You can clearly see, ZMR is an all rounder touring machine... Mileage, comfort, LARGE FUEL TANK and a bike which can effortlessly do 100s of kilometere at 80-100Kmph and for which Top speed is not a big thing... why would someone compare RC 200 with ZMR?? RC 200 has racing dna... R15 should be pitted against it.

The same mistake was done by Autocar. Why would he get into racing part when KARIZMA TWINS are SPORTS TOURERs and not "SPORTS BIKE"

i dont think that zmr should be compared with any Indian bike right now.not because it can not but because i dont think any bike has earned that kind of respect and reputation that karizma has ,and clearly after seeing that bike has a top speed of 129 kmhr on paper you can see that the hero guys were not trying to compete with the pulsar 220 or the cbr or any other high segment bike because if they wanted to do that they could have done done that easily i mean just look at the power figures of hx250r ,i mean they are just amazing compared to any other 250cc bike ,they have just pushed the envelope even harder,so that clearly states that they were not trying to compete with the current bikes,what they tried to do was to create an experience an ambiance of the zmr and create the ultimate tourer for which the zmr is known for and give its rider the confidence he needs to triumph the most unlikely situations and just make a bike that is just plain old "good and tough".if you look at the design philosophy of hero and they way they think is very much like apple,in numbers and performance figures they may not be the highest but the experience is certainly the best..and what do the number matter if they don't deliver the experience........

See, the main point is... I am really disappointed by what these review mags/sites do... so, I will stop this nonsense activity of repetitively defending the Karizma Twins. I am pretty sure that our senior bros from the Karizma family must have felt the same(by what I see the trend is against Hero/Hero Honda). All I know is..

I wanted a bike:


2) Definitely a full faired bike
3) Should not fall into the category of Sports/Racing Bike... to convince my father
4) Needs to be a decent tourer if not the best
5) Torque Monster
6) Trusted Engine, trusted manufacturer of ex-bike

All ticks!!! perfect bike FOR ME.... so, you have to ride it, know it, feel it and then buy it... cos all these reviews are giving a false impression

and hey did I miss something...

1) My dream brand karizma

and that will be the final deciding factor if any two competitors are put against each other... no matter how much you convince a die hard pulsar fan to buy something else, he'll buy pulsar... same with us..

I like this. I am a huge fan of Apple and Hero. Both are priced bit higher, deliver better experience, great brand value and reliability.

13) It has the Best and the most readable instrument cluster you can get under 2 lacs.

15) It comes with Imported (made in japan) Enkei alloys (not sure about ZMR but my Friends 2007 karizma ZMA has Enkei alloys)

Guys!! I suppose the headlamps of New ZMR is 35W. Being more of a tourer, the need for a better headlamps is there. So what should be done to put a 55W bulb with projectors.

Is the battery 7AH or 9Ah. The hero website says it is 7Ah. But i remember reading somewhere that its 9Ah. Whats the exact spec of battery. Should it be changed for putting a 55W bulb.

I do agree with you on the looks department. It looks absolutely stunning in person. It grabs attention alot. Because of its unorthodox looks. Its fast. Atleast when a 3 rd person sees it. Now it may not be the segment best or may lag on some department. But considering most towns and small cities in India do not critically judge a bike based on different parameters, it makes a certain attitude statement. I am now in Balasore , Orissa , and have seen a good number of new Zma in the town. And the riders seem to enjoy all the attention the bike generates.

Story of my first bike part 1

Last year when I passed B.Com my father asked me what I want and I said geared bike(old karizma r was in my mind); but he immediately laughed and argued saying scooty . We had lot of argument on this, finally I settled with branded laptop:banghead:. An out of league deal. While purchasing the laptop he said he ain't gonna buy the sports bike (then I didn't knew much about karizma twins neither he). So after that my M.com college was 10 kms away from my home and had lot of walking apart from bus service near my village. 6 months ago it shifted deep inside the city so few more extra kms. So he told me if I need scooty and I said I will burn it if u purchase another ladies bike which my mom had(I hate scooty). That day we had ww3 at our home and he said that he won't be giving me any bike in my life and I challenged him that one day he will. Now there are many special rickshaw service near our college but I purposefully used to go by walking from the bus stop in order to show my mom that I want a real bike and manytimes not used to go for college cause of no bike.

Finally he got pity on my situation and he asked me in this early july that was I going to attend college 100○/○ and I said those daily walking hurts my legs, we had a lot chit chat at that day. He finally agreed to give me a real mans bike . But he was constantly asking which bike and I purposefully didn't told him the name. I said lets go to showroom
We went to the authorized showroom in last day of July and there I told him the zmr (I was tracking zmr from October 2013 and she earned a special place in my heart) he thought I was going to ask this for new extreme. I took the sales executive by my side and told him to explain everything about zmr except not to utter any word of cc and weight unless and unless he asks. I said that if u don't impress him well he will not come next time. So the sales executive started the presentation and when all of the explanation was over he suddenly asked three things ; its type; cc & weight and all of a sudden it became hell, he scolded me badly for it and took me home immediately.

So it was a bad day; and to show how angry and sad was I I didn't eat conservative four meals from the following day night and went to colg the next day of the agreement and came late than the usual time. My mom was worried the most, she and my dad had lot of argument on that day, finally he agreed to get me what I wanted (my anger was real and not acting) but he gave a choice before booking he said that let's go for family car under 2 lacs (nano ) and you can drive her to college everyday or ur bike and he weighting on car side so that I may change my mind and I laughed I said if I was hungry for four wheeler I would have asked the movement I turned 18 and not the bike. I explained that luxury can be enjoyed in later part of my life but fun is young, you can't have the same level of it once you turn old, if you want nano you can have it and I won't even touch her but please don't say no to Karizma .

He finally agreed but lecture before it that: wear helmet; go slow; strictly follow instructions of road; no late biking and no highway or else he will sell it the movement he hears the rumors blah blah........and I nodded. Finally we booked the red color and got my first bike on 29 of august .

There is another story my bike, of how I faced problem after booking and extra money they were asking for color red, someday I will tell about it
