All i did was coil rewinding with 19gauge wire and change the RR to the Ape one. Actually a fellow xbhpian DRVMTM made it possible. Im not much of an electricals guy and dont understand any circuits So if you need to know the circuit send him a PM. He will be happy to help. The auto electrician who carried out the conversion was also very knowledgeable. But nothing other than the coil rewinding and the new RR unit is needed. You just need to rewind the coil heavily and get a guy to carry out the mod who knows his stuff. And considering the amount of light you get after it, its totally worth it.

Make the rear shocks setting to 2 or 1 if you're finding the current setting too hard on the spine.

      • Hi guys,
Could any one here give an idea about the price of RTR mirrors in Bangalore? And anywhere they are available?

People here at TVS svc centre are such morons! I've tried 3 service centres and non has the mirrors. Since they don't have they won't even tell the price.
        So help needed guys.

You can try the shops around JC Road but it would be tough to lay hands on genuine stuff. Which part of Bangalore do you reside?

Well you can search around the centres located in JayaNagar,Banerghetta Road(Neo TVS), JP Nagar(Mars TVS). If you dont then ask them if you can place an order for the same.

Already tried the one near Dairy circle, jayanager, near Silk board. No where they are available.

How much do they cost each?

                    • m done with 3k kms on the my 180.. the problem is that at times i experience hiccups even though the tank has sufficient fuel if i don use it for 2 days or so.
i complained to the svc guy n they said they'l correct it. but.there seem to be no improvement. does anyone share the same problem? any suggestions?

another problem that m experiencing is that even with my engine off on a down slope road even if the road is smooth i feel something touching a causing a slight knock at regular intervals.. does anyone has the same issue?
i just hope nothing is out of place because don't want this problem to crop up as a bigger one later.

This has to be the crankshaft issue. This seems to be 2nd such case reported so far here in xBhp. Get the bike inspected by the TVS svc people and stress them for a new part under warranty.

Get the carb cleaned up and also ask them to tune it properly.

                          • Almost every Apache is coming out with some or the other problem. Hiccups, front fork noise and now this crankshaft. Is this how TVS wants to compete with Bajaj and Hero Honda? Most of the post 2010 manufactured P220s are coming out problem free as people are saying at the ownership thread of P220. And lets not say anything about Hero Honda. I know its normal to have a few problems in some bikes but in each and every one of them? These things are make me lose the respect for TVS day by day.

                              Agreed.

The quality of the bikes has degraded from the initial years of operation of the company and it is even more baffling as not so long ago TVS was the first motorcycle manufacturer in the world to be awarded the prestigious Deming Prize(TQM).

                              • @chicane & guitarfreak - thats why i was a little skeptical about getting myself a tvs product. but u see victor & star range dont have that many issues! it not about having problems with the product & facing glitches, but its about how the firm responds to the customers who buy their top-of-the-line product!!! tvs should treat rtr180 customers with some respect, at least the ones who are facing problems. the pathetic service centers are ruining an awesome product!

hope tvs guys read threads here
