  • @ Gagan,
At the starting it self I know that polling in bike advice is biased because the polling was opened with more than 60 votes to dazzler.
Whatever they cant change the truth
Even if you cut its nose elephant cant be a pig.

    Well said vishnu
Synthetic is good for engine but changing oil at every 3000 kms is must because all dust, oxides and bad stuffs will get accumulated in the engine oil thus keeping old engine oil for a long term is not good for engines health

So even if it is synthetic its good to change it after 4 or 5k
Synthetic costs around 800 rupees where mineral is 200 only.

Is it or are they not ready to accept the real Democracy ????
If there had been abnormal increase in voting of any other bikes, would that have had been considered to be compromising voting too ???

Anyway to ensure safe and sound voting it is the duty of the authority to ensure flawless voting themselves and not increase or edit votes.

I came to know of this voting only after it was closed, otherwise I would have been able to understand what was the truth. !!!!

        Madhu,

What I was trying to point out was that spending such an amount is meaningless for ordinary biking and an occasional dashing above 100 kmh or so. A good number of the GS owners in this forum are students, depending on their parents for pocket money. They can be easily misled and doing so is against morality and values. And in any sense, I believe, synthetic oil is not inevitable for our bike as it is not designed for racing.

Mine was a simple joke, Dear Mach50. I thought, on hearing from Gagan, some of our GS owners may have repeatedly cast their votes in favour of GS. Anyhow, we need not be emotional as Suzuki itself is not trying to sell their bikes. Their marketing tactic is very poor.

+1 and add sales and service not for all, but me ,in a small town where i live with stone aged mechanic and suzuki main dealer not even bother about the standard of a SUBdealer
While iasking the SC mechanic abt the bike shut off if the handle turned left,
He replied it is due to the water(rain) inside the Kill switch, the water is moveding inside while turning left ,and causing the bike shut off

Yeah got your point what I am trying to tell is just this

Synthetic oil forms a protective layer on engine parts to prolong life as the protective layer prevents wear and tear. (this technology is there in mineral and semi oil as well but its not as good as synthetic in terms of protective layer in engine) more over dust and other oxides wont get cleared as they keep moving inside the engine along with oil thus in a long run even its a synthetic this factors causes roughness.

Thus keep using the old oil in engine for a long run is not good.

Instead of spending 800 bucks you can buy 4 cans of mineral oil

Synthetic oil is initially used in aeroplane them it came to automobile racing still they are using synthetic in racing cut they wont keep it not even for 1000 kms its just one race and drain the oil.

None of the commuter bike manufacture recommends the synthetic oil they always recommends mineral only that itself proves no need to go for synthetic until and unless its inevitable.

Seems to me like the exhaust's tak tak that we hear after turning off our bike's engine after driving, while we start it, the same thing can be making noise.....

Thats not what the new 30 sec advertorial of Suzuki tells.
Actually their first strategy went horribly wrong, had they launched the GS150R first just like Honda did............things would have been different today.Honda would only have been selling scooters not bikes in India

Now Integra Overseas Pvt Ltd should kick up a notch and take the marketing of Suzuki bikes seriously.

                          Hi guys,
                          Once again, need your help.....
I need to do some decorative modifications on my bike, but I am not sure where to find the items I need and what could be the budget, here are the Decals/vinyls I want to buy for the bike:

This is for the back of the bike below the tail light.

This is for petrol cap which somehow got some scratches because of the rough usage of keys by the previous owner.

Also I want to update the pilot lamps of GS like the ones below

but I don't know where to find one like these

Last but not the least, I want to buy one key chain like this one:

but unable to find it on any online shopping site or even the shops in our town.

Guys, please help me about where I can purchase vinyls/decals and the pilot lamp I mentioned since I want to make GS look a bit more stylish.....

I hope its because the idling rpm is going below 1000 rpm. Set it a little high so that when engine is cold it should be around 1100 rpm.

The drive chain will get loose eventually, but new drive chains tend to loose a little quick. After 2-3 adjustments it will settle.

IMO, Motul 4T Plus is the best one for our GS.

Man you have great taste . The key chain and sticker for petrol cap is too good. But I dont think we can find them in local market, maybe someone working abroad can help.......

The head light looks like two projectors with angel rings. In Off-Topic section there are some discussions about HID projectors and angel rings in the thread "Let there be light".

As you have to change the oil in every 2000 kms, buy whichever you like. Do not buy loose oil and remember to replace the oil filter and to be present while the mechanic change the oil and filter.

It will be better to buy an oil filter from the sc and change the oil and the filter yourself.
