    2) Is the stock air filter inject air into the engine ? or a free flow is enough (Hp ,k&n) ?

    3) Is it possible to get a stock air filter from hero honda showroom or where to locate ?

    Thanks in Advance
    hey milesh,
how are you. as abhi said that your post is quite confusing but still i will try to answer to the best of my ability.

first of all HP filter is real mess for any bike you can use k&n but then we are living in india not in a country like US where you don't find even a single piece of dirt. as abhi told that the main function of these free flow air filters is to inject more air into the engine than stock filter so as to increase on power. but then it is having one other side too. these filters are to be serviced with their own washing/recharging kits every 2.5k kms. if it's not done it won't prevent dust particles entering into the engine. which is harmful for your engine in all the ways...... the stock filters are the best possible combination of air supply and dust prevention for the bike.

second thing is installing the filter directly to carb would fetch engine make good power than installing filter in hose-pipe/ stock air filter-box. but is more harmful too. in my case i got my carb screwed as well as engine noise increased (to be more precise crank noise increased). i used hp for an year or so and k&n again for an year and half. apart from these tweeks get yourself a good tuned free flow exaust it will not only increse your throttle response but will provide engine better breath-ability and hence less heating problem.

thirdly, yes you can install stock air filter in your bike. it is available in any hero honda authorized spare part shops. or for that matter automobile spare parts shop. try google it for your city.....
and mis firing is one of the best things of cbz i personally would die for that mis-fire. very less bikes in india we have this.

    cheers
    Jatin

    • cone set issues & a mumbai g2g

My dearest cbzians i hope & assume that u guys are doing gud.. recently i found myself guilty of not visiting this forum which jatin, maxx, technician& all the other cbzians are maintaining with great initiative hats off...
the problems from the front end of my steed has brought me to you guys, had changed the front shocker springs with the ZMR springs, changed the oil seals, oil but within a couple of days whenever i went over a pothole there was this huge THUD sound from the shockups, as if there are no springs inside the shockups it contracts and almosts hits the T-stem, my question is,has the cone set gone bad due to which i am facing this thud sound??would be really greatful if u guys can share any such familiar experience & the solution for the same.
Secondly, there are many g2g"s happening in and around mumbai,if this is the case why dont we mumbai cbzians have a g2g in mumbai and maybe have a ride till lonavla & share each others experiences on the classic,i guess majority over here are not from mumbai but still we can try & have a g2g in mumbai.
My sincere apologies if the font is too dark/bright..waiting for your eager replies on the two topics above, till den live free ride hard

thanks Krishi, i am the least knowledgeable between all the names you took and i just try to shed light on somethings that i personally undertook and observed... and i suppose you missed out a one very important name abhi (id-abhilashabhi)............
probably cone set cannot be a culprit for THUD sound . may be the shocker rods are bent and so they are creating this sound.... but trust me i feel this sound a very normal for cbz's and found it common amongst i had ridden. so just visit the nearest ASC near you and consult them about it. tell them to check if the rods are not bent. (this is just a mere guess because you have already mentioned that you have changed springs, seal etc).
and the g2g part i belongs to delhi, abhi belongs to bangy, maxx belongs to pune but is currently out of the country for masters so it's just very difficult to organize a g2g.

My bad sincere apologies to abhi for missing out on his name,i rememmber now he was the first person i spoke to when my auspicious legs entered the door of this forum.. can it be the T-stem jatin?? u need to ride my steed to feel&experience the thud sound...when it goes into a pothole at 40km/hr i start reciting the gayatri mantra its dat bad, the thud sound is so pronounced&audible that people riding besides me and in front of me are shaken more than me,i guess you have a point as far as checking the rods for a bent is concerned, any idea about the cost of the rods..u guys meet up at a central location and make it to mumbai, will be thrilling to meet u guys

Yes i have changed my tires just recently, just 400kms back. I suggest go for ceat for rear and for front u can go for ceat, dunlop, mrf etc.
Specs for tires:- REAR: Ceat Veritgo (TUBELESS):2250/- with tube since i have spokes.
                FRONT: Ceat : 1800/-

First 100km handling gets difficulty but some u get used to i loved the handling.

                • Hey all this is my first post here on xbhp iv been eyeing this tread for some time now... Im planning to buy a sparingly used CBZ a 2001 model with front disk break from a friend of mine. The bike engine et all is in good condition But most of the panels are the original panels from 2001. The visor is cracked here and there but still intact. the speedometer has some issues but takometer is in working condition. The engines shine is gone and looks dull. I would like to restore the bike and would like to have some better head light fitted, basically im interested in better lighting. But i would love to keep the bike as stock as possible. Im from Mumbai so would like to get the work done here.
                  Thanks in advance.

Hi, the body panels are HH SVC BUT if u want to have a stronger headlight then u have to go for the complete change and use some other bikes fairing. This is due in capability of the cbz's visior to accomodate any other headlight assembly. I suggest u go for either dome or change to other bikes visor such as hunk (2008) as it the closet resembles of cbz's visor. Still it's ur wish. Next thing u can do is complete DC setup, follow my previous thread on DC lighting and hopefully it may enlighten u.

If u need any more do contact me.
                    Till then Cheers...

Would a 5 ah battery be sufficient for a full dc setup to support a 65watt bulb ?. The battery was recently installed. Would i be able to get the hunks visor in silver to match the CBZ s current color ? And any idea how much would re chroming the wheels cost ?

It is ok but i would sugest to go for 7 or 9ah batt, if u have self-start bike. It wil good. but if u dont have, it will do the work. But need to rewind the coil ok. Regardin the visor it is about 1500-1800INR. yes it avaliable in silver color.Enjoy the mods...
