Guys... I recently got my Rs.. The engine works like a charm after 5k rpm.. Overtakings are really easy.. And for beginners it's an excellent bike... Coming to my point, the bike I got had its mirrors replaced by some fancy mirrors... He said the old ones got broken.. Whatever the thing is its too narrow to see the surroundings.. And when the bike is on the run it vibrates like shit... And I can't see a thing.. I tried to put some rubber washers in between the mirror and 3m tape between the fairing gaps.. Also isn't 3m too thin? Someone please tell me about the mirror issues.. Would stock mirrors get rid of this issue completely.. I don't wanna spend 1.2k for no reason.. Please help me out..

Try to get the stock mirrors, that will solve the issue.Originally posted by xmoose View PostGuys... I recently got my Rs.. The engine works like a charm after 5k rpm.. Overtakings are really easy.. You can even use CBR250 stock mirrors, they are direct fit, i have seen many RS with that mirror.
Since you are planning to get the mirrors, i would sugesst you to get the clutch lever and brake lever holder of 200NS, which has mirror fixing point on it, getting some aftermarket fancy yet functional mirrors can do the job, or the same one from 200ns, mirros on handle bar make realy big difference while riding in traffic.
Cheers.

One thing you can do is go to the SS that was used by the previous owner and get all the details of services/part changes/issues from there. The service intervals can also be found in their records. My bike is serviced at Bajaj Sai Service and all my records are there. They even call me when a service is due. Possible only with detailed record keeping.Originally posted by xmoose View PostHey guys... I got a used rs 200abs..18k odo for 1lac.. The thing is the service book is not up to date...so I have no idea what all stuff are done and what's not.. Also.. There is coolant leak... I tried to figure out where the coolant leak might be.. But I couldn't find it because of the fairing.. Any thoughts on where and why this could this be happening.. And any solutions for the mirror vibrations.. I totally depend on the mirrors and the vibrations are making it impossible to see the sides.. Thank y'all..Last edited by rachitsharma2000; 01-31-2017, 12:53 PM.Riding a bike is like flying.... Note - It was 5 year old reference shared-not related to RSOriginally posted by eliksir View PostYou had a fatal accident?
Fatal in the sense just disastrous.
Last means last accident faced since then I am very cautious on road.
In 4 way crossing- Dumper without number plate/ light went over my scooter & fled away,
Even I admit it was equal mistake of mine going in speed over highway crossing .
wrist had fracture, leg was injured which recovered, bruises on hand ,torn cloths- I had half face helmet snug fit so head was fine.
All the damage was sustained by scooter somehow we managed to source parts like chassis from elsewhere to get it running back.
Henceforth, I had changed my riding habit, started taking traffic rules seriously , added jacket ,gloves & riding boots along with full face helmet in my gears.
People used to stare like alien on signals looking at geared person on scooter but I didn't gave a damn.
Anyway, please don't revert as it will be off-topic,
we have to stick to this RS related thread only-
Service Update:
My chain has started making noise since I got the bike serviced I had told them to tighten a bit & they over-tightened.
Now after loosening-up again, the chain is still making sound & some links have became hard, earlier chain was little loose but perfectly fine .
I had maintained chain with periodic cleaning & lubing. Seems I will have to change it but now from outside mechanic, don't know if the SVC mechanics acts are intentional.
Anyone changed fork oil what should be the indication /odo for replacement.Manual doesn't even mention it,why? (Asking because I feel degradation in ride quality over an year)

Adding a 10-15ml more will can reduce the bottoming out and nose dive.
And if getting replacing chain, get the ROLON from spare parts/ accessories shops and get it done outside by a local mechanic.

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Yes you can improve the acceleration by using a bigger sprocket at rear or a smaller at the front, changing the front sprocket is easier, at the same time can cause speedo error.Originally posted by Sharma Ji View PostHello everyone,

Try a 13T sprocket at front, it will improve the acceleration.
(Karizma has a 13T at front and has same chain pitch, i heard that its a direct fit.
( I did some research for improving the acceleration, so got know this)
Cheers

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
The fork oil should be changed every 10k KMs or 1 year. Surprisingly it hasn't been mentioned in the manual. But saw the same mentioned in NS200 manual.Originally posted by Hiteshb View Post

Most mechanics in the SS will tell the customer to change only when the oil starts leaking.
Best bet is to change it every 10-15k KMs or if it's done over a year.---

Interesting that you mentioned this. The current 200NS manual also seem to NOT mention the fork oil change interval. Compared to the Rev 1 (May '12) version, notable changes include:Originally posted by santosh.k View PostThe fork oil should be changed every 10k KMs or 1 year. Best bet is to change it every 10-15k KMs or if it's done over a year.
- Engine oil change interval is now every 5,000km regardless of engine oil, instead of previously 10,000km if using Bajaj DTSi oil.
- Tappet clearance check and adjustment is now more reasonable at 15,000km interval instead of every 5,000km.
- 20W50 API 'SJ' oil now seem to be acceptable (previously API 'SL' or JASO MA).
- Spark plugs replacement interval extended to 30,000km (from 20,000km).
- Fork oil and seal replacement intervals have been removed.

With regards to your tire query, I believe you are referring to Michelin Pilot Street? That tire has got pretty good reviews - go Google it up. Main challenge lies in whether you can get it from near where you live.Last edited by sgbikerboy; 02-01-2017, 02:20 PM.
