how are you. as abhi said that your post is quite confusing but still i will try to answer to the best of my ability.

first of all HP filter is real mess for any bike you can use k&n but then we are living in india not in a country like US where you don't find even a single piece of dirt. as abhi told that the main function of these free flow air filters is to inject more air into the engine than stock filter so as to increase on power. but then it is having one other side too. these filters are to be serviced with their own washing/recharging kits every 2.5k kms. if it's not done it won't prevent dust particles entering into the engine. which is harmful for your engine in all the ways...... the stock filters are the best possible combination of air supply and dust prevention for the bike.

second thing is installing the filter directly to carb would fetch engine make good power than installing filter in hose-pipe/ stock air filter-box. but is more harmful too. in my case i got my carb screwed as well as engine noise increased (to be more precise crank noise increased). i used hp for an year or so and k&n again for an year and half. apart from these tweeks get yourself a good tuned free flow exaust it will not only increse your throttle response but will provide engine better breath-ability and hence less heating problem.

thirdly, yes you can install stock air filter in your bike. it is available in any hero honda authorized spare part shops. or for that matter automobile spare parts shop. try google it for your city.....
and mis firing is one of the best things of cbz i personally would die for that mis-fire. very less bikes in india we have this.

      cheers

      Hi Jatin

First of all sorry for the late reply i have been busy and i am fine.
Thanks for the reply and nice to meet you

And of course i know my queries been little confusing bcoz am not good at mech

you have explained everything in detail thanks !

      Couple of queries again

my cbz is been modified to monoshock and that is wat the hp filter came up bcoz of less space . These are the only mod done rest everything is stock (if you have suggestion in these are welcome i like to go for stock air filter with mono )

1 )And now i want put an HId. I think it should need rewinding and bigger battery does rewinding has and cons and pros ?

and asking every xbhpians that who knows some one doing this in cochin Kerala

2 )And its not a self start can i go for self start is it possible ? and wat all are the parts needed for the same can it be purchased from Hero dealer ?

asking every xbhpians that who knows some one doing this in cochin Kerala

And finally the cost for the above ones

      Thanks & Regards
      Milesh

But now the things have changed for all cbzians. Now u can enjoy the glorious power of dc lighting. Trust me it works.

            Minimum Requirement:

            1. Any multi-reflector clear glass headlight assembly along with its brackets for mounting. (In my case i have used Yamaha FZ headlight assembly)
            2. Replace the old 2.5amph battery in 7 amph or 9amph battery.
            3. Battery bracket of karizma.
            4. A goood wiring
            5. Ape's RR unit.

Last but not the least A GOOD COIL REWINDING.

Cost for all this in my case:
            1. FZ headlight assembly: 900/-
            2. HL bracket: 250/-
            3. Side covers for HL: 250/- each req 2 in no.
            4. Screws for cover: 45/- each (4 in number)
            5. 7amph battery(Exide): 1400/-
            6. Coil rewinding complete 10 ft with 19 gauge copper wire: 450/-
            7. Ape's RR unit starting from 600- 1250/-

            Enjoyment of Superb light: PRICELESS.

            Person to be contacted:

            Nanotechnology an xbhpian
            Mahesh coil rewinding in thane.

Get ur wiring checked for nanotechnology and then he would guide for coil rewinding info.

So get ready all cbzians to get DCfied.....

soon i wil post the wiring diagram for DC connection for cbz..

            Enjoy...
Thanks mate ! you have surely helped many a 'Super Sprinters' !!

I am too fond of the stock headlamp assembly and I am sure most of us are Are there any alternatives while keeping the stock headlamp assembly constant ?

Hi, Thanks for inspiring more to submit information on this forum. regarding ur query yes u can use DC headlight in stock headlamp but still u wont enjoy the crisp of the DC light for that u need to use a multi reflector. Even i hav changed the FZ headlamp with new multi-reflector dome headlamp from CD-Dawn deluxe which will cost around Rs.650/- max in sheryas hero showroom at walvan near u.

              • Help on Engine oil for cbz

Hi, everyone needed help on engine oil for my cbz. I req info on full synthetic oils, semi-synthetic oils and mineral based oil. Previously I hav used elf moto 4xt fully synthetic oil but got cheated by oil as it got so thin than water and oil lost its constitancy and bike suffered from heating prob and knotted in ghat region while ascending. Previously i used to ascend in 3th gear n now i ascend in 2nd gear. now i hav changed to semi-synthetic oil from castrol. My went for the piston and cylinder and clutch change just 5000kms back n i used the fully synthetic oil after i changed the piston

Pls help as soon as possible.

For the CBZ it is best to use 15W50 or 20W50 grade oil, It produces more heat & need W50 to withstand the same..

If money isn't a concern, then go for Motul 300V in 15W50 grade or go for Motul 5100 15W50, both of this are good oil & 300V would bet very well in all riding conditions & would last atleast 5k kms from my experience

                  • xW50 oil will reduce acceleration and will create lag in over all performance.Better stick to 20W40.

I have myself tried W30,W40 & W50 oils ion my CBZ for quiet a long time & considering such short stroke & vibey it is along with heat produced, I had found W50 suits her the best of all..

This is just my opinion of using the bike for around 82k kms..

Oh.icic,Then i might be wrong,Many had tried 15W50 Oil in Karizma and found that it reduces acceleration noticeably. So i thought it will be same in Cbz too.

Most probably,The oil you see will be coming from the front sprocket area,it will be the oil used for lubing chain.Remove the front sprocket cover and chain guard, and clean the chain and sprocket with Kerosene or Diesel.Lube it with bearing grease and check once more.

Poor Performance can be because of clogged airfilter, bad sparkplug condition, bad oil etc. When di you changed these things last time?

Karizma & CBZ are way too different engines.. While ZMA is relaxed & comfortable, CBZ is High revver & Ultra short stroke, harsh engine..

If it is really engine oil, then it might be coming from the Neutral switch area, I had faced the same problem due to faulty neutral switch, get it checked.. Generally it doesn't go kaput, it will either be old engine oil used for lubing the chain as Aneesh told..
