Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
First of all don't rev the engine so hard before running for at least a thousand kilometers. And yes it is the tappet noise that comes up when the engine heats up. There is nothing to worry about it as long as there is no impact on the performance.Originally posted by Pratik3011 View Post

I havent revved the engine... Its just standstill i was revving a bit so that the video can record. I am following as per the manual to not go beyond 4.5K rpm and i am keeping it below 4000 RPM all the time.

Alright then. Don't worry about the tappet noise as it gets loose only when the engine gets very hot.Originally posted by Pratik3011 View PostThanks for the reply...

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hi. Small update. Got my 3rd service done at 10000km. Bike is smooooth. For me after about 8500km itself it felt settled in. The original brake shoes were changed. The rear shoe wore more till 5000km for me because I was keeping my foot on the pedal. Only then I realised and corrected it. I think in reasonable use it will last between 12000km to 14000km.
Then injector cleaner was used. Air filter element changed. Altogether came 3150. The brake shoe part and service cost came to a large part of the bill.
One thing I noticed is more wear on the front tire for me. Rear looks new. Maybe by 15 to 18000km the front will come for replacement. I ride for a small bit everyday on stony roads.
Service took 2.5 hours. Most time taken by the rear brake service. I am very happy with the bike for my use. Manages to work in many roles. Sedate, hard rushed riding equally well. And the mileage for me was a big thing. 41 consistent. It depends a lot whether you open the throttle quickly or smoothly.
One thing I noticed at the service place was the crash guard. The company original is very well made. There are similar cheaper local ones but quality difference is high. Would suggest to stick with the original.
Hope the machine continues to perform to expectation.

Glad to see you enjoying the bike. Also a very reassuring for us new owners. For the rear brake, get the brake lever adjusted from the showroom. Will rectify pad life. Also, I'd suggest you to stick to the stock mrf for the front tyre as it is an excellent fit for someone with your sedate driving style. For next service, do try the motul 7100 fully synthetic oil. You'll thank me later.Originally posted by Kirankarunan View PostHi. Small update. Got my 3rd service done at 10000km. Bike is smooooth. For me after about 8500km itself it felt settled in. Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Ah yes, my odo's at around 9K and I have noticed the same as well. The engine is very smooth under sedate riding conditions (Rpm kept below 5k), which is quite nice and relaxing to ride. By the way, how is your bike behaving when pushing it hard to 7-8k Rpm, does it get vibey (under the seat/tank, handlebars)?Originally posted by Kirankarunan View PostHi. Small update. I somehow don't like the stock tyres at all, as they are very unpredictable, and slips even with a light spread of sand on the roads. Even the 200NS' Euroslips, used to fare better under these conditions. The next change will be the revz FC1s and the massetter, hopefully they'll be good.Originally posted by Amrit.Singh View PostAlso, I'd suggest you to stick to the stock mrf for the front tyre as it is an excellent fit for someone with your sedate driving style. Thinking of going for the Shell AX7 during the 3rd service, FS oils are a bit of a overkill for my usage. Does anyone have any experience with the AX7?

My only issue right now is vibrations on the left footpeg. Has that gone away for you?Originally posted by Kirankarunan View PostHi. Small update. Got my 3rd service done at 10000km. Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hey bro, was waiting for your update.Originally posted by Shamanth Gowda View PostWell after the service the vibration at 5k rpm is reduced to 50 percent. Now there is just buzz but have to see how this holds up for another 100 km. Only then it'll be permanent fix. Hopefully it'll be only a buzz which I can live with. Anyways I'll switch to motul 7100 at 7k km and share my experience after that.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Thanks for the reply. The rear brake is fine. My incorrect usage was causing wear. Still came to 10000km. Yes I am happy with both tires. I always ride single and within city limits.Originally posted by Amrit.Singh View PostGlad to see you enjoying the bike. Also a very reassuring for us new owners. Regarding the oil. Currently cost 676 mrp for 1.6 litres. The motul would be much more. It might be better but I have this thing with following specifications. So if it's good enough for Yamaha good enough for me :-) just my view.

Hi no that doesn't happen now. I always ride with shoes and gloves so can't feel anything. At about 9000km on I did some hard riding taking to full speed for a week. That time when it's pushed and heated up, bit more noisy.Originally posted by ramdante View PostAh yes, my odo's at around 9K and I have noticed the same as well. I really didn't face that problem for it to go away. Was very vibey till 1k, after 5k was better, after 8.5k still better, and 10k now everything seems smooth. My understanding is take care during running in. It's engineered that way.Originally posted by JyotishmanS View PostMy only issue right now is vibrations on the left footpeg. There was some talk about the exhaust rusting a few pages back. One possibility is that one uses a hard brush or scouring pad to clean it, the paint comes off. Then it will rust. Otherwise mud cakes on and looks not so nice but still the paint is functional underneath.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hello.. Well after the 2nd service the vibration at 5k rpm has reduced to 50 percent. Also tappet noise when engine is hot has reduced as well. But above 100kmph engine seems more stressed than before. I'll change oil to 7100 at 7000 km . Yamalube lasts 2000 km for my riding style. I'll share my experience after using 7100.Originally posted by JyotishmanS View PostHey bro, was waiting for your update.

Does engine feeling stressed mean loss of power or increased vibrations?Originally posted by Shamanth Gowda View PostHello.. Vibration on footpegs and underseat. This bike doesn't have good top end so anything above 105 makes the engine feel stressed.Originally posted by JyotishmanS View PostDoes engine feeling stressed mean loss of power or increased vibrations?

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I have handled the bike as Yamaha has instructed. Now, referring to a fellow forum member's post, it has been mentioned that the engine feels stressed post 100kph after his second service. Did you face something similar?Originally posted by Kirankarunan View PostThanks for the reply. The rear brake is fine. My incorrect usage was causing wear. Still came to 10000km. Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I face vibrations on footpegs after 100kph too, but never have i felt like the engine is losing power, or the bike's losing control, even till about a 125kph. Have you faced loss of power as such?Originally posted by Shamanth Gowda View PostVibration on footpegs and underseat. Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
The bikes goes till 125 easily but it doesn't want to do it for long duration that's what I feel when I push it hard. I ride at 85 to 110 on highways but for cruising I stick to 85 to 95 which is the sweet spot in my experience, also gives good mileage . Over 100, mileage drops drastically.Originally posted by JyotishmanS View PostI face vibrations on footpegs after 100kph too, but never have i felt like the engine is losing power, or the bike's losing control, even till about a 125kph.
