Now the bike runs very smooth.

BTW completed the first phase of running-in(800KM) in one week. Apart from the lugging which is solved now no other issues noticed.

Thank you all for your kind help and support

May be this applies to you too. Your symptoms and mine are same. Did you wash the bike recently? I did with a very strong jet of water. The service guy after replacing the plug cap asked me so and told that may be the reason. But I had been facing the problem since the first evening of the day of purchase.

guys a query, is it advicable to get a new GSR(2013) model or to get an old gs for say 30k and change tyres and parts in which i ll be able to save 20000rs minimum. There are 2 reasons for this dilemma
1.hard gear shift problem which i had in the white gs which i had owned.
2.we can get a gs as a second hand bike knowing its bullet proof engine. Please share your views.
Please note that budget is not a problem for me , its just that i don't want to experience the hard gear shifting problem in my Gsr and want a problem free bike.
And one more thing in favor of buying a gs in seconds is that i don't think there was hard gear shifts problem in 2007-10 models of Gsr and the main reason for hard shifts i feel is due to changed gear ratios in new models, has any one experienced this..experts please have your say

Here, the parts to be replaced may be the tires, air cleaner, sparkplug, chain and sprockets and the battery. My tires are 34,500 kms old and I am planning to replace them next week. Calculate the cost of the parts to be replaced and find out how much you save when buying that bike.
Otherwise buy a new GS. I have ridden all the different GSs but never felt the infamous gear shift problem. If you are suspecting the gear ratios for hard shifting, you can replace the different 1st and 2nd gear sets and rear sprocket for about Rs. 3000/-. Then you get a new bike absolutely problem free.
If your purse is thick enough, go for a test ride on Duke390 or 200.

I agree. I have not experienced hard gear shifts on my 2012 model bike. Its 7 months old and have been aroud for 5000 kms.

Suzuki has confirmed that it is not misfiring but no one knows what it is. I am doubting that it is the brake binding but punarvasu says it ahudnt affect the running of the bike.
I had the same fuel-starvation like symptoms which self-resolved. Next time, I will also check the spark plug cap like rsk posted. Should not be brake binding - this will cause deacceleration at the most ? PV, days back you posted a picture of TVS caliper grease for brakes - Now where exactly does one apply the grease in the assembly - any pictures with some pointers will help. How often should I apply this caliper grease?

Even if he goes for the 390, he will still keep the GS like his Fiero

All the tires including the soft compound ones skid on gravel or loose surface. My experience with the stock tires is not so bad. So, probably the stock Zapper Y and FS itself if available here.

From last two three days, my bike have some problem with the Adjust/Select buttons on the console. Even if i press the buttons, nothing is happening. For the same, am not able to switch between ODO/Trip A and Trip B meters.. and also not able to change the modes.

Sometimes, when i keep the engine idle, the display will show the option to change the mode or it will show the option to change the timing asif I am pressing the buttons.. but i wont be touching the buttons at all.. ! !

why would this be happening ? i think it is happening after i gave it for sixth sevice last weekend. or i donno whether it is something to do with the climate here in blore.. . its always raining and cloudy here..

Can this be checked by ourown ? or do i have to show it to SVC ?

Nikhil, you may start by checking the wiring. If there is something open or tangled. Nothing much I can think of. I dont think its got anything to do with bangalore.
