Depends on version too. Newer hornets have smaller disc unit (not sure of size of disc pad), outer mass.
But, Inr. 273 is too less. Did they gave you older pads?
Back drum & front disc. 2016 model hornet.

    Front pad just 275rs.
Also the braking power is lesser than the stock one.

Will check with them in the next service

        Total Cost : 11400/- (Back: 6k, front: 5.2k) , fitting 200.

It will take a couple if hundred kms for breakdown. I will post the experience later.

Tyres looks great. You can also install 150/60. Both 140/70 and 150/60 have same weight and 150 gives better look. Mileage.. ehhh... a bit of hit, I guess.

Earlier I was quoted 12.5k for the set from different dealer. I enquired few more and other were offering near 11k.

Also, in latest servicing, I got my silencer coated again. There were few patches of rust and it went marron red under engine. Service center guys offered to do the job for 500. After examining the work. I found it satisfactory.

For proper up-sizing of tyre calculate the parameters needs to be consider from the link given below.

Bike starts but shuts off immediately.

I ran into weird issue, after office I tried to start the bike as usual but it refused to start.

In try of 15-20 min. Some times on self start it engaged but shuts down in 2 sec. Finally battery went almost dead.
Using Kick, 2 times, it came fully alive. Evem once, I was able to rev for 15-20 sec but the moment I tried to move it shuts off. Randomly in 10-15 kicks it looked like picking up but goes black.
Also, if I give a bit of throttle it never picks up. It only appears to engage when throttle is fully zero.

Background: don't know if it's relevant. I got my bike washed yesterday. Today morning, it's started in first attempt using self, as usual.

Any lead, what might have went wrong, before I call up mechanic in morning.

Bettery dead? But, In that case kick should work with choke.

Yes, if battery is dead, the kick can start the vehicle, afterwards you should be able to warm it up normally and drive normally.
Is horn strong? Indicators working normally with engine off? Yes, might be faulty starter relay or water in wires.
Did the speedometer switch off/on (complete reset) while trying out motor start?
Did you pressure wash with seat removed?

Yea horn is strong, console and lights were ok.
Pressure wash but seat was not removed.

Bike started normally in morning after yesterday wash. Perhaps, ran more happily as I chain was lubed. Bike was parked overnight and then I came to office 10km drive in morning.

This might be issue of any short circuit or loose connection?
Wondering why I didn't get any issue in morning.

It's raining cats and dogs in Hyderabad . Lots of people are struggling with bike start even in evening.
              I never faced any issue.

              Anyway, calling mechanic in morning.

May be the wash didn't do it. Must be the rains. Moisture inside spark plug cap can also cause this short of breath type running. Keep us posted.

F|_|k|NG Spark Plug and novice me, fixed it myself. Didn't think of it when I was sweating for kicking 20 mins.

Spark plug went totally black. Battery is still strong even after trying full 20min.
                  Learned good lesson.

I need to change spark plug. Should I go with stock or any better option available?

If possible, post a pic of the electrode-end later when you remove it.

Conventional plug is fine as long as you change by 10,000-12,000 kms. Best place to buy is the SVC itself as there is zero chance of getting a duplicate. Gap should be checked atleast once at service interval, i.e., 6000 kms.

NGK mentions Iridium plug CPR8EAIX-9 as alternative to stock for Uni160/Hornet. Advantage is no gap adjustment (can't be done) and long life (atleast 40,000 kms or upwards). Just like conventional, must be removed periodically to check engine health.

Better to find an NGK authorized distributor/dealer and buy from there. It is just like FS oil - if one buys and changes too soon, cost/km will be very high compared to stock.

I don't know if old is bad enough to replace. But, the day I cleaned, it was really bad. Looks like it was about to roast.

New Spark Plug, new Stock air filter and Micheline Pilot Street. Here is my review after 1000Km including my recent Srisailam Trip (250Km one way).

NGK Iridium Spark Plug: Throttle response was more alive and improvement in vibration: Placebo effect!! Maybe.

Micheline Pilot Street: This thing comes with Magnet pre-installed. Frankly I tried many time to make it slip, where stock MRF zapper slipped. This tyre never failed me. I was cruising over 95. Feedback was so good, it felt like I am driving on 75-80.
Bike jumped over unmarked speed breaker, this thing landed like falling on cushion. [emoji3]
There was times when I shift-up early, throttle was lagging. But, on good shift over 5k. Bike was running like bull.
Overall, my cornering confident gone up by 20%.

It was my first experience on hairpin bends (A couple of them are there in Srisailam ghat road). Tyre and Bike both performed so well, I was with pillion.
I wish breaks could be better to complement with setup.

I don't think I am going back from this tyre.

I have done it long back. 2 step down. I will become little soft. This will feel little wobbly in starting.
If you are doing by your own, go down one by one.

The spanner is not provided in the toolkit to adjust [emoji28]. I've to get it done outside .

Yeah.. CBR 250 have the spanner. You can just ask any good ASC to adjust it. They will do it.
