    guys

one query from my side today in that SUZUKI BIG BIKE G2G i have got a suggestion from a very experienced rider who had own a CBZ in past but now is rolling on his zma r ... he told me to switch over to zma's chain set for better division of power.(as gearing in simple words is just the division of power. correct me if i am wrong)...
whats your opinion about it .?
    will this mod be feasible.?
will there be any better response in terms of power.?

    suggestions are invited....

    thanks
    regards
    Jatin

      • Well jatin.....Have you ever tried sprocketting your bike and lowering the final drive ratio from 3.2 to 3.06 or something.....I dont think it would be the same....Even i want to try zma's chain sprocket....Practically speaking the CBZ just doesnt develop that much torque as we all know the stroke length of 47.5....only..... In order to be a match with the zma or atleast to get the correct response its necessary to get the torque up den it wont be a problem. But i was thinking about the same since the zma has shorted 13t front sprocket which would increase the acceleration even more and provide a wheelie friendly engine...

        • hello all.. am vignesh, from delhi.. and I own a 99 model CBZ... one of the very few bikes registered directly from Gurgaon plant I believe.. I bought this second hand owing to its class value, ride height, speed, control, handling etc. I've had this bike for more than 4 years now.. and has been waiting for me since the last 2 yrs in a garage (have been in england).. I have started fixing the bike now... and guys believe me she's awesome.. and thanks to the thread starter coz.. of all those looks that ppl give wen ur at the red lights... relaxed to change to green.. and once it does.. u get to see the devil of the motor inside... and turn the HID's on... wow and see all the pulsars and cbz's on the rear view mirror...

            approx expense including cost of HID+ labour+rr unit+coil modifications = 3200-3400 rs
and my babe is without self-start...

and one thing anyone from this ownership thread from delhi or so.......???
hey jatin, am from delhi and am new to this forum.. thanks to you guys for such a wonderful thread.. I've got HID's on my CBZ.. 2 weeks old.. I can already demand my way on the roads.. but the issue is with the low beam of the HID.. it doesnt turn on until the battery is fully charged... but once it does, it gives me a good field of vision. Can you PM me your contact details so I can check the RR thing..

the main problem for me is not the acceleration... but top-end...
i have even tried 15t sprocket for front but with that my top-end got f**cked up. she was not even goin 110 kmph. whereas now with the stock 14t i am able to get on to 115kmph and even little above... even with 15t there was some loss in initial acceleration i was ok with it... i had a word with abhi according to him changing to zma's sprockets will be more or less same like changing to 15t in front... i don't want that....
isnt there any more way to solute out the top-end problem of our bikes...??? rather than any engine modification bacause for that i need to compromise with the reliebility.....

                • jatin bhai,
if u need to increase ur top end by sprocket alteration u'll have to sacrifice on ur initial pickup. But sprocket alteration is possible.A friend of mine used this technique to increase the top end in his shaolin by changing his rear sprocket to rx135's.iirc 42t to 36t. refer the below address. u may find it useful http://www.tidcindia.in/pdf/PocketCatalogueNEW.pdf

It isnt possible to get the Engine upgrade to zma...There are quite a lot of limitations and side effects the engine would suffer with....Better to run stock....
