, it will go 51kmph on 5th gear at 4000rpm,
it vibs a lot while riding on 55~65kmph(my usual range)
but once i tried my friend's unicon having same engine of cbz,it went 60+ on 4000rpm with absolutly no vibs
so i need my cbz to run 60kmph at 4000rpm, please help me.

i think xtremes sprocket ratio is 14/43, so try changing the front sprocket to 15 to over gear it. unicorn's 15T front sprocket should fit.Originally posted by abhisheklalnediya View Posthi,

i think its clear if you refer the above 3 posts
I need more top speed so changing my 14T front sproket to 15 T of unocorn
if you want more accleration, change your 15T front sproket to 14T of cbz.

Just out of curiosity, owners are complaining about the pathetic low end torque of pulsar 200 ns.In specs 200 ns have 18 nm torque, which is pretty respectable comparing other bikes in the segment, but this torque is supplied at high rpms only.
Can we use a bigger rear sprocket to make 200 Ns a better city tool,by making ratios shorter?I understand that it will not bring low rpm torque but at lower speeds one could use better torque.Question is can we use its brother's(Duke's),sprocket on this?If not,any other?
Is there any chance of reduction in reliability?Warranty affected?"Vibes transmitted from crank shaft to frame, then through the bearings of the head stock and into the stem where it meets the triple clamp and into the clip-ons where it is greeted with great pleasure by my hands"-ratfighter mod rtr
