How did you do it, the Hornet's handlebar is hollow at the ends. Welded a nut on both sides?

No, clamped it over fz 150 weights and little bit of desi jugaad [emoji23][emoji23]

That's a neat DIY. I hope the plasticky thing is strong enough to hold those heavy Pulsar weights.

Yeah, they're strong. Next i will install heavy mirrors from apache or ktm which will make my bike the smoothest. As, i am a fan of smooth motorcycles i will try each and every way to make it more smoother. Even, i am thinking of filling my footpegs with some kind of weights to make it even smoother, there are no vibes in my pegs now, but i want to make it smooth ( electric level smooth) till redline. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]. In short i want to enjoy smoothness of a twin in a single [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] LOL.

                In hornet,
It's possible to make the bike even more smoothest by fitting things watever u said

But the low end punch is the only thing that makes me think, why Honda why...
But I ll never say the bike is underpowered, once crossed around 4500rpm then comes the beast with its full potential...

But after the odo of 22000km, somehow I bcam familiar and understood the low end grunt of hornet... So it's an Apache 160/ ns 160.. i knw I can give a tougher competition to them...

Install fz 25 rear sprocket, low end torque will increase and install 140/60/17 radial tyre.

So what's special with that sprocket?

Bigger sprocket( more no. of teeth) = more low end torque.

                        Is it compatible with hornet?

                          Hello guys,

I don't own a hornet but I have ridden one extensively. I initially hated it for the low initial power. I wondered how that how did honda manage to produce such low initial torque from an undersquare engine! And it also lacked the trademark honda refinement.

But out on the open roads and twisties, it's such a hoot to ride. It feels much better in cornering than the gixxer and FZ. It's sharp and poised and also feels really solid. The refinement is still not that good but on the highway it provides a very engaging experience. It's also very good for long rides.

But regardless how much I love this bike, I still don't suggest it to anyone due to sheer arrogance of honda/HMSI and their dealers.

The hornet is clearly overpriced. No kill switch even in 2019. Last year I went to a honda showroom with a friend. The price was 1.11 lac on road for the dual disc variant. We asked for a TD and they told that there are no TD bikes available. We were about to leave when the sales guy called us back. He told " Sir if you are ready to buy it, we can provide you a TD bike !". This really infuriated my friend. He abandoned the hornet there itself.

We went straight to the nearby suzuki showroom and asked for a TD. It was a small dealership but they swiftly arranged a bike. The onroad price was 98k with all accessories. He bought the gixxer and is happy with it.

I am writing this post because I came to know that the unicorn 160 is discontinued. The dazzler, cb trigger, CBR150R and the unicorn 160 all were very good bikes. Next the hornet may be discontinued as it is also selling too low. The problem is not the products but the arrogant and ignorant attitude of Honda/HMSI.

Honda = scooter maker ! The svc doesn't even have the drain bolt washer from my bike, cbr 250r has become extinct due to this very reason. Refinement increases post 5k kilometers. Believe me, cbr 150r has much more vibrations than Hornet.

Xblade is smoother than Hornet, it's a vfm machine for Honda lovers.

I felt that the refinement is lower than the the unicorn which feels super smooth. But it's still much smoother than it's rivals except the apache 160 4v. Not ridden the xblade yet but I guess it's more suited for city use. The hornet has a sharp and connected feel with the rider in the twisties which I really miss in its peers. Maybe it's the front end feel.

Hero is the bigger player than honda in terms of sales but their customer experience is so much better. Be it a ZMR or cd-dawn they treat you equally and always have the basic spares in stock.

After installing pulsar bar end weights refinement has come very close to 160 4v ! ( 160 4v also has heavy bar end weights, now only refinement comparison is fair between them )Click image for larger version
