A skilled mechanic can work on any kinda bikes ,no Matter it's carburettor or FI !!!
In general, FI ones are maintenance free and better than carb version and by the way the carb ones aren't that bad !!!

Anyhow buy the ABS Version either it's carb or FI .

I'm definitely buying the abs version. Cost isn't a problem. Only thing in my mind is, on fi if something happens and I will be on a lockdown and nobody will know what to do.

I used to hear it in my uncle's 11 year old Victor but only after it aged a lot. Startled at how it's happening on my 2 day old Apache. Since I'm a bit of a noob on this subject, any insight would be much appreciated. TIA.

          That is perfectly normal.

One can't work on FI without the diagnostic tools required. No mechanic would've worked on FI bikes probably. FI technology is kind of proprietary and 99.99% can't be serviced out of SVC (that too a select few SVCs with diagnostic tools).

By FI, I mean the FI system itself. All other components are exactly the same and can be serviced by anyone.

Yeah I too sailing on a same boat nowadays , It isn't a normal condition...!!!The misfire happened in the engine causes such sounds and it's solely caused by carburetor. So during your next service due, kindly ask the SVC to check on this.

There won't be any much symptoms but this causes to reduce the actual mileage , I have seen !!!!

                  Can someone explain this ?

The instrument cluster on the carb version has yellow backlight and misses the gear position indicator as well as the lap timer. The one on the Fi variant has white backlight and is ready for TVS’s Bluetooth connect feature as well (similar to what we saw on the TVS NTorq 125 scooter) whenever TVS upgrades this machine.
I'm still worried whether to go with the FI / Carb , as people are giving mixed opinions about service as well as reliability on FI.
Please tag / Please advise if there are any FI owners here.

Just keep 3 things in mind for FI.
                    1. battery should always be in good condition
                    2. fuel level should be always more than reserve.
                    3. get the injector cleaned at company suggested intervals and never skip.

and you are good to go. there's literally no point going with carb in 2019, we always keep asking companies for newer technologies but never reward them when they do provide fi etc.. future is FI not carb.

What interval does TVS suggest for cleaning of injectors?

In general most of the ASC's are not good at after sales service but anyhow one or more ASC might have got a good name and reputation ,so kindly find the right one.

                              Both are good !!

But maintenance of carb is easier and less cost than FI .

Verdict: If you need a FI model and doesn't worry about the cost (hike around 10K than carb) , better Choose the FI one!!!

                              Cheers.

Hi all, I have did a mileage check by empty tank- tank method .

I emptied the fuel tank and filled a 6L of SPEED PETROL from BPCL ,then riding continuously till the tank is empty again.

The initial trip meter 1 was at 616 Kms and after the ride (consuming 6L) it was about 875 Kms .!!!

RIDE WAS FULLY IN HIGHWAYS WITH SPEEDS OF 70-100 km/ph.

*I mostly maintained 65-80 throughout the ride and some stretch of 50 Kms were at 90- 100's too.

*At 5k RPM it does around 65-75 easily without any stress.

So the accurate mileage figure is :

                                Distance covered
                                Trip 1 reading : 875-615 km
                                Total Kms. : 260 kms
                                MILEAGE. : "43" (260/6).
