    • well guys u know its the summer season going on... so i had a little doubht regarding the engine idling rpm.. well what should be the min idling(cold engine) and the max idling rpm(hot engine)? well my current min is 1k and goes upto a max of 1250... i am finding it difficult to downshift gears especially when the engine is cold... i have to always blip the throttle before downshifting a particular gear.

Should i stick to the manual recommended rpm?? and the rpm should be adjusted when the engine is cold right or when its warm?

Don't worry about it bro, hard gear shifting when engine is cold means it's to do with oil.

Yup,go for it dude, you may not get a better chance than that. The registration of an old bike in your state won't be costly i think, anyway a 18k run bike is still very much a virgin.

              • I rode a lot as well as quite hard today.
                The bike seemed absolutely perfect.
Way too better that ever before.
Can't believe that even after soo much of modding, the bike is peak at reliability.
The revv friendliness is too good, i used to be a hater of loud exhausts, but now i simply love the beats.
Thanks everyone to help me in all possible ways to make me achieve what i did on my fiero.
Giving a lot to a fiero.
Expecting a lot from a fiero.

I am glad buddy, that your engine is performing properly ,finally. If you'd been here in bangalore,i'd have gotten your bike like the way it is, from day one.Anyway, better late than never.

All fieros have a good beat and only a louder exhaust does justice to it.

                            • Hi Guys! My fellow Feroids!!!
I had been quite busy the past week or so and not able to contribute much. Good to see a lot going on here. Had to browse through several pages to get to the end. It’s good to see a lot of humor and free spirited conversations in this forum.
I got my bike serviced on Friday after a long gap.
Things that I got done are:-
                              Changed the clutch plates
Engine oil 1100 ml and oil filter replaced.
Rear shocks adjusted to a harder setting.
Front sox – replaced the leaky oil seal and filled fresh oil ( 160ml) … I wonder how much oil should be filled in the front, because my front mud guard touches the leg guard whenever the bike hits a pot hole. That is the khataaak! sound produced that I have been complaining about. The mech first filled 125 ml and tested the bike. Then he added 25 ml more in each rod. Still the sound was there, then he added more and so on… till he reached 160ml in each of the rods. Well, this has sort of made the shocks harder with more bounce …. Though not too much. But still the sound persists upon hitting bumps and potholes. The mud guard touches the leg guard which has left a rough spot on the black mudguard. Any idea what the problem could be? The mech says there is no need to replace the cone bearing… just adjustments (which he did) will work fine. Help and expert advice required here!!!
I also replaced the spark plug to an NGK CR9E as the CR7E is not to be found.
Other stuff done what any mech will normally do during services.
RESULT – the bike feels more punchy now. Produces a sweet deep note that is good for the ears. Pulls a lot easier. Carries a heavy pillion with ease. Feels good to ride!!! Cheers! … Long live the Fiero legacy and this thread!!!

Sounds good, but looks like your cone set is gone&that is the reason for the sound.
