Abhi: Its good to know you are gaining Much....As i remember the reason behind your putting the achievers front sprocket was that you were doing lot of touring...Anyways....My Updates are....I am having oversize piston...dont really know about the size...Well bored...Zma's camshaft....My bike met with an accident.... My Friend was driving...That time i had the k&n fitted in the air filter box....Got fork bend, Rim Bend, Bracket bend, Ferring did also break on he edges. The bike was running just awesome till this point of time. There was so much torque that in 1st, 2nd and 3rd with ususal ripping up the throttle the front end did come up. Now after the accident. All the pick up it had and torque its all gone. Its looses even to stock cbz...I know something is most definately wrong....I just need to trace it out...
Abhi: Did u get the zma's springs on ur cbz...? If yes then how...?

Hey guys i was just browsing through threads and came across one that, for the first time made me feel sad that i had to sell off my CBZ '99 model so i could buy a P220.
My dad used to use this bike everyday in the 4-6k rpm range till i was 16(Now 19 ), after which it probably unleashed it's full potential for the very first time.
I remember picking the CBZ when i was 9 years old only because it was one of the first bikes with a bikini fairing.
Only a fellow CBZ rider would know the sheer pleasure in riding it. Every time you swing one leg over the seat and kick start it, the engine roars making you want to rev even more!
What i loved most about the bike is that it was a no nonsense, performance oriented one. It was meant to be ripped hard, and then even harder, no two ways about it.
How i loved the countless times when i smoked pulsar 150's, 180's and sometimes even Zma's.
Guys if you truly maintain your CBZ well, then you'll know what i'm talking about, the grunt was simply mind blowing and till date i haven't seen an Indian bike with an exhaust note like it.
Unlike the new age flimsy machines, this could take any amount of punishment you push it through.
I had done a few modifications like changing the fairing to the Pulsar's, taking off the sari guard, putting a half chain cover, installing an RC1060 K&N filter, upjetting the carb and shaving the head, increasing exhaust port size etc.
I swear, when i ripped the bike hard under a bridge the noise due to the K&N filter and the exhaust was absolutely orgasmic.
I really miss it a lot.

          • And boy how did i miss this thread. I own a 2005 CBZ Star - (black yellow)

This is my 1st bike and i was all hooked up to it the day i saw it. Lot of people suggested to go for newer technology aka unicorn but as you know, the heart was stuck with CBZ.

Initially, it was a dream to ride post 70. And as human tendency, the greed grows on you and then you want more, more power, more acceleration.
My bike is still in good shape but lacking performance or maybe i feel the need to push it harder which it doesn't & i dont blame the bike for it.

My bike is still in STOCK condition - planning lot of upgrades for it for a long long long time now..

Thanks guys for starting this thread - its a pleasure to be here. (will post my bike pics soon)

I have a 2001 model & I do not see any much difference in my bike to today from the day I bought it.

Buying second hand bike is always tricky.. if u have a good mech whom you know ask him to take a TD & see how is the engine behaving.

for 44k 2000 model 25k is little high, you can settle in for 20-22k

                            • latest update with a help...

                              guys..
@all: sorry for being disappeared from this thread from so many days was busy with my presentations an all....
@gautam: welcome to the thread dude...
@chirag: liked ur ride dude. me also planning to put xtreme alloys in my babe..

i some days ago fitted a 35w HID to my cbz classic. so all of the stuff like relays and chargers have been fitted.. stock battery is also changed to 7 amp UPS battery... that was my updates and now the problem starts

HID for some 5 days till the time new battery is not fully drained did worked awesomely.. but as the battery drained HID started creating problem.
actually the charging unit is charging @ rate of the normal stock 2 or 2.5 amp battery. as a result charging rate is inadequate as per the 7 amps battery...
though i have installed a charger which is charging the new battery at much faster rate but is still inadequate.... so is der any more ways to increase the charging rate rather then coil rewinding becuse rewinding has it's own probs.i have heard off.

BTW i have dis functioned meter bulbs and the normal rear light bulb so as to reduce the battery load....

                              thnx
                              regards

Bro i sold my 1999 model, ported cbz with a K&N filter and front pulsar fairing for 12.5k!! Do NOT pay more than 15-16k if the bike is in mint condition.

See the pics of my bike on pg 19.
