Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Just to give you an update, I gotta call from the dealer after almost a month of waiting post booking and he told me that the 2017 YZF R3 (BS4 compliant) will take another two months. After hearing this, I gave the dealer a piece of mind that you should have disclosed this information at the time of booking itself. He said I didn't know about this. I told him clearly you are a Yamaha dealer and if you don't know about these things, then how do you acquire customers. Nevertheless, I have requested to cancel the booking and refund of the amount and told the dealer whenever it is available give me a call. Simultaneously, I also checked with other showrooms in NCR and they also told me the same thing. I checked Yamaha USA website and they already have the updated version for 2017. Sadly, Yamaha India is sleeping or gone into coma. Almost 3 months into 2017 and we don't have the updated version. Additionally, they are not clear and prompt in their responses. If someone has written an email and following up on that, at least have the decency to respond back. The call center female has no clue about the products and just sitting there to forward queries and complaints. God knows how does Yamaha treats customers post sale. Buying such an expensive bike and this is how a brand behaves with you. They are not transparent at all. Seriously! Moreover the problem is that the R3 is not even available on display in almost all the showrooms and if they introduce a new model, how does a customer see it. Is Yamaha expecting us to just blindly book such an expensive bike without even looking at it! This is beyond logic. I need to rethink about my decision.Originally posted by thomas11 View PostR3 2017 MODEL follows bs4 norms as told by SVC no other major update..Is there a way to check your vehicle manufacturing year...Regards,

Are you talking about that black part which sits between headlight cowl and fairing?Originally posted by pulsarcraz View PostHey Guys, where can I get the fairing just above the headlights here in Bangalore? Unfortunately, I've got a dent in the right side. I tried contacting my svc but looks like they don't have it.

Yest called Orion motors and asked for discounts on R3. Sales rep said there are no discounts and on road price is 3.88L for BS 3/2017 models. He also said we can take a test ride without paying any advance.
Cheers!

Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
The US 2017 R3 model has ABS, so if Yamaha is launching the same 2017 model in India, it should have ABS.Originally posted by [email protected] View PostI checked Yamaha USA website and they already have the updated version for 2017. Otherwise buying a bike costing 3.9 Lakhs with no ABS makes no sense!

Yamaha India would only update R3 according to BS4 norms, ABS might be introduced early 2018.Originally posted by Finney View PostThe US 2017 R3 model has ABS, so if Yamaha is launching the same 2017 model in India, it should have ABS.

Regarding price, ninja costs around 4.2L and it is also not equipped with ABS in fact no 300cc twin cylinder bike in india is equipped with ABS

Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hi Guys,
Am planning to book a 2017 R3 (shall be verified after dealer gives me VIN number which I have asked for).. On asking if the ABS version shall be released in India, I was told by a very reliable source that they have no plans on touching R3 this year..so it shall be the way it is.. Also i believe Blue color shall be discontinued and only black available FOR NOW..My speculation is that new colors may get introduced , but not sure again..Did anyone hear similar news too ?

Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I was looking at US website, which shows the new YZF R3 comes in Matt black (ClickOriginally posted by thomas11 View Post2017 update only on terms of BSIV.Regarding colours it's your wish they din say anything.) and not Black lightning (shiny black) as its called now.. These colors in International market is available from March 2017, hence u can add may be couple of months by the time it arrives to Indian market...I may hold my booking for couple of months to see this.HTML Code:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=STxox2dL40w

Trust me, yamaha will only update R3 to BS4 norms apart from that nothing would be changed. Blue and black colours would be available as earlier.Originally posted by SBK4life View PostI was looking at US website, which shows the new YZ this.
All major updates will come in 2018.

Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Has anyone installed frame sliders on the bike? I am planning to get the basic Shogun frame sliders for around $45. But I am skeptical that if it may hit my knee since I am 6'2" as these sliders go directly into the bolt and are not like those expensive vegabond type which goes down with an additional bracket.
Sportbike Track Gear offers one of the best selections of motorcycle gear in the industry. Buy helmets, jackets, parts, tires & more online for a great price!
Just wondering if anyone may have any experience with frame sliders on R3 or if there is any cheap option available in India.
