Hello, Xbhpians I am planning to purchase the new FZ S V 3.0 but I am not sure is it worthy to buy or not? What's its mileage as well because after ABS the second thing is mileage?

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
The mileage wouldn't vary significantly from the current model because the engine and transmission is to remain the same. Minor difference in the weights of the version could alter the FE very negligibly.Originally posted by Aman Jolly View PostHello, Xbhpians I am planning to purchase the new FZ S V 3.0 but I am not sure is it worthy to buy or not? Currently the bike averages 30-31 kmpl in short city daily runs with heavy traffic and limited top gear running.
On the highway and with cruising, should easily return 35 & above

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Had the exact same issue.. got both the clutch and the accelerator cables changed. This actually even resolved my sticky hard gear shift issue as wellOriginally posted by Joe29 View PostHi, I am facing a sticky throttle issue. It doesn't come up during riding though, and noticed the bike has it just now, when I was cleaning and lubing my chain.
How serious is it?. I took it out for a spin after lubing and it doesn't show up during riding, maybe because I rotate the accelerator back when braking.
The nearby service center won't take or even look at the bike now, because saturdays they will be filled by the time its 9 or 9.30.
If only the cable needs adjustment, maybe I could take it there, but last time had a bad experience, with them telling me to come on Monday and they can't even look at the bike.
If it needs a replacement, Can I continue till next weekend or is it an Urgent matter?.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks a lot Kirankarunan for recommending my video.Originally posted by Kirankarunan View PostHi if it's sticking in open position then that's dangerous. Guess it's less of a problem sticking in closed. On YouTube, Life of Pal has a nice video about lubing the throttle assembly on top. If it resolves with that, that's good. If not then warrants a trip to service center.

----consecutive posts auto-merged-----Originally posted by Abhilash831989 View PostHello Muthu,
Welcome to XBHP, will try to reply to your queries in point wise manner. my bike is approx 1 year OLD with 4k in ODO.
1. Maintenance & Mileage: for first three free services it should amount to 900 after that it should go to 1500 to 2000. i feel the maintenance cost is not that much. Fuel efficiency for this bike is plus point as i get around 35-38 in city traffic.
2. Reliability :i feel the bike is reliable, no fork bent or oil leakage in my bike, however headlight is below average as illumination is very bad and it shakes a lot. the quality of bike is average. the same is quality is offered by other manufacturers due to cost cutting. (the actual cost of bike is less than a lakh other costs are various taxes , insurance etc.)
3. paint quality of frame is ok, rusting issue is noted in silencer.
4. point no. 4 is very subjective and varies from person to person. i feel its is VFM. (i got it for 1.39)
the one issue i dont like about Fz25 is gear shifting, its very harsh and robs riding pleasure on a daily basis. further the small niggles reported in early variants must have been taken care by yamaha in latest (ABS) version.
Hope this helps.

But any day a unicorn or splendor will be cheaper to maintain. Depends on what you want. It has a different maintainance schedule from a 150cc bike. Tires will last around 20 to 25k in city use. Fork needs oil change every 10k. But on a 150 it will last much much longer and cost less. So see your usage carefully and buy. This was not clear to me when I bought as I didn't have experience with bigger bikes than 150cc. I would buy this bike again as am happy with it.
Hi Kiran and Abhilash,
Thanks for the replay! I have narrowed down to FZ25 ABS. My usage will not be much as I too will only do around 500 km a month as mentioned earlier and touring is very rare or may be once in a year. Hope this bike will be a perfect replacement for my vehicle.

Great. Hope you enjoy a long ownership. Would suggest to identify a good service center with experience on this bike. I had poor experience with most I tried.Originally posted by Coolmuthu7 View PostThanks for the replay! I have narrowed down to FZ25 ABS. .Last edited by Kirankarunan; 02-05-2019, 06:12 PM.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Not really, but check the oil level, most likely svc has put 1.6ltr oil instead of 1.45ltr. so it gets sucked out sometimes via breather pipe.Originally posted by rajan_coolrock00 View PostEngine Oil deposited on air filter case.
Odo on 3.5k kms
Changed air filter element @ 1k kms
Anything to worry about?
Anyway, installed iridum spark plug (DR8EIX) today @4611 odo. idle rpm seems to be lower than before and bike takes more time to start once engine is warm enough, probably needs adjustment. no difference in performance.Fz25 2018 (ABS retrofitted)

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hi,
Can anyone from Bangalore guide me to a good SVC near electronic city.
Till now I have given it to Yamaha Whitefield. But didn't have a good experience last time.
It's my fourth service, and want to change fork oil, tighten the conset, change cables, oil, spark plug, clean the injector etc.
So want to give it somewhere reliable as it's a major service.
Thanks.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Nothing to worry about. All oil boxes have oil drain nipple/passageway, which is caused due to blowby from the engine being rerouted to the intake via the airbox. Periodically cleaning the air filter and airbox help clean the airbox clean.Originally posted by rajan_coolrock00 View PostEngine Oil deposited on air filter case.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hello All,
New joiner here.. I bought FZ25 in June 2018. I have done some modifications as per my travelling needs.
When I bought FZ25 in June, I had to visit Mumbai due to some work. I decided to try fz25 for that journey.
That 5 A.M. Pune-Mumbai Journey highlighted 3 modifications on this machine.
First of all that Windblast.....There was tremendous amount of windblast above 90Kmph. It was so fierce that It could tired out body even after 100km ride.
Second was poor High Beam Headlight Throw. At one dangerous Turn at Khandala Ghaat, I could not see one turn properly. It was a dangerously close call. So, A strong pair of AUX lights was need of the hour.
And,
This could be a minor one, but driving in the early morning to the work without hand gloves will literally freeze your palm. So, As one friend suggested, I installed handguards. I know that's not their purpose, but hey, They do get job Done..
So here's the list:
1.lluvia Industries Windshield
2. CREE L9X 60 degree flood Lights
3.lluvia fog lamp mounts
4. Autologue design traction pads and some radium graphics.
5. Golden Fork wrap
