Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
The above-mentioned issue is a classic air in brake line issue. The only other time this happens if the pads or worn out or the callipers are kaput. Bleed the line refill and check ..15 min job. Initially the brakes will be spongy but in 15 min of usage "testing" it should start giving firm feedback. If there is another solution do let us know. Tried bleeding many times but didn't work out. There are only few rcs which have this defect. The best is to bleed first and if it doesn't work ask the svc guys to replace the break lever assembly which comes with the reservoir and check caliper pistons. Mine had this issue from day one and I thought RC brakes are like this but after my crash I tested out other rcs and knew that this was a defect on my RC.
After replacement it's been a week and am very happy with the brakes.

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
Unfortunately had a crash today. Autorickshaw jumped a red light. I was turning. The handlebar got swerved to the left. Bike fell on the right with the wheel turned towards left.
Damages:
Right mirror scratched
Handlebar bent
Side fairing scratched slightly
Belly pan paint scruffed
Rear brake bent inwards. Cant be operated
Front brake lever alignment screwed up. I have to press much more.
Tank slightly scratched
I can claim insurance, right? I am planning to visit the service centre tomorrow.

That is a nasty crash.. yes you should claim and depending upon the insurance company and svc center you can have a cashless claim. No replacement for an engine Displacement

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
Hi everyone,
1) I wanted to know the on-road prices for Delhi/ Noida. The Sector -18 Noida showroom quoted 2.45l. How is it in Delhi? I wanted to check the CP showroom but couldn't. I will buy it by next month. But wanted to make sure I get the best deal in Delhi-NCR.
2) In 2016 models of Rc 390 is the update just side mounted exhausts with slipper clutch or just slipper clutch for India? Noida showroom guy told me its just slipper clutch and I couldn't see any side mounted rc390s there.
3) Where do I get frame sliders/ Crash protectors from? This looks good to me -
4) Also any suggestions for stores to buy Helmets - good quality ones like HJC etc (6-7k price range) in NCR region?
Thanks.Last edited by Divya Sharan; 06-13-2016, 05:18 PM.sigpic

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
depending on what parts you replace, (cosmetic vs functional) it might be wise to not claim insurance if the amount is small (say under 4k)Originally posted by SpeedyKol View PostUnfortunately had a crash today. you could get the levers, handle bar replaced for much lesser.. the rest seems minor cosmetic stuff that could be touched up.

The on road price in delhi is around 2.39l. The difference is due to state taxesOriginally posted by Rattletop View PostHi everyone,

Side mounted exhaust is for European model only.

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
ohhhh. . . . I so wish this is the new superduke and not the 390 because I want the superduke to be made in india to get an affordable super naked (and partially because I purchased the duke this year only)Originally posted by arjun001rao View PostOne of the member uploaded this pic in fb
(Note to self- Stay loyal with your current duke, new one is likely to have major machine issues and will probably cost 20k more)
But, all jokes apart, if this is what the duke 390 would look like, I can't wait to see what wizardry KTM will pull with the 2017 superduke.Busy finding peace

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
Anyone here has pirelli diablo rosso's on their RC? My rear Metz ran out at around 10k kms. And I swapped it with Michelins Pilot Street Radial's which are comparatively good grip. So for the front I'd thought I'd replace with the same, but then I saw the rosso 2's on a shop I went to and so I did my usual google research and heard it had better dry grip than Michelin's. Any advice on this?

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
I have seen rosso 2 on my friend's duke 390 it's good and it's better than michelins but life is less than michelins, but you ran out metz quite early it can easily last 14-15k kms.Originally posted by rondy_610 View PostAnyone here has pirelli diablo rosso's on their RC? My ?

How is the Michelin Pilot Street radial? My rear Metzeler is wearing out, I've done about 12.5K. I've heard a few people say the Michelin slips even with a small lean. Is this true?Originally posted by rondy_610 View PostAnyone here has pirelli diablo rosso's on their RC? My rear Metz ran out at around 10k kms. Metzelers are not for me, I don't do any track days, just commutes and weekend rides.
Pirelli Diablo Rosso II(Rs 7200) and Michelin Pilot Street Radial(Rs. 5600) are my options.
I'm not sure if the Pirellis are worth the extra 1600. Can someone please recommend a tire?
Thank You.

As far as i know the Michelin are good but there is noise from the tire (from air between the tire) if you are coming from Metzeler you will definately notice but these can be used on both on the road as well as offroad not serious one though. If money in not a constrains why not stick to the Metz or else pick the Michelin but no more lean angles as used to be on MetzNo replacement for an engine Displacement

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
For your use case, the michelin's would be good. If possible try to get hold of the mrf revz C1's , they are cheaper than the Michelin and should be good enough too (i find that the mrf's are actually a bit softer than the michelins and are more susceptible to punctures.)Originally posted by thrustrev View PostHow is the Michelin Pilot Street radial? And no, the michelin's do not slip on leaning!! they are good enough for the regular corners/ghat sections that you'd probably encounter on everyday riding/touring. and they would last you a tad longer than even the mrfs! the ride comfort on the michelin feels better than the mrf.
i've used the mrf's for around 14k km and the michelin now for around 7k, and this is based on my observations on my D200.Last edited by s1d; 06-13-2016, 11:19 PM.
