Same issue I have been complaining from day1. No one seems to bother about this in svc. Try escalating this to suzuki

Guys any periodic maintenance that we can carry on our bike. Since i think the SVC guys in our area only clean up the bike and give it back.

          Hi All,

The major problem with GS now is:
          1. Whobbling issue
          2. misfire issue when it is in reserve

          These problems are resolved??

I am TOTALLY confused between CBZ-xtreme, CB unicorn and GS.

Please suggest a good one!! I am 6ft tall and commute 50 kms a day!

            Editted for clarity.

In my personal experiences, it's the same everywhere. For self service, I remember reading somewhere that punarvasu had given links or information to service ur bike urself and I beleive he does it himself regularly.

I will try to but I am not a self setvice man myself so havent saved it anywhere. U know its like searching for needle in a haystack but let me try.

I wud be happy to crib and get things done by a mech than doing it myself.

If its a mild screech-screech-screech noticeable when the surroundings are quiet - its mostly the pads touching the disc -
ignore this if it doesn't hamper ability to coast. If the entire front end screeches/shivers/vibrates/rumbles while
braking it might be dust - wash the disc with soap, rinse off with plenty of water with a hose (target the area between
the disc and pads). This should solve it like it does for me, if not, do more aggressive troubleshooting - visit SC.

My previous oils took at least 100-200+ kms to turn a very dark brown. This one has turned pitch black very soon but still
                    lubricates well.

Curious why an Access can do with a xW-30 while GS requires a xW-40. Because of the clutch and gears (Access has a
dedicated gear oil) ? Also was seeing in youtube how gear oils were tested in the lab - good ones stuck to the gears even
                    at good speeds.

Me too waiting for that post. Yes, replace air filter. According to the manual, you should have replaced the fork oil
                    and spark plug too.

Not resolved - because they were not problems/design flaws (affecting all GS) in the first place.

Your options are exactly the same I had 1 year ago (I also had Bajaj Avenger and Dazzler on the list). Go what your heart wants - you can't be wrong with either of these 3. BTW, Trigger didn't trigger you?

I had wobbling issue on the bike since day1 but it was resolced by svc. They removed and refitted the front assembky with stipulated torque values as per manual.

Misfiring. Not really sure it is misfiring but I feel some jerk when travelling. This happens even at full tank.

Cbz extreme. Not sure about it after honda hero split.

Unicorn is the most refined and reliable in the segment but dated with looks. Plus you have the honda sales and service attitude to put up with.

Gs is good value for money but has a rigorous service interval. Service is recommended once in 50 days instead of the usual 90 days so maintenance cost increases. Gs always comes with niggling problems that gets resolved after many visits to svc

Alternates : Suzuki is launching a new 150 cc bike and as ashwanth mentioned try trigger or dazzler.

in simple term the black bad guys inside the engine are consumed by the good transparent engine oil, but that doesnt meant the engine oil became bad, it acts quickly on the badies and does it job swiftly, so no need to worry about,

their is a oil filter in the engine which will take care only on the solid particles, not the minute dust kind or liquid stuffs

if oil is black it didnt allow some black stuffs stick to the engine componunts, so it keeps the bad black things with it and allow the engine to does its job well

in one line "the oil you are using now is somewhat better that the oil you used previously"

Air cleaner and sparkplug replacing and chain slack adjusting is due; it seems. Stock tire usually lasts much longer than 23,000 kms. I was planning to replace both tire at about 35,400 kms but the rear tire is good enough for some more thousand kms and hence replaced the front tire. So, get the tire checked by a tire dealer and replace if there is the slightest possibility of skidding due to wearing.
Check the condition of the chain and sprockets too.

The digital console is under replacement warranty for 2 years or 30,000 kms, provided it is not opened earlier. So you have the right to get it replaced free of cost.

This is the nature of all the disc brakes which you or anyone else cannot get rid off as long as the brake functions normally.
The mechanic has already drained some brake fluid to allow air in the brake line of your bike, resulting poor brake biting, especially when the fluid becomes hot; I think. If you complain again about it, the next step may be applying a very little oil or grease on the disc which makes it completely useless. If that sound is bothering you, clean the disc and pads every day with water and detergent.
And, if you think the disc is warped, ask to replace it under warranty.

The only GS owner complained about wobbling, as far as I remember, is Venkan12. It was, according to him, due to the improper tightening of some nuts in his bike which is already solved.
This is the first time I am hearing about the misfiring while in reserve story. Whose bike is it?
Test ride all the bikes in your list and decide which one to buy.

                              Deemash,

I have been using GS for two years now, 24,000 Kms

It still gives me 57 Kmpl when I ride in eco mode taking care not to activate the warning-light [which comes on above 60 km-speed]. I drive mostly on the ring road though and do 60 km per day

I still am happy to have decided to have gone for the GS instead of the unicorn / xtreme which were in my mind too at that time

About the wobbling / misfire, I do not face these issues. Infact i do not face any issues with the GS except for the initial period when the gear-shift was hard

I never did any repairs except for a bi-monthly service which I get done at the HERO-HONDA showroom next to my office

The wobbling / misfiring issues are not common problems among the GS's. one in thousand may have this problem. And the posts by Venkan12 makes it clear that it can be rectified at the SVC.

Similarly, the tank cap of my GS broke last day. Just because of that, we cannot say its a cheap quality since I am the first one in this group who faced this problem.

And, everybody who testdrives the GS will keep it as an option and will be confused till he makes the final choice. Its upto you to decide which bike suits you well. But make sure you take testdrives and then choose wisely.
