As if the disk brake is touching metal or something is rubbing against the brake disk or pad. Last time during washing I had sprayed enough water at the disks to rule out dust particles rubbing against the disk.

Dont know exactly what it is.
Anyone faced this issue or point out what it could be. ?

    Thank you.
Disc brakes tends to get dirty and it just needs cleaning from time to time. Yeah, the water wash doesnt really work as it might after few kms of riding it comes back again. The reason being as dust, mug, etc gets clogged into disc pads which when rubbed against disc makes this annoying sound and its impossible for water to clean it from outside. So what i do is take of the callipers and then the pads and observe it , you would likely to see grooves on pads which needs to be rubbed by sand paper(use 100grit) softly to make it a even surface. And use the same sand paper to rub against the both sides of disc in circular motion creating light patches. Clean the pads and disc with clean cloth and try checking it out. Also clean the callipers using clean cloth as much as you can. And fix back the pads and callipers.
Remember not to touch the front brake lever when the callipers are off.

If your brake fluid and calliper piston are in great condition than i suppose this would work for sure.

I need help in decoding the above chassis number. All I need to know is if this bike was manufactured in year 2019.

I tried but unable to figure it out.

It is manufactured in 2019. 10th digit, K stands for manufacturing year. J for 2018, K for 2019.

                  Hi All,

Regarding the vibes in footpegs. It is very noticeable from 3500 - 4000RPM and post that range it reduces and the vibes comes back while decelerating and the bikes comes back to the 3500 - 4000 RPM range. It is very weird and annoying as in Bangalore conditions you mostly cruise around in that RPM range.

                  Anyone had such similar issue?

                  Cheers,
                  Aswin

I read on dominar thread that d390 break lever is for inr 1900. Why so expensive? Even a minor fall in parking due to side stand can break the lever.

Front end crash would mean a fortune with tft display, ride by wire, even the lever.

I was planning to remove those chunky knuckle guards and rear view mirrors to bar end ones to make front end light. But I guess I will keep them now.

Even we are cluless, apart from the fact that it's adjustable, the price factor when compared to the clutch and the brake lever is strangely not justified. But perhaps the folks at Bajaj know better. Maybe it's a forged unit, as forged items are comparatively costlier.

                      Cheers!

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

My 2017 duke's right side indicators are on even after removing the key. I tried removing the hazard flasher then the indicators went off but the bike won't start and tft is showing that kill switch is on. After installing hazard flasher again the right side indicators are permanently on and bike is starting. Right now I have removed hazard flasher so that battery does not get drained over night. Guys any inputs why this might be happening?

It comes along with the master cylinder and being adjustable it costs the way it is.. even normal lever cost about 800rs to 1k. And being a ktm part it not over priced at all infact it's vfm compared to other brands [emoji38].

Figured it out guys, the hazard flasher had gone haywire due to water seeping in from washing, I removed the hazard flasher and installed the stock plug, now the bike is back to normal. [emoji4]

                              Hi All,

I have written a context and question part you can skip context if you want.

                              Context
I have decided to go with Duke 390 from CBR250R , I just love the raw power and I got bored with CBR and it has become old as its 2011 model. I did took test ride of bikes like Kawasaki Ninja 300, BMW G310r and RE Twins. The reason I dropped Kawasaki is because of service as there's only one service center in Chennai and same goes for BMW apart from being over priced (in my opinion) and higher service costs. The RE twins on other hand are different bikes and pretty good but not something I found comfortable ( I'm just 5'7) to use in city which is where I would be using the bike mostly and also I'm not into classic bikes. There was also the CB300R but it doesn't excite me like Duke does, the only downside is Duke is pretty loud styling but that's something I can live with and it fits perfectly what I want in bike right now.

I have been following the thread and found that whatever issues were found in 2017 models were fixed via software updates and also were given extended warranty of 3 years and also most issues are resolved in 2018 model onwards and 2019 model has slight changes like new grab rail etc. So its safe to say KTM listens to its customers which is one more reason to go for KTM.

                              Question
I'm considering both second hand and new bike for purchase, I found a 2018 model with just 1100 kms and owner is asking for 2.5 lakhs which is negotiable and new 2019 model on road costs 2.88 lakhs in Chennai which includes the 5 year insurance.

What are the things I should be looking out for if I decided to buy second hand bike ?
What would be the appropriate offer that I can make for the bike I mentioned so that I would sound reasonable ( I'm personally think around 2.2-2.3 lakhs )?
Last but not least which one is the XBhpian's approved authorized service center for KTM in Chennai ?

                              Regards,
                              Mohan

Good decision . The White Duke is less flashier than the Orange Duke - at least to my eyes.

                                On your question -
Find out how many of those 1100 kms have been at over 8000 rpms, and that too on a cold bike. Very difficult to judge really, so I would say get the new one for the paltry difference.
