Do you expect abs to change top speed?Originally posted by shiwaan View Postnope buddy there was no speed blast i guess and i wasn't in the opposite direction .just checked the TVS website for the top speed mentioned there was 124km top for both Apache RTR 180 and Apache RTR 180 ABS

Anyways I'll suggest you not to check topspeed again and again. IMO if your rtr is going above 120 then it's fine and nothing's wrong with it. But above 130 happens only when wind is helping you. I personally have ridden at 137, above which it just refuses to go further but the point is: It's not good to ride apache above 110 as It feels quite unstable at high speeds. I didn't get an award for riding it above 120 and I believe it's stupidity to ride above 110 and came to know it the hard way. RTR has low end and r15 has top end and it feels quite planted at that speeds.
Enjoy the acceleration, that's what rtr is good at.
About the rtr160: Hmm people on pulsar 150 and gs150r reach above 125
, don't know how. I've ridden the a160 and I feel it's low-end and midrange isn't good enough so I think a180 has benefitted more in that area than in top end.
@prateek: On which bike did you ride at 227? Must have been a great experience.
Also which pilot lamps are those: led or normal bulbs and how much W?

124km/hr is Apache RTR 180's True top speed. The speedo will be showing 134km/hr at that point. And that's what is called speedo error. Almost all motorcycles/cars have it. Many manufacturers set the meters to read high by an amount equal to the average error. This will ensure the speedo never indicate a lower speed than the actual speed of the motorcycle. True speed is tested using special gadgets like VBOX which is based on GPS.Originally posted by shiwaan View Postnope buddy there was no speed blast i guess and i wasn't in the opposite direction .just checked the TVS website for the top speed mentioned there was 124km top for both Apache RTR 180 and Apache RTR 180 ABS

Road level, wind conditions, rider weight etc., will give an increase of 2-3km/hr from what the company claim. The Apache is ever willing to red line each cog, but the Rider ain't. Enjoy RTR, Safely. Period.

Ever considered speedo errorsOriginally posted by shiwaan View Postthat wasnt a video buddy i have seen him driving and when he came back the speed was 126

Even I did 134 but just once, after that even I am unable to go above 130, so I guess its ok and now my top speed recorded shows 160kmph (typical rtr speedo error)Originally posted by shiwaan View Postabs don't change speeds.....

Thanks for the info yaar. I checked it out in the local mechanic & he too said nothing wrong with spark plug & I may have to clean the carb.Originally posted by nisnth View PostIMO spark plug and cables wont have any kind of effect on your mileage. Try changing your Fueling station and get your carb cleaned and tuning done. That should help
Guys, what's up with the Part catalog in the very first post? I see nothing in there! Can some one give me a link of the updated sheet?---------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have made that 126 in my RTR HE.Originally posted by shiwaan View Postnope buddy there was no speed blast i guess and i wasn't in the opposite direction .just checked the TVS website for the top speed mentioned there was 124km top for both Apache RTR 180 and Apache RTR 180 ABS

Get your bike tuned properly and also when going in such speed make sure you lean down your body completely on the tank. Also the inital pick acceleration should be good, like shift gears at 6k-7k rpm.
That will help out.
Still you are finding issue check the wheel alignment and if any friction on disc pads.
Also make sure that you have enough petrol. This is something I have found. When the petrol is less I dont get that much acceleration. Maybe it might be my feeling
or maybe bike has Artificial Intelligence
