Indonesia is the main market in terms of bike launches. They get all the models.
I really hope they don't launch the Akula 310. Otherwise that also might eat into the production space of the 200, and they won't be able to pump out bikes in large numbers.
The advantage of TVS, Bajaj and all were that, one could easily get bikes in a matter of few days after booking.
But now, TVS is acting like Royal Enfield, so much waiting time for bikes.
Had told all my friends and family that a new bike will come soon. but this "soon" isn't coming soon enough.!
I'm gonna change the front tire of my RTR160 and continue riding it.
No choice, will have to wait till December. Because I know, if I go for a Hornet or Gixxer now, I'm gonna regret the decision next year when the 200 with ABS comes out !
Don't go for Hornet or Gixxer. That's the right decision. If it's December, it's just a matter of two 3 months tops. I don't get it, why can't they just start selling the bikes already? Why this bloody build up and uncertainties? I believe products should be first made available where it's produced but not import first.

For the fi+abs they could have actually undercut the competition price (for Rs200 single channel abs) while giving better equipment (dual channel abs) and being the only ones to do so in the premium commuter segment. Its a win win situation as far as I can see it.But I guess the boffins at TVS know more about this than we do and are probably thinking of aggressively expanding internationally (at the expense of ignoring the Indian market) will net them more gains in the future. Sad situation for a bike that enjoys a special place in the hearts of many biking enthusiasts in India.
I think both TVS & Bajaj are halting sale in India to take advantage of the new GST enforcement. They will release once the situation is clear and they adjust or increase their profits on the product. Indian customers waiting for 200cc bike with ABS have limited options.

Guys sorry to put this question in while you'll are so upset about the ABS version not releasing anytime soon.

Can someone give me the guidelines for the run in period? I haven't received my bike's manual yet so have no clue and have already clocked 100kms. Tried to search for it in this thread but couldn't find it.

At the moment, I'm shifting before it touches 4k on the RPM count and keeping the speed around 50. Is that correct or am I missing out on something?

          1st 1k km - 4.5k rpm - 50 kmph
          Next 500km - 6k rpm - 60 kmph
Then gradually increase it week by week.

So this was my 1st top speed run.. though i was short shifting all the time around 6.5 to 7k rpm... I think if i shift gears around 10k rpm then i can achieve 140+... & Also i noticed that 132 was on 9k rpm & it can go all the way upto 11k rpm easily.. so 140 is not a big deal for the beauty!!

            Ride hard ride safe!!
sorry to burst your bubble, but it GENERALLY doesnt work that way. theoretically u might get 140 kph before redlining, but u need to remember that the 200 torque curve drops significantly on the higher rpms. this, coupled with the fact that it doesnt have any fairing (aerodynamics), will ensure u will not be able to reach those high speeds, or at best, the bike will severely strain in getting there.

As a bike lover, i ask you to not torture this beautiful machine that much....

            cheerz...

                Yeah me [emoji6].

I had thought I will follow the running in religiously but could not stop myself. Touched 100KMPH 3-4 times before 1st service itself (Highway run).
Do Rev your heart in out or on treadmill After revving you bike's engine.A free flowing and high revving heart will give more happy miles too :)

I'm getting an average of 35kmpl now in mostly city riding. What average are other people getting?

Looks like the company should stop giving the manual to the owners now, since they "know it all" and also knows how to control their inner feelings and keep their bike in perfect condition during run in

I didn't rave my bike.. i was changing gear below 7k rpm.. and that speed came on 9k and that i have tried only once... After completing my 1st servicing & i m on 700kms so.. it wouldn't be a big problem I guess

It's a big deal for the good health of engine. Proper Run in is done for 1600 kms, it ensures smoothness, long life of engine. If i was in place of you i would not take my bike above 85-90kmph. But then it's your bike we can just advice you at the end of the day it's your call.

                              P.S. : Please use multiquotes
