No, it will not be "vanished". They are going to introduce ECSTAR line of [in-house] engine oils and FS Idemitsu oil and "probably" phase out Motul products in the next 1-2 years.

The bike comes pre-filled with Motul 10w40 Mineral oil from factory. Its advisable to use a Mineral oil up till atleast 3rd service for the running-in phase.

Idemitsu that is stocked in SVCs across the country is a Semi Synthetic oil.

I just found that my rear tyre is punctured at 12 different spots. I have got it fixed and applied some kind liquid from inside for insulation. But it feels quite risky to ride with that tyre. Can I get new tyre in warranty or at reduced cost?

I think the bike comes empty and the dealer has to fill the engine oil during PDI (That is how it was for the GS). They might be instructed to fill up Motul during PDI and if they don't have it, some cheaper alternative like Suzuki Castrol 20W-40 might go in.

2nd link: as stated, different manufacturers have different ways and hence it cannot be generalized.

My bike came pre-filled with Oil. I witnessed the unloading of the bike along with SVC PDI. Also 20w40 is not the recommended grade for teh GSX150 hence it will not be used.

If any other GSX150 owner noticed anything differently, let us know.

I don't know about other brands but the Gixxer (I got from an Authorised and Suzuki Website listed dealer not a Sub-Dealer that may have messed with a bike) in Suzuki's case comes pre filled with Motul Engine Oil "As confirmed by the dealership themselves" and pre lubed chain from Factory. The lubing on the chain is hardly noticeable because they use chain wax which is far superior than lubricants and hence they look dry. Good dealerships hardly tinker with the factory condition of the bike except very few stuffs. They wash the bike after offloading from the lorry and before storing it up on their warehouse. They might install an indicator buzzer upon customer request. And sometimes, mirrors / stickering are attached on the Dealer end as I have noticed few times. If in doubt, its best to book the motorcycle in advance, but not buying it and asking them for their next set of delivery. Be there before they unload the lot and pick your machine on the spot right there before they lay their hands on it. But this depends. This works only if the warehouse is attached to the showroom which it was in my case. Sometimes they are a little far and hence you can insist on going there personally and picking the one you want.

That Wax is definitely some solid stuff. Its a hassle to apply yourself but once its on there, its quality is definitely better than liquid lubes.
Mirrors are always attached at SVC level.
Indeed, its always best to look for a dealership that has its warehouse nearby.

You stayed with your bike during the services, no? Did they actually remove the clutch cover and clean the oil strainer or gave those a pass? Also did they tighten the chassis nuts/bolts, engine mounting nuts/bolts in the first service?

I'll be touring solo starting 29th of September till 2nd of October. Itineraries as below:

1. 29th, September: Gurgaon -> Reach Ponta Sahib.
2. 30th, September: Poanta Sahib -> Chakrata -> Poanta Sahib.
3. 1st, October: Poanta Sahib -> Kandaghat (On way to Shimla)
4. 2nd, October: Kandaghat -> Gurgaon

Overall tentative km to be covered: 1000 km approx.

Preparation so far:

1. Triton X2 saddle back - check. Got it from Karol Bag, no bargain
2. Motul 7100 (10W40) oil - check. Amazon, fair deal
3. Chain clean and lube - check. Utilize from stock
4. Helmet, Gloves, Jacket - check. Own it already
5. Mobile holder - un-check (suggestion welcome)
6. Spark plug - un-check, will buy from showroom

Any special inputs on mountain rides are welcome.

Will keep this a travel log.

Yes, for both Oil strainer and tightening, unfortunately you have to TELL them to do that otherwise they will skip that. I have already brought this to the attention of the AM and RM for my SVC. Hopefully it gets sorted out.

But from what I noticed during a couple of visits to teh SVC from that day on, it seems the SVC is still skipping those service points.

TBH, I am not bothered since its not my bike they are missing it out on. I might sound a little selfish here but thats how it is in India. If you are not Knowledgeable on the stuff regarding your own bike then its very easy to get cheated on. (And yes, SVC purposely missing out on service points basically amounts to Cheating the customer)

Goodluck on your adventure. Not a tourer here but as far as Mobile Holder goes you can either go for RAM mount(expensive ~ 4k INR) or Rynox Croc mount (~1k INR)

The difference is RAM mount is just a strong holder. The rynox mount is a holder with a casing and transparent screen so your phone is protected from Weather elements as well. However I am not sure about the touch sensitivity through the Case screen on the Croc mount

Hello everyone. I have an oct 2015 fz-fi run 10k km. Recently discovered rust inside fuel tank. The bike has always been fueled at reputed petrol pumps and is extremely well maintained.

I went to the local Yamaha dealer and he suggested some product from their spares dept. which is to be put in the fuel tank. It doesn't involve removal of fuel tank. Anyone aware of this product? Also wont the rust end up in the fuel injector? Should i go ahead with this?

I also happen to have an extended warranty. Is the fuel tank covered under it? Didnt tell the showroom guy about it as i wanted to confirm first so as to avoid being lied to.

Is rust in fuel tank a common occurrence? How concerned should i be. A local mechanic suggested its not a big deal and that i can continue with it. I would appreciate if you guys could check your fuel tank as well.

How much does a new tank cost? Is it worth going for a replacement if the above two options are not feasible?

I would recommend you to wait for a reply in your own bike's thread. You are aware that the 2 bikes dont share the same fuel tank right? So far I havent come across any Gixxer owner complaining about Rust issue in their fuel tanks so I doubt you are going to get any reliable answer here.

Generally speaking: No, rust in fuel tank is not common, its very rare actually. Yes you should be concerned. Whether or not your tank is under warranty is for you to find out. It should be in your owners manual. The cost of your tank is also for you to find out.

If your SVC recommended to use something from their consumables department then you should probably listen to them. Go check out what that product is that they are referring to and then act accordingly

The product at svc seems to be the one used in the above thread. Only concern is that the mechanic told me that removal of tank was not required.

If this mechanic you are talking about is someone outside the SVC, then I am not going to say anything. If you want peace of mind go to the SVC and let them do the ANti-rust treatment. If anything happens post treatment it will be their responsibility.

P.S: You cannot post in any thread just because it looks active. Bike specific threads were made for a reason. Like I said before, till now I have not come across any incident involving tank rusting with the Gixxer, so you wont be getting any reliable answer from Gixxer owners.
