friend see my toothless exhaust this is normal?ASC guys told this normal due to heat

i think for two consecutive service oil should be changed.

for the silencer, afaik this is not normal. did you try other ASC...?? check in southerauto.

    A small analysis:

    FZ carb version fuel cost per 6000kms = 6000/38(fuel efficiency)= 157 ltr x 70rs= 11052
    FZ fuel injected version fuel cost per 6000kms = 6000/45(fuel efficiency)= 133 ltr x 70rs= 9333

Difference between their fuel cost= 11052-9333= 1718 where as FZ fi owner will pay 2500 after every 6000kms which means running cost of fuel injected FZ in real world will be more than carb version.

how much hero charge for cleaning ZMR's fi system...??
when comes maintenance cost, carb is better. but this amount for fz seems to be much higher. and also i never heard this type of frequent maintenance in ZMR. maybe thats why PGM-FI stands out

Technology definitely comes with a cost me...

      See, the advantages
      1) Fuel efficiency (look it separately, don't mix with maintenance)
      2) Better throttle response... u'll see the difference in heavy traffic
      3) Seasons/Weather/altitudes doesn't matter... ur ride stays smooth...also no starting troubles.
      4) I have heard about lower emissions too

Ask for an oil change every 2k kms irrespective of the service number (as in 2nd, 3rd etc). Regarding the exhaust shield, yours is a new ZMA right? It's not very often seen even in older bikes. Where do you stay? A sand paper treatment may be imminent and an easy DIY.

Yep. They didn't charge anything. It was a free service. Had gotten my chain lubed, they charged only for that. That fellow emptied the tank and drained 200 ml of water apparently. and dried the fuel pump using compressed air.

You can argue with them for one, but as per my recent experience, slow moving parts are hardly in stock!

One need not mix fuel efficiency with maintenance, but it definitely figures in Total Cost of Ownership. In that sense, not only you pay more upfront for the Fi bike, but you also keep paying more should you care about good maintenance.

I have no idea of the throttle response

What about starting in really cold weather ? The older version has a kickstart to get things moving even if the batter is dead...

Lower emissions hardly matters for the end user ntil the govt bans a specific vehicle.

I have considered both the old and new Fazers, and decided to go with the old one. Purchasing by end of this month.

                      .

Cold weather - ask ZMR tourers who get Leh'ed... Zimmer's FI excells in those cold and high altitude conditions.

Have u seen a Kick rod on a fully faired bike? and I can't see why Kick does really matter in cold days? CHOKE is what you want even in carb fitted bike.
Dead battery is an issue not an circumstance factor, just like a fused head lamp or broken chain... u have to get it repaired immediately... u don't want to have a kick rod to drive for a month or two with your dead battery. What would u do in a CAR when ur battery is dead??

Yes, Emission doesn't matter to the end user (although it matters indirectly and hence we should encourage such technology). But that's one reason Yamaha's blue core technology is talked about so much these days.... anyways I am not sure whether FI really controls emission... hence enough said about this point.

In the End all that matters is - money YOU ARE WILLING TO INVEST. I think PGM-FI is VFM technology!!!

Ok, quick question to the ZMR owners - Any info on availability of cases/touring saddlebags or top cases for the new ZMR? As a sport tourer, the "touring" side of it would be really well served with availability of some lockable bags.

If nothing, I guess one can always bungee-on some strong bags packed with luggage.

Thanks in advice on any info on the above! Cheers. Ride on.

Guys, I found out that tyre hugger I had seen earlier. It's R15 V2's hugger. It certainly looks cool, way better than the HMC one.

It is a direct fit for our ZMRs and ZMAs.

And this looks apt for the slim rear unlike NS's fat tyre hugger although it's personal choice
