Re: Aprilia SR 150 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Congrats. Refer to the owner's manual for running-in instructions and do what it says - the engineers who written those instructions can be trusted any day. Don't race the engine, vary your speed (which will vary the engine RPM) and be gentle for the first couple of kilometers for each trip. The brakes and tyres would require a running in for 150-200 kms too - so no harsh cornering or braking. Drive safe.Originally posted by surendran View Post

Re: Aprilia SR 150 Owners Reviews and Experiences
1000+ km and kick start has stopped working now, I have been using kick-start every first time in morning. Now it seems useless. Automatic start is running nicely though. May be next servicing engineer need to reset somethings.
Any idea guys?

Re: Aprilia SR 150 Owners Reviews and Experiences
One need not practice this. The Aprilia can start all its life on starter motor only. Kick is a back-up as it is an automatic and could not be started by popping the clutch in gear. What the battery loses in starting the bike on a cold morning (which is not much different than an usual electric start if one uses the choke), it makes up when the vehicle is running.Originally posted by rahul.martial View Post1000+ km and kick start has stopped working now, I have been using kick-start every first time in morning.
You mean even after using choke, it doesn't start with kickstarter?Originally posted by rahul.martial View PostNow it seems useless. Automatic start is running nicely though. May be next servicing engineer need to reset somethings. Any idea guys?

Surendran welcome to the 150 club. Good to see you've upgraded. Manual is your bible, follow the run-in instructions, just don't red line the engine, rest assured, give it short bursts of speed, an engine beds in better with varying RPM, speed and load, so just don't stick to a constant speed.Originally posted by surendran View PostHi friends, got mine yesterday,
Here in Tirupur they said side stand is not available, I have to wait for one week,
About the ride, yesterday I just completed 150 kms,
It pulls like a bull and runs like a horse, wow I was impressed
For run in I'm keeping around 60 kmph, but they did not inform anything about this in the showroom, need details from you guys,
Try using choke next time, when you kick in the morning, usually, it's a good practice to start scooters by kick starting rather than self. Now, it's not a bad idea to start a scooter using self, self is there for a reason, but after a prolonged period of non-usage, it's advisable to use kick. Try using choke, take the bike off the center stand and try kicking it slowly and with adequate force.Originally posted by rahul.martial View Post1000+ km and kick start has stopped working now, I have been using kick-start every first time in morning. Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Current status:
Kick only: no use
Kick + choke: no use
Electric start: works perfect without choke/ with choke
I am sure as services vespa has quoted 3-3 months after, I won't run out of battery ever.
Still I will try kick start with /without choke sometimes with slow adequate force.

For the second service, make sure the person entering the job card enters this as a complaint and try to collect your vehicle as soon as it is ready. Before leaving the service centre, check that the starter works and they have rectified your complaint. By "not working", I assume its turning/cranks but the engine doesn't start.Originally posted by firouzhaider View PostBro , for me, the self starter stopped working before first service, inform this to the service centre during first service , still not working. waiting for second service. using kick starter now..Last edited by ashwanth.r; 12-19-2016, 12:36 PM.

Re: Aprilia SR 150 Owners Reviews and Experiences
thanks for the advice bro , I did the same last time but seems they were unable to fix it or didn't give it due attention. "Not working" means its completely dead. No reaction whatsoever when I push the button.Originally posted by ashwanth.r View PostFor the second service, make sure the person entering the job card enters this as a complaint and try to collect your vehicle as soon as it is ready. The kick start for Aprilia needs to be done with the full movement, unlike the other scooters. I had this same issue. It was specifically explained that you need to stand at the rear of the scooter and kick start with your right leg moving in a straight motion to get complete stroke. Try this. It starts with only one stroke if done properly.
