Let us now admit the facts, concentrate on our bikes instead of advising Suzuki vainly and let Suzuki do whatever they like.
(No intention to hurt the pride of any engineers. I do really respect them especially those active here).

    1. Surely GS gives best pickup and speed. You can easily go up to 115 kmh true speed without any vibration or wobbling.
    2. Mileage depend many factors such as the riding habits, the condition of the road, traffic on it, how the bike is maintained etc. yet, the FE of GS is far better than other 150 cc bikes.
    3. Try a test ride with a pillion rider.
    4. That amount is more than enough. With what is left, buy a good car shampoo and carnauba wax to wash and polish it. Buy some good grease and EP 90/140 oil also to lubricate the chain.

Thanks for detail info , Suzi managers are not bothered to take any feedback seriously and are reasons to poor sales in motorcycle , its just not seat hight but overall size compared to engine size. mere stickering will not help GS sales , Suzi has to launch another model in 150 cc with good name , wide sales network and showrooms . age old unicorn is doing good numbers inspite of no updates to honda , cbz sales better because they have siblings like dazler /hunk. definately heat and zeus were tragic , had access not clicked they would have shut off.
Any way i am enjoying GS completing 21500 kms in 1 year and 20 days , no issues , runs like new , FE economy seems to get better , now am achieving 58 kpl as my ride speed has decreased to under 60 kmh due to trafic.

This usually happens while gunning the bike ,but agian it used to happen to my previous bikes too all 100 cc's , just ignore as it feels jerjy slightly when you slow down say 90-110 km/h to 50-60 km/h. may be its related to fuel flow which takes time to adjust due to heated conditions .3900 kms is low odo tojudge by air filter , do yopu feel clutch sleepage

I cannot understand what you mean by overall size to weight ratio. I hope you are not mentioning the power to weight ratio. If it is, please note that all the Splendors, Dazzler, Fazer, Hunk, Xtreme, Unicorn, SZR, Discover 125, Flame, Jive, Platina 100, Star city, CD Dawn, Shine, Twister, Crux and many others are far behind GS. The worst one is YBR110 with 1 bhp to carry 16.18 kgs. 1 bhp of Super Splendor has 13.25 kgs, Extreme has 10.35 kgs, Unicorn has 10.81 kgs, Dazzler has 9.73 kgs and GS has 9.71 kgs to pull. I have the power to weight ratio of 60 bikes on our roads – new or old ones. Hayabusa has 1 bhp to pull each 1.32 kgs of its kerb weight while Duke 200’s 1 bhp carries 5.04 kgs.
Hope you remember Bajaj M80. Its maximum power is 4.5 bhp and kerb weight 87 kgs. Just calculate its power to weight ratio.
If you mean the dimensions of the bike’s body, here is a list. Please compare.

Was copying from a 60 bike’s list. So minute mistakes are possible but it is not intentional. Anyway, thanks for pointing it out.

With the recent increase in price for the same amount of features, i think the value for money of this bike is going down. Since this is the fourth generation of the bike, lets hope atleast the fifth generation of the bike gets some real upgrades.
Yes. There are no major changes in the new GS. The changes I thought are mostly pertaining to cost cutting.

                1. Modified Cowl which is much smaller and sportier than before. (Also some say there is an increased in focus of the headlight beam more on the ground than sky)
                2. Coloured (read black) handle grip for pillion. ( Welcome change, looks better than black. I painted my bikes handlegrip color from silver-grey to black)
                3. Modified graphics. (lesser, smaller and now on the shin plastic part)
                4. Price Range increase. In Jan 2012 it costed me about 70,900 in Pune. Now if if I have to buy it, it would cost me 74,543/- i.e. appx 3.5 grands more.
                5. There will be only 3 colous.- White, Black and Orange.

Apart from these, rest all the specs remain the same. I dont know what exactly they are going to achieve with these changes. Anyway, as long as our bike is unique on the street, we are happy riders right?

nice work out and comparision , power to weight is good in gs provided its gear ratios not supporting the power this bike generates , this is felt at trafics , weight is help full providing stability. but again GS is oversized , it feels larger than karizma or p220 when on road , another advantage rider feels premium ( psycological atleast).
Suzuki should increase ASC , showrooms , general parts availabilty everywhere like air/oil filter instead of let salman khan doing sales , this is mantra to be successfull in our country.

                  • Hope atleast Orange is full colored instead of dual tone. price was expected to rise as quality of material in GS is much better than competetion , and they are not compromising inspite of poor sales.

I forgot I am talking to a great engine designer, but do you know any other bike’s gear ratios to compare it with GS?

The air cleaner lasts for 12000 kms and oil filter 8000 kms. Is it so difficult to go to the SC once in 8000 kms to buy these parts?

                        • Suzuki GS150R - Colombia.

                          Hi!

I had been curious lately about the GS150R's Latin American videos uploaded on Youtube. On researching, it turned out that Suzuki is selling the GS150R in the Colombian market. The following video on Youtube shows a preview of what the GS150R looks like over there. Nothing much different other than the accessories offered in Colombia!

                          Those Saddle Bags
on the video caught my attention and I couldn't help but search them on the Suzuki Colombia website which is on the following link on page 8 and 9-

Click here for link to GS150R Saddle Bag & Accessories

At the present exchange rate, the cost for the saddle bag seems to be around INR4100. A lot more like wallets and backpacks are also available.

                          A screenshot-

                          • Hi members,

can anyone tell me when will the fuel indicator bar starts blinking when in reserve? Ive read in few forums that it will start when the fuel remaining is 1.5 liters(half of reserve) .

What confusing me is, in my bike, when the fuel is turned to reserve last time, it started blinking @ 27 kms. and I filled petrol for 300 rs (shell special petrol - 3.66 liters). So, out of 3.66 litrs, 1.5 might have been used to fill the reserve tank and remaining 2.1 in Main. To my great satisfaction , my gs ran 137 kms before turning my fuel back to reserve yesterday evening which made me think my bike is giving more than 60 kmpl.

But now in reserve, the indicator started blinking @ 9.9 kms and after sometime, it stopped. Now it ran 33 kms and its not blinking as of now (looks like it may start at any time) . But am worried whats happening and why is it so.. Why it started blinking at 27km last time and at 10 km this time.. I dont think it should be giving 27 kms with 1.5 ltrs since its just 1 month old baby.

Can someone help me out in this .. ? ?

Going though your post this is what I understand:
                              1. Once the fuel indicator started blinking after riding 27 kms in reserve.
                              2. Next time it started to blink after riding 10 kms after reaching reserve level i.e. 17 kms earlier than before.
Let us wait and see what happens next time.
However, your bike gives a good FE.

we cant get accurate FE using that way try tank full method or try bottle test method.
