Haven't you changed the same, yet?
1st pads was replace at 7k kms
2nd one last abt 10k
3rd one 12-13k
4th one was ASK lasted pretty good abt 12-13k with still lot of meat left. Changed it coz i had to replace the disc.
Right now its abt 7-8k kms since i replaced both the disc and the pads. Still have abt half life left.
pads life completly depends upon usage. I used to rip/rape and hard brake my bike....that is why the 1st set lasted only for 7k kms.
Vishnuu changed his pads for the 1st time @ 27k kms

@ Chicane
Maybe 'feedback' the word I wanted to use..Poor vocab there!
Let me try put it this way.Either the seating posture makes it feel spongy or the tires again playing spoilsport. When you brake hard it tends to break your spine. You are somehow on the tank, and this is the case every time.
If you ride like there's no tomorrow...worry not there won't be!

Change the tyres and see how better the braking becomes. Even still r15 braking is way ahead of RTR's!07 HH Zma

To avoid this I hold the tank tightly with my knees while sudden braking and that provides more confident in braking and avoids us to jump on the tank.Originally posted by shivank View Post@ Chicane

I would suggest you to try the same and check if that helps. The Tank is designed for this purpose.

No buddy, mine has done 9000kms and still the front is in very good condition, though rear i need to check by opening the wheel, but it seems to be in good shape too.Originally posted by chicane1879 View Post@Renny

Answers in BOLDS.Originally posted by shivank View PostMaybe it doesn't go well with the RTR but I am skeptical whether it's not used for any 4-stroke engine...
Heard this word zillion times from Auto-experts and magazines,at least in context to FZ! which is a 4-stroke,I guess!
Muffler as far as I know are to cancel out the noise!
Mufflers were used in 2 strokes exhausts, i have never heard or came across a piece of thing that states it being used in a 4 stroke.
You seem to be taking things very seriously.
I asked why does RTR's brake feel spongy and hard as compared to R15's?
What do you mean by hard here????

Seating position NEVER makes a brake feel spongy, who on earth told you that....
Neither does the tyres make it on the spongy side, they may wreck the grip level under hard braking but will never make them spongy.
RTR's front is real bitey and if you'll be braking it hard without being carefull it will throw you off the saddle. The Magician"

1000 ml AFAIKOriginally posted by theguitarfreak View PostMy third service is almost nearby. Carb will be cleaned in this service as said by the engineer because of the jerking problem. So after the carb cleaning how much engine oil will my bike need? 1000ml or 1100ml or more?Speak Less,Speak Wise!
Sarcasm is my automatic response to stupidity.

Here is a piece of thing you've been looking for.The last line has it mentioned over there clearly:Originally posted by rennycornelius View Post.RTR's front is real bitey and if you'll be braking it hard without being carefull it will throw you off the saddle./B]
Sultan oF Zwing - FZ16 vs Apache RTR vs Pulsar 150 vs Hunk - Motorcycle : Overdrive
Now coming to ride position whilst braking, nobody told me about this(on earth or any other planet) but is out of my own observations!
What you typed in bolds here is what I meant!
@Balaji
Yes dear tried it many times and it helps to get better of the situation too!
But I am still not into habit of this..Will stick to this from now!
Thanks! If you ride like there's no tomorrow...worry not there won't be!

Nops,it's not required at all. May be you have misinterpreted the engine decarbonising procedure with the carb cleaning.Originally posted by theguitarfreak View PostBut its written in the manual that quantity of engine oil required is 1100ml after diassembly. And how, when, what you observed that made you come into the conclusion that riding position makes the brake feel spongy, do share. The Magician"
