Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
May be it's time to avail that recall thingy. Do visit SVC if u haven't undergone the gasket & Loctite sealing. Meanwhile u can ask the SVC person about the problem.Originally posted by vsbharani View PostGuys, am facing some weird problem. When my bike is parked in rain for min half a day, while driving the engine gets switched off. It was not at all turning on, unless i open the petrol tank cap and shake it. Also when i start again, I starts with some loud thud noise from the silencer.
Should be any issue with FI or tank cap?
I faced this thrice in a same day and again faced two days back. (Thank god, it got switched off in slow moving traffic due to rains)

You got impure/ adulterated/water mix petrol in tank. Check tank lid if water leaking inside through.Originally posted by vsbharani View PostGuys, am facing some weird problem. If engine starting by opening tank lid then it may be air lock problem also. Get it checked at svc. Air lock issue is common in some bs4 bikes as tank is sealed and fuel vapours circulate through orange color rubber hole in tank lid. May be it is choking.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
They have done the same thing to me and 13 othersss.... They are not doing their job as per yamaha instruction.....Originally posted by Joe29 View PostI went to the SVC today for the recall. They didn't replace anything, they only applied loctite to the bolt inside the head
. Is that enough? or should I push them for bolt replacement as well?.
I asked them but they ignored saying that, they change these parts on those bikes who have some serious looseninh issue....

Hi All,
I'm facing a weird problem. Black center part of my petrol tank is very vulnerable with just scratching nail by minimal efforts. And it looks very bad. Anyone also facing this issue. Please reply, or what I can do to protect my tank. Thanks in advance.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
They just applied loctite to the bolts and applied yellow paint on the two bolt as a mark that the work has been done. Didn't change the bolt or even the O-ring. I asked them if they could change the both but they should they are in good condition and not required to change.Originally posted by Joe29 View PostI went to the SVC today for the recall. Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I feel the bike's engine is sensitive to heat. When I ride at night, the machine sounds very smooth. But today during noon I rode around 15 kms through village roads at speeds around 30 kmph, I noticed a very throaty engine noise like grrr.. and khit khit. It was really annoying and sounded like one made by an old/aged engine. May be the low temperatures at night makes all engine parts in sync with each other and high temperatures make them loose.

Fz25 engine tappet setting is very sensitive, if set slightly tight then there will be some sound in hot engine and if set slightly loose then some sound in cold engine. Though its just a sound, nothing to worry.Originally posted by Sai ashish View PostI feel the bike's engine is sensitive to heat. When I ride at night, the machine sounds very smooth. Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hi guys,
After in a dilemma b/w RTR200 and FZ25, I finally booked FZ25( it was on April 2017) and got my bike delivered by May (payed extra 10k due to new tax rules in karnataka
). With 8 months out I successfully completed 8600 kms with an average fuel efficiency of 34 kmpl (80 % riding in crap Bangalore traffic). The bike did not gave any issues apart from the low visible area of the LED headlamp and one of the screw from Saree guard got cut recently(got replaced it). Only 3 times I visited service centre and two of them was for initial 2 services and one for adjusting headlight. For the first 500 kms engine used to heat more as I was communing through heavy traffic and gear shift was hard. But after first service, engine was smooth and heat emission reduced and also gear shift became smooth. Handling of bike is very good and power ratios throughout the gear also at its best.
Overall satisfied by the bike and planning to have auxilliary LED headlights to increase the viewing area.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
How many mechanics are found to be very knowledgeable here? They say whatever comes to their mind and their saying is not based on any evidence or facts. Ask them why? and they will have no answer. I recommend to do your own research.[/QUOTE]
Hi Bro,
Very true indeed... Mechanics with knowledge are very few these days... That's why I have the same mechanic for my RX 100 since 2001...Last edited by Sai Madhav; 01-11-2018, 11:10 PM.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I have the tappet noise at idle. The SVC adviser told its ok for now but better I don't wait till second service and get it adjusted earlier if the sound increases. Should I actually get it adjusted or let it be as many people are telling its common for this engine/higher capacity engines.Originally posted by ankit.traveller View PostFz25 engine tappet setting is very sensitive, if set slightly tight then there will be some sound in hot engine and if set slightly loose then some sound in cold engine. Another Doubt I have is, is the engine rpm fluctuation during idle normal?. It just doesn't have a constant hum but keeps varying and doesn't sound smooth, like its got a missing in between. The rpm also fluctuates between 1000 to 1200. Should I get that checked?Last edited by Joe29; 01-12-2018, 06:49 AM.
