2) rusting of parts, (nope didn't come across anything as that)
3)panel gaps on both of the sides of the fuel tank (not for me, built is all good)
4)brake screeching n squeaking even after visiting svc (this depends on the wheather, if it's rainy you will hear Lil squeaky sound and gradually it will recede. For me it was very little that I ignored it. This happened to me once or twice. Every week I do deep cleaning of bike but I never came across such noice)
5)chain getting loose in every 400 to 500 kms (All good for me)
6)mirror getting loose and can't be kept fixed (Not really, it is sturdy and good)
7)the cold start issue in the carb variant (Happens with most of the bikes, but I haven't faced this issue much)
8)hard gearshifts n false neutrals (False neutrals not really but have sometime trouble with downshifting from top gear suddenly)
9)side cowl touching pillion thigh and prone to crackle (Oh this was a issue for me like one week after I bought the bike, then I got used to it because I knew nothing is going to happen as they are built good)
10)big turning radius (can't help it, most of the segment bikes are approx same or little less, get used to it)
11)pillion seat is not sufficient for bit heavy people (Pillion seat is comfortable but I would say they are spacious)
12) low mileage of 35 to 38...(Yep! Something I have been getting from the start. Most of my ride is with pillion and very good traffic. I'm sure in less traffic, no pillion and premium petrol use, it will give 42+ figures)
Thanks for taking the time out and reply to every queries i had made....
As I have seen in reviews that the fi has 55 watt bulb and the card variants have 35 watt halogen bulb. If it's so, can the 55watt bulb be fitted in the carb variant?

Yeah can be fitted ,Apache 200 's headlight will be a direct fit !
I hope all your queries were replied by Lin and regarding turning radius ,yup it's bigger one because of the longer wheelbase here.(will be manageable as days passby)

AN UNUSUAL TRIP TO YERCAUD HILLS:

Being a bike enthusiast , we do love rides to the farthest places around different hill stations, tourist places and much more.
I was craving right from my childhood for these days in my life .

I don't want to be a Rossi but to become a tourer, who would explore many places possibly !!

FIRST HILL RIDING EXPERIENCE :

As mentioned above ,this was my first time experience with my new beast .After finishing the first service ,I decided eventually to took him (Apache 160 4v) to hill station ASAP.

November 8th,2018

Though it's being located nearby my hometown ,I'd never been there before on 2 wheels. The day before me and my friend decided to go there and spend few hours .
Anyhow no halting was planned .It was around 8 AM , November 8th I reached his home and we were getting ready...

UNEXPECTED ROUTE :

The actual route to YERCAUD HILLS is Dharmapuri-via salem-yercaud and will be around 200 KMS from my home.(up&down) Mostly all riders from Bangalore/ Chennai use this route.

But to my surprise ,my friend suggested me to take the local short route as it will save much time.I too was agreeing and it was the time to check off roading capabilities too.

The short route is just about 120 KMS
(up& down ) from my home !! It wasn't much good but kinda okayish for bikes to tackle .
A village named karadiyur was the highlight and it's the last taluk of the yercaud hills. From here I remember the milestone was mentioning about 27 KMS to YERCAUD.

YERCAUD HILLS :

Yercaud is a hill station in Salem District, in Tamil Nadu, India. It is located in the Shevaroys range of hills in the Eastern Ghats. It is situated at an altitude of 1515 metres (4970 ft) above sea level.

The short route was almost filled with potholes, loose gravel, stones .The bike's performance was amazing and definitely a commendable one. It was easy to twist in turns, and flick around.

There are quite good places to watch around here and I had missed few places anyhow hope to cover those ASAP.

The actual main route is good and it's a loop road with sufficient hair pin bends .
I'd not passed through yet ,but seems worthy!

Yeah the stock mirrors are offering good view ,but I am having parking issues. (the main gate doesn't have enough space)

Will place a new set of RVMs ASAP.

Hi Guys,

Today my bike stalled for in a busy flyover for 10mins. How this happened, was riding as usual with a pillion at a speed more like 15-20 speed (traffic) then suddenly we heard a sound more like tap tap sound from the silencer. This sound I would describe to a bullet bike where u could clearly listen the loud tap taap taap sound from the silencer. OR a engine which looses it's breath. That is the best I could describe the situation.

Now in this 10 mins, I had to do everything possible like kick start, self start, use of choke and all but still the acceleration and the response to the throttle was not right. Many self's and kicks, the engine starts but the acceleration doesn't respond to the throttle correctly. I'm opening the throttle but still the bike was not accelerating at all, felt that to be very weird.

Okay this is the scenario, engine starts, I open throttle and bike accelerates but very less to what I was hoping for, and then next I opened the throttle for few seconds and held it that way, then slowly the engine picked up, when. I closed and it dropped and engine is off.

This sound I have heard before couple of times but never took it seriously, now it led to this.

Since I have gone through this, what I felt is like the bike engine was not getting fuel to its system, may be there must be some clog in the petrol supply system. This is all I can think of.

Any one has any clue on this? Any suggestions are welcomed.

Bike is now 2405 Kms. This Saturday taking it for scheduled servicing, and looking forward to get this rectified.

Thanks in advance.

Check the spark plug, if the noise you heard was like the sound of a lighter.

Its either the air or fuel not getting in properly. So yeah potential block in fuel tube/carburettor jets due to dirt in petrol or a clogged air filter (highly unlikely for 2500kms). Spark plug getting burned/dark early due to too much slow riding in regular heavy traffic is another possibility. But with normal riding spark plug last for more than 20000kms

Hi,

Got the bike serviced today. Told them about the problem I faced.

After the service, the mechanic told me the carburetor connection was loose, attached are the pics which he has taken. Asked him how did that happen, he said if anyone fiddles with the fuel pump to take fuel then this might have happened. It is fixed properly now, no gap.

2nd Service charge "Zero". Asked if they had to top-up the oil, they said the oil level is correct so didn't have to do it.

Hopefully everything will be fine.

#1- I wont say problem but there are some tweaks to be fixed like in loose my gear sensor for Neutral which is happening since my 2nd second service was done and lost my right front indicator in my 3rd service. Since then i m behind the CSC ppl to get that part but no update.

#2 - Yes, i had issue with rear disc, a squeaky noise when brake brake is applied so after no of follows they have replace some bike guage something and the issue is not got fixed.

#3. Overheating has reduced dractically after 2nd and 3 rd service so no need to worry about that meanwhile check ur rpm nd place it between 1 and 2 u can see the downfall even 1 can work in overheating but it can lead cold starts sometimes.
Safe ride,

Guys what is pressure of the tyres that is to be filled. On the bike it's written as 26,30 where as the svc are telling me to fill 26 36. Also are all you using tvs fully synthetic oil?

What else do you expect bro..... It is natural for anything kept under the sun to heat up, especially if it is black color. It is basic physics. Nothing to worry.

I agree it's natural process. But the tank if Apache was much hotter compared to tank of FZs matte finish. Does the finish matter in that?

Also, I am planning to have protective film layering on the tank. Will that affect the paint or plastic during summer?
