    3) is ambition also .428 pitch
    thanks in advance
    1) pitch can't be lesser. If pitch is different for chain & sprockets, they won't fit each other. Ambition's chain is smaller in total length, not in chain pitch. Chain pitch is .428 only for both bikes, and it should be too.

    2) link adding is not possible in most places, and not recommended too. Only Engineering shops can do such stuff. Link cutting is easier though.

    3) Yes mostly so. But can't say about different editions of Ambition. Check while purchasing.

I suggest you read the first page of my topic to gain more info about Chain sprockets:--> http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/universa...sprockets.html

        • Hello,fellow Xbhpians!

I was looking forward to change the stock sprocket setup of the Bajaj Pulsar 200NS (14:39),to the setup of the Yamaha R15 2.0 (15:47).
I chose the R15 setup because of the 6-hole sprocket mount, and I couldn't find any better replacement(If you guys do know of other replacements please let me know).
Initially I wanted to go for the KTM Duke 200's 14:43 setup, but in the end I realised that it was a 4-hole sprocket mount.
I know this will affect my top end,but that doesn't bother me.

I wanted to know if this would be a direct fit,as I am not sure whether the R15's chain is a .520 chain.

          Please help me out!

          Thank you.

What exactly are you trying to achieve? even if the hole and length of chain matches, it'll be terrible undergearing with 47 teeths at rear, are you sure that the r15 rear has 47 teeths?

              Hello!
I used Sprocket Calculator - the easy motorcycle sprocket and chain calculator ,to calculate the effects of the different sprocket combinations...and I am also changing the front sprocket to 15T,so I feel it will compensate.
(Try the website for your self,I cannot explain it,sorry!)

I actually wanted the NS to be setup similar to the Duke, but because of the different number of mounting holes, the R15 was the closest one that I could think of.
AFAIK,the R15 2.0 has a 47 Rear and 15 Front sprocket, compared to the R15 1.0,which was 42 Rear and 14 Front.(You could even check the front page of this thread under YAMAHA).

PS:I want the bike to be more torquey.

                  I think chain+sprocket is a direct fit.
what you should be looking for similar fitting for sprockets and similar length of chain.
And tyre upgrade is very much possible..

sprocket size is 15T front and 42T rear for dazzlers and for unicorns its 15T front and 42 or 43T (on earlier models) for rear.you just need to confirm installation type/spec. I mean the number of holes on sprockets of dazzler should to similar to unicorn's. if it is similar then its a direct fit. (i think it is).2nd criteria is chain length, if its too long then removing few links will do (but some will say removing links can cause weak spots in chain). if chain is too short, then you would need shorter chain. you can also get good help from dazzler ownership thread..

                        • where every one has gone no news... hmmm
Planning to change my cbz extreme 2011 stock 14t-43t to 15t-42t of unicorn ( diamond kit).
I am not a hard racer or nor trying to become a top speeder. what i need is a good drive with less stress on my engine.
                          1) will it give better milage on 4th - 5th gear with less traffic.
                          2) how is the experience in heavy traffic junctions where at present we can travel in 2nd gear at a speed of 12-18kmph

you may ask that why you didnt go for unicorn. the answer is I like cbz from the begining. The first model was really good. . the latest model really i loved it. Thats why i went for CBZ. But milage is a problem for me.

Mileage will increase with low traffic. But mileage may go down with heavy traffic, as number of gear shifts and accelerate-deaccelerate-cycle increases. Rideability: upshifting point will increase by few 100rpms. For 10kmph you should stick to 1st gear. 20kmph can easily be done in 2nd gear. Upshifting point (for me) from 1st to 2nd is somewhere around 15-18kmph, on a zero degree incline road.

                            • Guys, I wish to share some important info. As we all know, mostly the 40T (Karizma), 39T (P180 UG4), 38T (P200), 37T & 36T (P220 DTSFi & DTSi) rear sprockets are inter compatible for most of the part. When Duke 200 was announced with a 43T .520 rear sprocket, I tried finding out if its inter-compatible with the above group.

Now, Joel K Raju has confirmed (with a Youtube video) that Duke 200's sprocket can be fit on the Pulsar 220 DTSi. But it will severely undergear it, and the bike will not give good 0-60 and 0-100 timings compared to stock sprocket, because of too many gearshifts involved to reach 60 and 100 respectively. Obviously, for a Pulsar 220 owner, the 43T doesn't make much sense.

Can any Duke 200 owner try overgearing his bike with a 39T sprocket, from P180 UG4, just to find out whether it fits or not? This mod should most probably give you some extra top speed, increase your highway range, without making ECU/ Engine changes.

The guy from whom I got the ktm duke 200's sprocket is using pulsar 220f's 36t sprocket on his ktm and its direct fit just the chain needed to be shortend.
For me to fit the 43t in my bike(pulsar 220f) I had to add 2-3 links.

Anyways in duke you have alot of option like the zma sprocket 40t which is direct fit pulsar 180 ug4 sprocket which is 39 the old pulsar 200 which is 38t and the old 220fi which uses 37t and the new 220 which is using 36t.

With pulsar 220s 36t fitted in ktm it will do

                                120 @ 8000rpm
                                135 @ 9000rpm
                                150 @ 10000rpm
But then yeah the acceleration will go down
