Went for 2nd service today. Got to see white colour at length. It looks so bland compared to orange. I can't understand how anyone can buy it in white.

Those who prefer less flashy colours will opt for White.
If it was Black and I was to go for 390, I would have gone for full black with absolutely no traces of Orange anywhere except the crank case and may be chassis.

The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place. It will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it.

+1 to that! It's about time KTM work up. The segment is heating up with so many great options with funky colors. A darker shade would pull in new customers who aren't into the orange colour.

I wanted saddle bag panniers for my bike. Only available on marker is Zena or Zana or something like this. Hmmm, I believe that thing is well made and useful, BUT it is ugly as hell and looks awful on such beauty as Duke.
So, I made my own. Final cost was 4900. Yes, it is pretty costly, but only because I made one. If here are more people who wants it and order it same time, then price will go down. I think that you understand manufacturing business principles.
I didn't make film (nor nice photos) about it yet, but in this video you can see it.

They told four wheels were better then two.
              So, I bought another motorcycle!

Hi Folks, Greeting to all fellow riders!
It feels good to be able to write instead of just read interesting things about your motorcycle. This is my first time writing here, so If I make any mistake or something, please correct me.

                Issue in Short:
I have an interesting issue with with my Duke 390 2014 model fuel tank. Two bolts out of 6 that are responsible to hold fuel pump tight under belly are freely rotating. Due to this, I am not able to remove my fuel pump(which is in good condition as of now).

                Details:
It so happened that my motorbike started to give small hiccups and I decided to get the throttle body, fuel injector and fuel pump cleaned. I took it to a trusted expert. The FI and throttle body cleaning was done. After that we decided to open fuel pump and clean it a bit. While removing the fuel pump from under the belly of tank, one of bolt started rotating freely while we tried to remove it. We hoped it was only threads and not the female nut that is fitted in fibre body, and it turned out to be the same.
The lower two bolts turned out to be having same issue. Good thing was that the gasket was damaged. Due to this the fuel is not coming out.
We decided not to force remove it anymore. The bike has a ODO running of 39000kms.

                Questions:
I am looking for any guidance onto how can I remove that bolt without damaging fuel pump and fuel tank.
If anyone has had the same problem, then please share that too. In my group, there is none who has the same issue ever.
How come did this happen as I had never got the fuel tank opened in past. Is it due to KTM giving me a faulty fuel tank which had this issue?

                My observations about this issue:
I feel there are two things done wrong by company:
                1. The torque that was used to tighten the bolt was more, which freely rotated the bolt and his female nut.
                2. Design of the female nut that is embeded into fibre tank is round in shape. Had it been in a square shape, it would have been difficult to torque it more than prescribed.

Please help me in this regard. I am sorry if I am not correctly posting here as this is my first time here.

Got 2nd service done today. Costed about 2200 inr. Got one of rear view mirrors changed. Costed only rs182 + tax. Thats pretty cheap and quality is good.

Thinking of gifting one to (imaginary) girlfriend to keep in purse. Whenever she wants to check hair/makeup etc.

Do you guys tightened the chain at normal garages or take it to the SVC all the time ?
160 rs seems to me pretty high for chain tightening and lubing..

                    Thank you
under normal conditions you wouldn't need to adjust the chain at-least until around 4k km. why don't you try this: bump up the rear suspension by 1 point and check if you still notice the noise.
prices seem to vary from svc to svc when it comes to chain maintenance (adjust/clean/lube).
adjusting the chain isn't different from other bikes.. but a paddock definitely makes the work easier.

i get the chain adjusted if required and it is mostly at regular services.. i dont get charged separately for it.
even the one off case where i need to get it adjusted outside a service, my svc will do it for free/complementary (i just tip the guy 50rs).
the chain lubing part, again the svc i visit will do it for free (they use used engine oil to clean/lube the chain) and sometimes i provide the lube in a can (nulon grease spray) if am heading out on a tour or riding in the wet. some people might scoff at using used engine oil to lube a chain.. but i don't care it works well for me and am not advising this to anyone. my chain and sprockets are happy at 38k km (with only the front sprocket changed at around 27k km).
i am lucky to have a svc close to where i live that won't charge for chain clean/lube or small 5 min adjustments/work.. and also a good rapport with them helps. when it comes to certain other aspects they do behave like any other svc

Exactly. For me a bike means, it's BLACK. I dislike any other color on bikes. It's disgusting to see how many manufacturers are skipping the black color. No color can win beauty contests than a well polished and maintained BLACK color.

I found an option on the bike which allows us to choose the unit of tempreture to be celcius or Fahrenheit but the bike doesn't show tempreture reading anywhere. Is there an option available to display tempreture reading?

For the guys who are facing issue with bike shutting off at idle and rpm going going all over the place.
Have a look at the autochoke.
I have a 2015 rc 390, my bike used to shut off at idle, no matter what i did the bike just wouldn't idle.

We tried many things but none worked after a lot of days we found the autochoke to be the culprit, as it controls the idling.

This part is available separately and costs around 1000/-

                          P. S - i dont get my bike serviced at the svc, not for major work nor the 1st service was done at svc. Engine rebuild was also not done at svc.

That's a good point. Thanks for sharing. However, for a 2015 model bike you have already done engine rebuild? What's the odometer reading and why engine rebuild is done so early?

After 2nd service, acceleration has increased quiet noticeably.

I was under impression its a very quaint machine. But now its ready to fly even if I don't want it to. Have to be careful with throttle. Its somewhat scary.

                                Odo is around 27k kms
Its been about 2000 - 2500 kms since the build.

Oil pump had some issue, oil didnt ciculate properly therefore causing some damage to valves and the piston rings were worn out too, compression was low, piston was in okish condition so instead of getting a new set of rings i just changed the whole block along with valves, timing chain, finger followers.
The crank was fine so didnt open the chamber.

Also i have a prowertronic ecu installed in my bike, i never revved beyond 11k rpm but a few people who had asked me for a ride revved upto 12k rpm during that oil pump issue period, i ended up with a slightly bent valve.

The bike had lost its power, so in the end i just had it rebuild, overall cost was around 20k.
