Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Problem here is the quality control on the Hornet. There are some bikes which are extremely refined some Hornets which are average and some which sound like a mixer grinder. I had one of the latter a Oct 2016 model. Had engine issues right from purchase. Hung on to it for 2 years, cut my losses and sold it.Originally posted by #bpk View Post

Bought an FZ25 in April. I would put the blame on the Honda SVCs. I expected them to sort out the issue early. They ended experimenting and my vehicle became a mess.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Sad to hear so many complaints on Honda, being a reputed company and a company with some legendary and best bikes in it's porfolio...
Btw, today was trying to hit the top speed of hornet for a second time
Able to achieve 126kmph beating my prev record of 123kmph
If ridden in a favourable road conditions and proper wind blast protection, am damn sure I can hit it around 130kmph
Even at redlining of 9500rpm, didn't felt a vibration on handlebar as well foot pegs, that's the honda's sheer refinement for a carb engine
Am not much aware about FI engines, may it's smoothness could be something different...

You've got the best Hornet from Honda. All hornets are not that smooth. I can't believe that it has no vibes @ 126kmph. I think you've rhino skin in your hand and legs [emoji23][emoji23]. No single cylinder 150cc bike has such refinement, even the 160 4v. What about tingling sensation in footpegs from 90 kmph? What engine oil do you use ? What boots do u wear ?Originally posted by gowthamh View PostSad to hear so many complaints on Honda, being a reputed company and a company with some legendary and best bikes in it's porfolio...

I also do occasionally rev above 8k RPM in 3rd and 4rd gear. Smooth as butterOriginally posted by #bpk View PostYou've got the best Hornet from Honda. All hornets are not that smooth. Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
My abs unit has become faulty. The warning light is blinking as soon as I reach 30kmph.
Anyone know what might be the problem.
I have cleaned the sensors but in vain.
Svc says they have to decode the modulator. Is there a good svc with trained technician in kochi or kottayam.

At such a high rev range of 9000rpm
I can just only sense that engine sound and a very mild sense of it felt over the handle bar and that can't be said as a vibration...
If u r so surprised on it, sorry but can't able to deny the fact that hornet is best in refinement in mid, top ranges.. it's just about hornet and I didn't compared it with any other 160cc machine

Obviously, the comfort speed of engine lies around 112 kmphOriginally posted by ashwinprakas View PostMotorcycle makes peak power at 8.5k RPM where it does a true speed of 111.7kmph calculated using Gearing Commander.
Ride Safe.
Further that it's the rider techniques as well the stressing of engine along with proper gear shift matching with rev range/protection for wind blast/aerodynamic seating posture/lesser body weight by containing less fuel.. All these sums up to higher top speeds exceeding beyond company claiming limit
Though these are al crazy non recommendable things to do, a motorcycle enthusiast would have known all these even if not tried on bike

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Hey Guys, my first post here!
I own a Honda CB Hornet 160R (STD.) for the past 3 years and have loved every metre of the 35000 kms I've covered.
I do have a couple headaches though without which I would have given this baby a perfect 10.
1. Headlights:
The stock set up is really crappy and I have been aching to find the best upgrade yet. Any recommendations if I should change the DC to AC and install an LED bulb or just go in for fog lamps. Bit confused on the positioning of the fog lamps as well.
2. Tyres:
My tyres have worn out and going through the forum I see the best bet is the MRF Masseter. But, I am unable to get them anywhere here in Bangalore. They've been out of stock since the last 2 months and every dealer keeps directing me to the Zapper.
So should I take up the Zapper itself or order
the Masseter online?
3. Handle Bar vibrations:
On higher RPMs the hands get buzzy. Any fix for this?
4. What's the best Engine Oil?
Been using the Motul fully synthetic brand till now without any issues. Just seeing if I've been missing out on something.
Will be eternally grateful to some kind soul(s) who can help me out with the above.
P.S.
I stay in Bangalore and have been wondering if there are any Handa hornet specific riding groups. Would love to join.
Signing off till next time...
TG.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
1. Headlight: Yes, it's poor. Try Osram 40/45w ralley stock / cool blue. Costs around 250/- and better install aux headlightsOriginally posted by Tuza1991 View PostHey Guys, my first post here!

2. Tyres: Try Michelin dealers for set of Michelin Pilot Street.

4. Are you on Motul 7100. It works great, continue with it.
