    • I don't have the latest cost of ZMA shockers' spring. I modded around 3 years back. It was Rs. 3-400 then. Then check, whether some other part is misaligned or compromised. I have heard that the main shocker rod is quite expensive.

even I am planning to change to Zma springs.. mine dives too much when braked & also handling has gone haywire

Need to take out some time & head over to ASC to see what best can be done.

Also can anybody please confirm if ZMA's clutch cable is longer than CBZ's, I have changed my handle to RD handle & this is wider than stock for which the stock clutch wire seems to be little short.

        • gear shifting problem.

Guys, i have a 2002 model CBZ. It has done about 80K Kms. Off late down shifting gears is become a problem. at times it gets so hard that i have to kick the lever to actually shift the gear. what i have noticed is that the problem is not there when i start the bike in the morning or after some break. it is more prominent as the bike heats up. any ideas as to what could be causing this.

from the last two days i have also been feeling that the handling is gone bad. i think that the front shocks are the culprit. i am planning to use zma's shock springs and i inquired about the cost. it is about 450 i think. Is there anyone who has actually used this setup and do you think it will help in improving the handling.

i was also facing the same gear shifting problem some couple of months ago after that bad crash... it was because of the the bent gear shaft that damaged the main bearing in engine...... so get it check bro!!! it may also occur because of worn out clutch plates... to get it check u actually need to open the whole clutch assembly.........

                    • Misfiring at 4.5k RPM

Hello CBZ Lovers.. Sorry for not being on forum after my first post, was stuck in Exams..

Well guys, I have one problem with my CBZ* (Feb-2004 Model). The problem is not serious though but its quite annoying. My bike has started to misfires recently (not very loud but its noticeable) . Whenever I accelerate my bike to shift the gears, a misfire comes at around 3.5K-4.5K RPM. It happens usually when i shift it from 3rd to 4th gear or from 4th to 5th gear. Recently i gave my bike for servicing at HH Showroom, the mechanic told me that its problem with the Air Filter of Bike. I insist him to change it but he doesnt coz of his laziness. He said that he had fix some issues with Air Filter n we should wait till next servicing. Well I wanna ask u guys, what could be the reason for misfire.
My bike is very well maintained n i am not having any problems with engine or anything else.. Its just the Exhaust which is annoying me.. Can anyone suggest me a good mechanic to ask in Pune City..

                      Thanks in advance...

Hey bro anup here.... For the misfiring I'll suggest you clean up the air filter. Change the sponge from the filter box....get the filter clean. You'll see loads of oil there...just clean it and tune the carb....And it will be perfectly fine....Enjoy....the screamer...

                          • @All: My friend who has been crazy about this bike since the time it launched is finally planning to buy a 2nd hand Classic CBZ/Star, but he is slightly worried about the spares support, since it is no longer in production. Could anyone enlighten me on the same? I think the TPFC panels etc.were tough to source even when the bike was in production.
Also, what should be the average price he can shell out for a decent condition vehicle?
Or would it be better to get an old one&do the engine work replacing all components etc.?
Looking forward to your suggestions guys!

Actually I have never found any difficulty with the spares, infact from what I have heard of spares are available but it is just that it will not be in all the showrooms or places & maximum you will get it in 15 days if you place the order with any showroom who will get them from their plant in Gurgaon.

Coming to price - it depends on bike & its condition.

CBZ Classic 2000-2003 model can expect something around 20-25k depending on condition & star would fetch a little more.

                                Thanks for the info Abhilash.
It is reassuring to know that spares are available. I think company continues to produce spares for 15 years from date of discommencement of production.
Anyways, could you give me your honest opinion on getting a 2nd hand CBZ with pros and cons?
I was myself an admirer of the bike's looks during my college days, just like many others.
I know that the sliding type Keihin carb has been replaced with a conventional CV type carb in the Star version, by virtue of which it offers more mileage, but at the cost of reduced accelaration.
I would like to get a long term review from you guys.
