ABS is something that has trickled down to the automotive industry from aviation, IIRC. It will not result in any extra maintenance.

As for Fi, still some people are running RTR160 EFi models, the only issue is the availability of spares. I also read a P220Fi review on T-Bhp and bike was overall good according to the owner with no major problems. The new Fi system in the present 200/160 4v is better and the system even maintains the idle speed of the engine, i.e., there is no reason for the SVC to unnecessarily touch it. All entry level cars have gone Fi, there's no carb model car like the 800 or Padmini now - they all run fine - I really don't remember when last my Bro cleaned the injectors on his 90k run i10 (now sold). Only the MAP/MAF sensor was cleaned once. Fi gives you more feel, better economy and less emissions.

Another important thing to consider is the BS6 norms will make all 2-wheeled vehicles to go Fi. One doesn't want to be told after 10 years "Sorry sir, we dont have a carb bowl gasket, no longer produced". Better to go with flow of the market.

The only major negative of the Fi is, you can't start it if the battery dies. Fortunately, both Bajaj and TVS provide low battery indicators and make life easy. The costliest components in the FI and ABS version are the ABS modulator/ECU, fuel pump and the ECU for the Fi system. We don't come across anyone who had replaced these components in their car/bikes regularly (say every 5 years or 25000 kms) due to fault or deficiency in design.

4-wheeler industry is doing fine with Fi, we can too. Let's embrace it.

Here is the older RTR 160 Fi's Service Info Manual, they explain about the Fi in simple terms, have a look:

Thank you, this is really helpful.

As per Government mandate, from 1st April 2019, only ABS model will be on sale.
    Thank you for clarifying.

Definitely the new Apache has been built in such a way that it can run for a long distance hazzle free. As the both air cooling and oil cooling system does their job flawlessly we can't even feel any heat from the engine.

Coming to my experience I 've covered around 300 Kms ride with a couple of ten minutes break .

      Cheers.

LOL we can't install abs on a non-abs bike first and if still you need ,you should spend at least 20,000 bucks !!!

Today I went to Sri sakti saradha tvs on coimbatore and thought of test driving the fi version, but unfortunately they didn't have one. Also the bike that they gave me was the carb single disk variant and it was full of dust. They didn't even wipe the seat before I sat on it. I was looking at the horrible dust all over the test bike, they didn't give a shit. I need to know the best showroom as well as the better service place in Coimbatore. Between I got the price quote for the efi+abs variant, posted a picture below. It's around ₹1.3 lakh. Click image for larger version

Does anyone use any Polish or Shiner for their bike? Any recommendations? Your experience will help me to choose or not to, I own a red color RTR.

Use formula one caranuba wax for painted surface and use sheeba liquid polish for fibre parts.

Doesn't RTR has only fibre parts on the outside except for forks and handle bar? Sorry for my ignorance please correct me if I am wrong.

For painted glossy fibre parts use wax based polish and for matt finished fibre parts use sheeba liquid polish .

                    Thanks.

Hi please help. I'm buying this 160 4v, but in the showroom mechanic itself told me that, for FI variants incase of any problem nobody will know to repair and it's better to get carb. Please help

True. Even SVC people don't have much knowledge about FI. There is no benefit in getting FI, except for controlled emissions.

True. That's the case with most SVC's here, except for Bajaj. TVS guys don't know shit here. Also, I think the repair system will be rather bleak when BS-VI norms are implemented and all vehicles get FI.

Nothing good with Bajaj too. The tacho of my friend's AS200 oscillates between 2k and 2.5k at idle and they can't correct it!!
