I have tried it twice before converting my bike to full DC but failed on both occasions. The possible reason is that it was connected to the regulated AC from the RR.
Connect it to battery to get pure DC as power supply and check the polarity too. Though not shown on the packet, I think, each of it consumes 1.4 watts.
Remember to select 12 volt LEDs as 24 volt one also are available.

Before & after converting to full DC, I'm using those type of LED's in my bike.,. No failure happened., Still using the same pair...

In AC it'll not have polarity issues,.where as in DC we need to check it and reverse the connection if needed...

You may be correct and the burning out of my LEDs may be due to some other reasons.
Anyway, now I am using the stock bulbs.

2 pcs. T10 5 SMD 5050 LED Bulb 12 Volt DC Indicator, Parking, Pure White Light | eBay

hi just saw your post and the ebay link as well, earlier i used the same exact type of led they are not good and tend to blow off sooner.

before using them my bike pilot lamps are connected to DC power

more over on the leds the backside power connecting pin (open type metal wire is very thin and low quality tend to break)

go to local market and check for a good led

          ...................

oil my policy is to change oil at around 2500 kms or if not driving regularly then 2.5 months once

the latest finding is god particle and their is no such thing called god oil which lasts forever even if the oil lasts the bike will die.

my bike is 2 + years old and 14 k on odo
currently using Castrol SS oil 15w 40

          • AFAIK LED's can emit Light on AC as well as DC power
Only thing that affects its durability is LED needs a constant current source, so If you use it in our GS's AC line there needs a current limiting circuit which it should not allow the drive current more than 1A if this is not possible it is advisable to use battery as souce.
And pls correct me if I was wrong

            • Hello guys /friends

I got my Black Beauty yesterday.
Previously I was using Karizma ( first edition model -2003) so I feel GS as light weight compare to that.

I am looking for good gear ration and RPM link for both mode.
If someone has useful links, please post it.

I am happy with my new partner.

Its raining here , so I am driving carefully not pushing it upto limit.

              • I first serviced my bike at 2500KMS. & changed to Motul 20W40 Mineral. No free services ever. Then at 8000 KMS. I again serviced my bike & same oil was changed at 6000KMS. Changed my spark plug at 8000KMS. Not once have I changed Oil filter but I will do it tomorrow at 10.000KMS

I'm writing this just to show those who don't know what GS is capable of. SO, I still got 54+ mileage with all this poor condition of my bike. But here many times I fought for power in the bike.
                Still its going strong

Very True.. I am using the second pair of the same LED's. The 1st pair was used in original AC connection, but the got blown off soon. So, I connected them to DC line of the rear LED taillight and all is well now..

It was blown off in AC as current was not constant esspesially on LOW RPM it will Flicker and gone kupt

even after making a connection from rear LED twice (but not too frequently) my old LED's blow off as the LED's are of poor quality

Using the 4x3 pattern 12 LEDs for the past 10+ months and its working fine with no issues
the make says Type R bough it from a car accessory shop for 120 per pair

                        • Hi (after a long time),

Are any of you using masks to protect your lungs from the pollution while riding ?
I'm thinking of buying one (if available in any shops near my house) because its getting really annoying waiting behind autos (some of them) at signals with all that smoke (they probably mix kerosene with petrol or something)

(i found some links on the net, though i dont know if it would be available in India )

So any thoughts about it ?
(attached pic below what i found on the net)

Why are you changing the engine oil? Have you covered the distance prescribed for changing the oil? Try to stick with mineral oil for the first few thousand KMs

You are better off searching in local shops than on the internet because most of them are overpriced because they are imported. I remember a shop on JC Road (near the signal) that sold these masks when I went to buy a balaclava. It might not be as effective as the one in the picture but it should help keep larger particulate pollutants out of your lungs.
