Use motul/ shell/ Castrol they are goodOriginally posted by #bpk View PostAfter how much kilometers, the oil loses it's smoothness? Please tell i am planning to pour it in my hornet.
I hope . And 10w30 or 20w50 it's not matters!!!
TRY MOTUL 5100 or Shell AX7 they're way good, cheaper and can be used for
2000-2500 kms hopefully.
PS: oil viscosity will not last more than 2000 kms andso changing oil regularly will be safer for the engine !
While fully synthetic will be costlier (around 1000 bucks will last 3000kms).
Still a lot of study about oil is in progress!!

Thanks for the reply, sometimes i think of just pouring honda 10w 30 oil of 250 rupees and drain it in 2k kilometers, it's not that bad actually !Originally posted by Aswinlogi View PostUse motul/ shell/ Castrol they are good

Re: TVS Apache RTR 160 4V Ownership Experience
Thats what I did on my previous motorcycle (Dream Yuga) for 6 years/60000 Kms and no issues at all. In fact I used to change engine oil every 4000 kms and always used Honda's oil.Originally posted by #bpk View PostThanks for the reply, sometimes i think of just pouring honda 10w 30 oil of 250 rupees and drain it in 2k kilometers, it's not that bad actually !sigpicOm Yamahaya Namaha...praise the lord!

How much free Services you've got ?Originally posted by #bpk View PostAfter how much kilometers, the oil loses it's smoothness? Please tell i am planning to pour it in my hornet.
Did you Finished 3 services yet?
PS: Give try a MOTUL ,as many are giving positive opinions !!

Used 5100, didn't get much difference than honda oil. Currently i am at 2200 kilometers only, i think motul shows it's property after completing 5000 kilometres only. Honda engines need a long time for engine break in, though I've officially completed my run in period but only after 5k kilometers the engine will get set.Originally posted by Aswinlogi View PostHow much free Services you've got ?

Re: TVS Apache RTR 160 4V Ownership Experience
Hi dear xbhpians n 160 4v owners have you faced any issues Such as
1) paint prone to scratch marks,
2) rusting of parts,
3)panel gaps on both of the sides of the fuel tank
4)brake screeching n squeaking even after visiting svc
5)chain getting loose in every 400 to 500 kms
6)mirror getting loose and can't be kept fixed
7)the cold start issue in the carb variant
8)hard gearshifts n false neutrals
9)side cowl touching pillion thigh and prone to crackle.
10)big turning radius
11)pillion seat is not sufficient for bit heavy people.
12) low mileage of 35 to 38...
Thanks n regards..

Regarding issues
*I can say brakes squeaking is mostly felt in all bikes (especially during rainy season and riding in mud surroundings!!)
# But it's annoying anyhow regular cleaning of brake discs and cylinder ,pads will help here.
*Paint is good ,I hope. Though matte color as in 200 cc isn't available !
*My Apache4v (160) is pretty good as new and it's somewhere 850+ kms.
(Returns decent mileage)
*I won't agree with what you'd blabbering!!
REGARDING false neutral LoL I have got only 2-3 false neutrals since from the bike's delivery ! (that too after 1st service)
PS: Only issue I found is brake noise ,thats all.Last edited by Aswinlogi; 11-09-2018, 05:50 AM.

1) paint prone to scratch marks. (Yes, I faced this whenever I placed my helmet on the flue tank, to avoid this get a good tank cover. I'm yet to finalize on one)
2) rusting of parts, (nope didn't come across anything as that)
3)panel gaps on both of the sides of the fuel tank (not for me, built is all good)
4)brake screeching n squeaking even after visiting svc (this depends on the wheather, if it's rainy you will hear Lil squeaky sound and gradually it will recede. For me it was very little that I ignored it. This happened to me once or twice. Every week I do deep cleaning of bike but I never came across such noice)
5)chain getting loose in every 400 to 500 kms (All good for me)
6)mirror getting loose and can't be kept fixed (Not really, it is sturdy and good)
7)the cold start issue in the carb variant (Happens with most of the bikes, but I haven't faced this issue much)
8)hard gearshifts n false neutrals (False neutrals not really but have sometime trouble with downshifting from top gear suddenly)
9)side cowl touching pillion thigh and prone to crackle (Oh this was a issue for me like one week after I bought the bike, then I got used to it because I knew nothing is going to happen as they are built good)
10)big turning radius (can't help it, most of the segment bikes are approx same or little less, get used to it)
11)pillion seat is not sufficient for bit heavy people (Pillion seat is comfortable but I would say they are spacious)
12) low mileage of 35 to 38...(Yep! Something I have been getting from the start. Most of my ride is with pillion and very good traffic. I'm sure in less traffic, no pillion and premium petrol use, it will give 42+ figures)
