Re: Hero Karizma ZMR (2014 version)
Hello All.. So i took the delivery of my bike on Friday and have ridden arrox 50kms. (2 pics posted on my "what bike" query thread.)
Just yesterday i faced this
Luckily for me this happened right outside my house, otherwise i would have been left stranded. The nut/bolt just fell off somewhere within 50kms of riding. The gear lever fell off and is just hanging. I have called the Dealer (Prakash Motors) and asked them to come to my place and fix this. Lets see how quick they are, otherwise i am thinking of escalating this. Will give them a day.
Also, everyone seems to be finding "Fanny", while i seem to be trying to find "Neutral" on my bike.. :P I have got Neutral only about 2-3 times in my 50kms riding. I am hoping the neutral issue will be solved after this. Just wanted to check if finding neutral on a new bike is this hard. Thanks in Advance.
Regards,
Amar

Hey congrats on your bike.
The gear level fall happens when a small nut(don't remember the size) gets detacthed. don't worry about this problem. I had this problem one the day one when i got my zma and once after 10,000kms. i always have a spare nut with me. you can get it tightened yourself.
regarding neutral problem, this should go away after first service or a oil change. do not expect to find neutrals like 100cc bike. false neutrals, chain sounds are karizma signature. I tried finding neutrals in my zma. i would be able to do it only 3/10 out of ten times. i have developed the a habit of starting it in first gear and starting with clucth. i guess clucth starts increase self motor life and batter life. this is what a service centre mech said. experts correct me if i'm wrong

but its a kind of embarrassing, when our new bike has got this type of silly faults. As hero is good in Quality , they should concentrate more on 'Fit and Finish'. This is one area where they lacks a bit. we cant tolerate this type of issues from the Worlds Largest Motorcycle Company.
Yamaha is better than hero when comes fit and finish....!!!
Neutral issue mostly get solved with each service. so no need to worry. finish your break in properly and keep your bike healthy.

Way to go buddy!!! welcome to the Karizma Family... and sad that such incident happened... do lodge a complaint with HMC regarding that incident. Also I can count on my fingers the no. times I have found neutral!!!
. I have come to terms with it.... also I sometimes hit false neutrals (I am not sure whether it's my fault or the bike's) esp. when I am "kinda" showing off!!
. Regarding chains sound - yes! open chain asks for regular maintenance. I used to get it oiled every 2 weeks or 1000 Kms whichever is earlier. I realized that I need to do it more frequently almost every week. Hence bought a Motul Chain lube spray. It's costly, but easy for beginers. And trust me mann the bike runs like makhkhan!!! - Asli butter Amull butter types!!

Today I went for the registration of my bike. During the inspection, the Police officer asked me to trace the chassis no. on the Form 20.

It's inscribed under the handle bars... I tried a lot, was able to trace 1/3rd part, then I gave up. The cop looked at me with a "Poor guy, leave it alone" face and ACCEPTED it...

... I wonder why can't the manufactures change the position of the inscription???

In my case, it depends.Originally posted by srikanth kvnap View PostI can count on my fingers the no. times I have found neutral!!!

Gear 1 - half upshift to neutral = 50-60% success rate.
Gear 2 - half downshift to neutral = >90% success rate.
False neutrals = vary rare but most of the times I end up embarrassing myself because I so wanted to rev hard when there were chicks around and the damn thing would just go GHONNNNNNN and I'd stay where I was!

LoL.. I thought I was the only Ahole making such stupid false neutral mistakes in front of chicks.. looks like there is another Ahole.. the shifting would be normal and perfect.. When there is a chick and you want to show off.. thats when the darn bike makes me get disappointed.. I just rush away from the spotOriginally posted by Divya Sharan View PostIn my case, it depends.

Congrats on your new bike.. this incident reminds me of when I got delivery of my P180 back in 2006.. UG3 from the first slot in Adyar, Chennai.. me and my took out the bike and we constantly heard some knocking sound. when gave our ears closely to listen to it, we found that a loose bolt to which the disc sits was hitting the fork.. we had to take it back immediately and get it rectified..Originally posted by amar.yashpal View PostHello All.. Re: Hero Karizma ZMR (2014 version)
But, I always keep hearing the same thing - change gears with clutch fully pressed. Also some say that neutral should be applied only when the bike is stationary.Originally posted by SatSon View PostI just release the clutch to the spot where the bike will just start to move and simultaneously move the shfter from 1st to neutral.
This works for me

I am doing this when bike is stationary.
You don't have to keep clutch fully depressed when shifting to neutral.
But keep accelerator fully closed and give slight pull on the lever upwards. It needs a bit of practice

Re: Hero Karizma ZMR (2014 version)
also added to what SatSon said, move the bike slightly front and back, you will find neutral easily. this si common for all bikes.Originally posted by srikanth kvnap View PostBut, I always keep hearing the same thing - change gears with clutch fully pressed.
