              • What I can make out from the pictures is that lack of multi reflector is blocking the true potential of those HID's. Its better than the stock offcourse But cud had been better with the multi reflector dome. What is the wattage of bulb is it 35W or 55W?

Believe me Its been almost 4 months & more than a thousand kms after I switched to 15t in front & I have got quite used to it & now I do not feel like the initial is low & the Icing on the cake is to reach 60kmph @ just 4k rpm.

                    do update your experience

                    • Exhaust drill

                      hi, CBZ'ans....
today i just read 15 pages of this forum..
i feels like i gained lot of knowledge. thanx 2 u guys
let me introduce myself, i m SAtya, frm pune, rides OCt 2000 CBZ (5522)
i want share a experience with u guys about exhaust pipe.
two months back while riding frm my home to work, i realized some gain in acceleration of my bike, also felt very nice pick up.
after observing i seen my silencer pipe just got tear off, right behind the foot peg, i think it's due to rusting of pipe. also felt my bike making some more noise..
afterword i took it to the local weld shop and done welding.
but afterward taking ride i immediately realized drop in performance compared prior to welding..
then i realized that due to almost 9 years of usage/riding, my silencer got clogged/jammed by carbon molecules>(i hate chemistry).
so after goolglig and chating with my frnds, i decided to drill a 5 to 7 mm hole in the exhaust pipe just before welded region, and guess what i clearly felt the result.
though reducing back pressure into the exhaust pipe makes piston load decreased but slightly increases the noise level. but i just love that combination of sound coming frm tail of silencer and drilled hole. every time i goes beyond 4K rpm it gives a awesome feel and gusty exhaust note.
also considerably incresed the fuel economy..

i think i will post few pics so u guys may get clear idea..
                      SAtya..

(i dont want to violet IS-3028/ISO-362)
                      got bhp?? oh yeah..its Xbhp

                      • My Experience of CBZ star

                        Hello Friends,

My name is Shridhar n i am from Pune, I own a feb-2004 CBZ star. she has crossed 33000Km mark on ODO. I read a lot about the unrefined engines of CBZ n its very low average but surprisingly i never felt such un-refinement in my bike's engine. It feels smooth like Honda Unicorn. It gives me average of 50-52 KM/l in Pune city's heavy traffic.. I ride my bike at a speed between 50km/hr to 60km/hr. Till now i have attempted 110Km/hr mark on my bike with pillion rider.. I havent modified any part of my bike. I just do service it regularly at HH showroom after every 3000Km. My bike feels awesome. I just love my baby... n still she can hunt down pathetic pulser n fancy FZ's with ease.

Hello, actually it is an old bike which has been explored to its deepest cleavages. Many of the bikers on this forum have owned or ridden this bike in the past and have since moved on to other more appealing bikes. The new younger lot cannot lay their hands on this bike since it is not available in the primary market. Only the second hand ones, mostly in bad condition, are available. Even most of you posters here have purchased the bike second hand. Hence, no repeated and frequent posts. I think the thread will become a tool to help us maintain the bike in good stock condition with reasonable expenditure. Also in case, if any of us is able to increase the power/speed in a great way, there would be some interesting discussion.

Also, this bike was meant to be ripped (despite some harshness above 80 kmph). Down the line another few years, you would be able to tell your children that "I had once owned this beautiful and great bike"(in the Indian context).

This was my dream bike&I have written earlier about how I waited for years to buy it, but somehow it evaded me&I landed up with another 150 (Fiero F2).
I still feel the pangs of jealousy when I see a well maintained stock CBZ Classic go past me-first love has that kind of impact.
I know I can easily get one now&restore it, but everything in life has a time for it,&unfortunately, that time has gone past for me. I am now riding an R15&loving it, but nothing can bring back those years of adolescent dreams about a bike&the sense of fulfilment when you are riding the dream.
So, CBZ owners, keep your bikes in top notch condition, coz this was the bike that started performance motorcycling in India!
                                All the best!
