That's strange, i didn't find any problems in my bike, yesterday i was riding at 90kmph and the bike was super smooth ! Regarding gear issue, check clutch freeplay and chain slackness . Also replace mineral oil every 2k kilometers it'll make the bike smoother. Do u feel any vibrations in handlebar and footpegs ?

As #bpk said, check for chain slack. If required clean it properly and lube it. A dirty open chain is biggest culprit which causes rough drive.

Go to short drive with long straight road and do a couple of 8k RPM in 4th (Around 90Kmph) and 5th gear. You can also do above 7k RPM in 3rd gear.
In regular driving also, don't shift up quickly. Try to go beyond 6k.
You will notice engine freeing up in next 1000Km.

Bike shoes are developing cracks. Specially front tyre. Anyone changed it recently.

I can't decide between MRF Masseter and Micheline pilot street.
Will 110/70 R17 fit on Hornet? A bit wider

Update : Local Dealer quoted 12k for Michelin Pilot Street for set of 140/70 and 110/70 at 12k. (7k + 5k) . What you guys think?

Update on new Tyre.
Finally Got Micheline Pilot Street 140/70 and 110/70
Total Cost : 11400/- (Back: 6k, front: 5.2k) , fitting 200.

It will take a couple if hundred kms for breakdown. I will post the experience later.

Tyres looks great. You can also install 150/60. Both 140/70 and 150/60 have same weight and 150 gives better look. Mileage.. ehhh... a bit of hit, I guess.

Shop in Madhapur-HYD: Kalpataru Tyres & Batteries Pillar No 48, Madhapur
080089 19177
Find local businesses, view maps and get driving directions in Google Maps.

Earlier I was quoted 12.5k for the set from different dealer. I enquired few more and other were offering near 11k.

Also, in latest servicing, I got my silencer coated again. There were few patches of rust and it went marron red under engine. Service center guys offered to do the job for 500. After examining the work. I found it satisfactory.

110 section in front will make the front end heavy, how does it feel ?

Just came from fitting...Doesn't feel any of difference.
But with wider section in front, it will take more power to move by feet.

The hornet tyres lack good enough grip if the road is bit bad, also on wet roads... Does choosing the tyre with more pattern helps in increasing grip, but it shouldn't have toll on performance/mileage?

Radial will give better grip over nylon based any day.
Also, mileage is concern when adding weight to tyre.140 and 150/60 have same weight.
While acceleration, it's radial friction we are talking about. Otherwise, stikier the tyre, better would be control.

Unicorn has 90 and 110 set of tyre (correct me of I am wrong), hornet has 140. Not much of mileage change.
Dealer persuaded me for 150, but , at that time. I didn't do full analysis. It was just INR.200 extra over 140 section.

IMO 110 -150 would give best experience. There is no question on quality of Pilot Street anyway.

Hey guys been so long without posting on the group . Bike completed 18500 kms and 2.5 years . Changed chain set and front brake pads . Bike is running fine with mileage b/w 45-50 kmpl . Btw just found these clips or rivets for Rs 2 each from local car parts store for the fairing , not as high quality as Honda ones but the price difference of Rs. 120 for official and Rs. 2 for these make it for me . Hope you guys can find the same size too .Click image for larger version

Unicorn 150: 80/100-18 & 100/90-18
Unicorn 160: 80/100-17 & 110/80-17

AFAIK as I know. My Unicorn's rear tyre is about to wear out. Going to replace it this week. Was contemplating a 110 section but decided against it and going to stick with stock size.

I replaced it from ASC for just 273 rs.

How come this possible!!??
Did they used any duplicate product??

I got it changed two years back in similar price, 700 - 800.
Depends on version too. Newer hornets have smaller disc unit (not sure of size of disc pad), outer mass.
But, Inr. 273 is too less. Did they gave you older pads?
