The battery space cover on the front side of the petrol tank is vibrating like hell on my RC390. Could not fix it with anything, neither service center. Has anyone done anything which helped?

This is the only fix that seems to work. Did it on a friends RC390 and it works!

After reading about guys getting punctures in their Metzelars, i figured i ought to share my experience. It's been 11.5k km on my first set of Metzelars and not a single puncture yet! My bike riding experience is largely limited to the two R15s i owned in the past, so i can only compare with the MRF tires on those. Traction & grip is far superior (even on the supposedly "less grippy" H rated tires)... more than enough for spirited street riding. Wet grip is stunning too, as i discovered on the one or two rare occasions that i got fooled by the weather forecast. Another thing i find unusual is that in spite of a few gashes and cuts, they don't seem to lose much pressure, ever after 11.5k km - no more than 1-2 psi per month, which is amazing! These are better than the MRFs in every way except maybe feedback (they seem to have a fairly stiff carcass and flexible sidewall?). You can't feel the road texture in the same way... doesn't really matter in practice but it did take me a while to get used to. I have already purchased a new set for Rs 10k from Amazon (44th week 2015), hoping to get 'em replaced this week. Overall, i am very pleased with these tires.

          Hey guys,
I've got a 2016 rc 390 and had a few issues with the pickup and top speed of my bike, it was later found out that it was because of a worn out clutch plate. I recently got the engine's gaskets changed due to oil leakage. The problem was solved, I have a doubt that these people fit the ecu of a 200 on my bike as the top speed reduce to below 140 kmph. Is it possible to swap the ecu like that ? And how do I find out? The bike is now at the service centre waiting for the new clutch plate to be installed. Please help me out.
          Cheers,
          Ady

The Duke 200 and the Duke 390 use different ECU if my memory serves me right. The 390 includes ABS which has different wiring setup compared to the Duke 200, be it RC or naked counterpart. So, ECU swapping wouldn't be feasible.

            Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
            The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Both the ECU's are different so there is no chance of swapping them. Do check your RPM also, like in 6th gear with full throttle what is the max RPM you are achieving? Do you feel the hit back by RPM limiter in every gear? If yes, what RPM do you see in the console during that hit?

PS: I am not encouraging any reckless riding during top speed check, please find a safe road to do that.

                Hey dude,
Thanks for the reply, I checked with ktm they say that it'll take a while for the pressure plates to get set to get the engine braking back to normal and I haven't tried hitting the revv limiter yet as I haven't got a chance to take her to the highway. I'll be going on a ride on Sunday so I'll check it out. Also I ride safe with all my riding gear and go full throttle only when the roads are empty.
                Cheers,

Hii guys hope u all are fine and enjoying life..... My question is i am going out of town for about 4 months and my Motorbike will remain idle for these months, will there be any problem with the engine or some other part if it remains idle for 4 months?

If you can't have someone to just crank it up and let it idle for some time, I'd suggest you remove the battery and keep the bike in a cover..

I was on my way to home while I was cruising on highway all of a sudden bike started to fish tail somehow I got the balance and parked my bike and saw what happened to my surprise the tyre was flat... Damaged on side walls,i wonder what happened all of a sudden. Bike is 1.5 years old and ran 11k kms.

I've attached a pic where I did some jugad to run my bike till I reach home. Now my question is will it covered under warranty or is it possible to claim under insurance?

If you have someone to crank it up, nothing is better than that. And yes no need to the battery if you have someone.
Just keep petrol and a minute or two idle every alternate day would be better.

Can be done after every 3-4 days also for 2-3 minutes.

Oh man. How the hell in world can his happen. Good that you are safe.
Also how did you managed to reached home?

                            For tyre :
No bro! Wearable parts like tyre is not under bike warranty and insurance claim.
However, tyres does have their own warranty.
But it will be useful only if you get a Metzeler again.

See these Metzeler's have a lifespan of around 11-13k km and you are already on 11k so chances of anything done is hard. But the way you go and talk to them, tell them how dangerous it was and how you have survived might get you the deal. [emoji28][emoji55]

                            Deal :
Ceat is Metzeler's house in India.
So get to your svc, get phone number and address for the person whom you should contact.
The basic deal they provide is, they will take your tyre, calculate how much "mm" of life is left in your tyre and offer you that much discount on your next metzeler.
                            Easy Peasy!

But! A new metzeler tyre has just life / rubber thickness of 3mm (normal tyre's have about 6-7mm). So I guess there is hardly any thickness left in your tyre at 11k km (my rear Metzeler was showing its wires at 11k [emoji23]).

have you checked tyre every week? closely?
my metz started showing internal steel wires at 10k kms and i have only choice to replace it immediately
you won't get insurance for tyre

Thanks for the inputs bro.. Metz is a great tyre no doubt but it isn't practical on Indian roads. I use to maintain proper psi every time I fuel up, I really have no idea how it went wrong. However will get michelin for now as I won't be hitting track anytime soon.
