The bike is smoother then before but I have noticed some "shrrrrrr" sound coming only while accelerating.
This sound is coming if we are taking the throttle and sound stops if we leave the throttle/acceleration idle and is more noticeable after 3rd gear.

When I reported same to the service centre today...they checked everything and told me there is no problem with anything in bike.

Anyone faced this peculiar sound ?

For sounds, it's always recommended that you put up an audio link. Sounds can be due to "n" number of reasons, only a listenable sound can help everyone here get an idea and aid in helping provide solutions, if any. Try uploading an audio clip of the sound that you are hearing.

Yes VJ agreed, asking like this wont help but this sound comes when you accelerate and clearly audible only after 25-27 kmph and the time you leave the throttle idle and wont accelerate further there is no sound. So its very difficult to capture that.

      Thanks,
      Raj.

Just speculating here. Since you are facing this issue after the first service, I would recommend you to check for loose bolts and any vibrating part if any. There are high chances that they might have missed torquing some bolts or loose parts touching each other, prone to happen. Keep us posted though.

        Cheers!

Have heard the same noise in my bike too..My brother heard & reported it to me first after which I also noticed it..I got all the possible rattle points checked & chain cleaned & lubed again..but the sound persists..but yesterday, rode a friend's RC 390 & it too has a similar sound so guess it's a characteristic sound of this engine..
          Just my 2 cents..

Thanks for the update, I will try to get hands-on on other Dominars and KTM 390 and will see

              HeyPiyush,
I had the same sound that only comes when I am accelerating. I had this sound from day 1. Had mentioned this in one of my initial posts back. When I close the throttle there is no sound. Its a little bit weird to hear this as it makes me think there is some issue with the bike. Thankfully its not just me thats getting this sound. I had pointed this out to the service guy and he said it is the wind hitting the number plate that is making it .

Also after the first service there is a lot of black sludge coming out of the gearbox. I have taken some snaps, and will post it later. Did anyone else also observe this? When i checked out some other forums for the same issue, they said it was because of the excess chain lube and not the engine oil, which was my initial fear. Still it is a little disconcerting to see such a thing.

And did the gearshifts on your bike improve after the first service. It seems to be as clunky as before. Especially in the 1st and the 2nd region.

                Hi Vivek,

Yesterday I went for long ride in very low traffic area and felt like that sound was coming from the screw/bolt area which is placed just below middle of handle bar, the issue can be either that racer screw(that's what they call) might be too tight or little loose. I have written a mail with pics to bajaj for this. Will keep posting the update.

Regarding black sludge I haven't seen that yet but will confirm if it is there for me or not as service people have used a lot of chain lube to rectify the sound issue (unnecessarily[emoji12] [emoji13] ).

Gearshift is little better than before and it will be fine with more kms we will clock.

                Regards,
                Piyush.

I am sure the "sound" issue is not an issue at all. It is present on most FI bikes and it is audible while accelerating.

Its 750+ on odo and and about 10 days.

Its a good byke for this price.
Good riding posture, Head lamps, Descent Power.

Tyres are not that confidence inspiring, Switching to Michelin will solve the issue I think.

ECU mapping is very poor, Sometimes it feels sluggish.
Low end Torque is very low.
Say I am on 5th Gear running at 45Km, Throttle is at 5~10%, And If I try wide open throttle with out downshift to over take a car, Engine will start knocking.
Its really irritating as I was used to Bull 500's Torque.

I think Bajaj will roll out ECU updates fixing these problem.
But the thing is to get ECU, we need to stick with regular service and service centre. I am kind of DIY guy and hates service centre, So how do I get the updates.

Third-party ECU like Powertronic will be an option if they release one for dominar.

Coming from a bullet 500, you need to relearn how to change the gears to utilise the horsepower. Can't rely on torque in sport bikes. What are you doing in 5th at 45kmph?

You should be at 3rd gear for good pulling power at 45 kmph.

Exactly 3 rd gear is the need of the hour here, but 4th can also do the job. I have heard from many that the bike dies at less than 25kmph in 3rd but yesterday i pulled it from 18kmph in 3rd and no protest.

If you're talking about the Fuel Injector or FID's hissing sound, that shouldn't be audible in 3rd gear under engine/other noise. I keep hearing the hissing sound in my R15S in idle and 1st gear, then it gets dominated by the engine/exhaust sound once in 2 digit speed.

                          Regards.

Does anybody have fuel gauge problem?. The fuel gauge does not show the amount of petrol remaining while the engine is running. I have to switch off and turn it on again to check the fuel. Is this common in all Dominars?.

Not common, though i have heard other owners report similar problems here.

In higher gears, if you are passing by any vehicles or on a flyover and you are riding close to the wall, you can still hear it. At least on mine I can. Only on open roads it doesnt come.
