Tell them to adjust clutch free play, there should be some amount of "clutch lever" free play or movement meaning the clutch lever will feel loose to a certain point and then work normally, this play is required for clutch to work effectively.

Here's a video on what is clutch free play

Every motorcycle will have a recommended clutch play recommended by the manufacturer.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Hi guys I'm planning to get my first bike and I had finalized rtr 160 4v but after some searching in net I've seen many people tell that it only gives around 35-40 so I thought I could buy rtr 200 which gives about 30-35kmpl plus abs also. I live in Bangalore and have to commute to work 60kms. So guys do u think it's good decision?

      Thanks

Hi! Got my carburetted Apache 200 in February. It's been quite good but there are now spots of rust on the gear change. TVS refuse to replace it, saying it's because this place (Mangalore) is by the seaside.

Disappointing. The value of their warranty is clear.

Never buy a bloody TVS product again. Stick to the Japanese.

No point revving a 200cc motor in terrible traffic. If refinement and comfort is what you seek your prayers will find answer in 1 of the Japanese manufacturer's stable.

Hello everyone. My friend has recently bought the 200 4V. He wants to fit LED indicators and some other accessories. He stays on SB road Pune. Can you please recommend a good accessories shop?

The honda's and yamaha's even rust, and they do have the same policy, refuse too to change under warranty.

Japanese are even worse than tvs, my 2018 hornet chain started rusting only after 1 week of purchasing , instrument console panel starts vibrating, and paint peeled off from engine. TVS uses best quality parts and provides better fit n finish than Japanese bikes. There's no tappet sound in rtr like fz 250, no quality issues of 200ns, well priced and vfm machine( with quality ) in india in 200cc category is rtr 200 [emoji7]

If only they made the RTR more roomier, even though it's much better than the smaller engined RTRs. But I guess it would go against its DNA. RTR is much more racier than the streetfighter FZ25.

Let me just say that "tappet" noise is more common in 2 valve engines. The RTR and NS having 4 valves would be better in that aspect.

Hi guys, I have few questions regarding RTR 200 race edition.
                    1. How is the pillion comfort?
                    2. Is it comfortable for long rides and touring?
                    3. Mileage in city when ridden at speeds of 60 to 80?
                    4. How much is the paid service cost?
                    5. Is it having cold starting problem?
                    6. Service interval.
                    7. Can I use semi synthetic oil instead of synthetic oil?
                    8. Will it start giving more problems after 15k kms?

                      Please post your answers.
                      1. Pillion comfort is OK more on the sportier side. Cannot seat side ways better for people who can seat with legs on both the sides.

                      2. No problem for long rides and cannot comment touring as haven't used for touring as such.

                      3. If you ride between 60 to 80, you should get above 37KMPL, i think can pull it till 40KMPL also. But it is difficult to keep this bike under 80kmph all the time and if you are able to do that means you are not enjoying the bike the way it is. Mix riding will give you mileage of 35-37kmpl. That should be OK.

                      4. Paid service would be around 1000-1200 Rs. with oil change and 400-500 rs. without oil change.

                      5. Cold starting problem is there on the bike but we can handle it with the fuel settings. Other thing to keep in mind is always use choke to start the bike in the morning and after 4-5hrs of halt. It is there in the service book. I am able to control the cold start problem with this. Also a better spark plug can control it.

                      6. Service interval depends upon the oil you use. If you use TVS synthetic then the service interval will be around 3000 - 3500kms and if you go for a better synthetic oil from Motul then service interval will be 5000kms +.

                      7. Better to always use synthetic oil as it is required by the bike for better lubrication and heat management and so said by the company.

                      8. This totally depends on the rider as to how to keep the bike. Parts quality is good and reliable. I have completed 34000kms in 2yrs and still enjoy the bike everyday. whatever parts i have changed is as per normal wear and tear. Only problem is the gear sensor which goes faulty every 6-8 months. But i think they have taken care of the same in the newer versions.

Thanks Rakowli. Are you facing problems related to chain like chain noise , frequent loosening etc..? Have you changed your chain sprocket in 34k kms of ownership?

Loosening never had any problem like this. Chain noise is there but too much it is bearable and can be minimised by using good chain lube. I have just changed the chain sprocket kit at 31500kms. Even the bike tyres i changed at 33500km. Maybe i was lucky for this extended quality of parts. I have heard normally the life for both is around 15000-20000 kms.
