  • Hi all,

I own a 2003 classic and the odo reads 45k. 8yrs of use has taken a toll on the engine and needs a rebuild. The pickup has gone down and worsens with a pillion. I get a decent mileage of 40+ though.

Can anyone suggest me the things that i need to change? Also suggest if boring to a bigger size is ok. Can i get a power up kit for CBZ?

    I stay in Chennai.

Raring to see Sarath Kumar in the next race... (OT)

You can check with him now, I guess it must be available, If not go for ZMA bore & I think it will give about 175CC engine, I am not sure on this., you can PM Technician he has lot of knowledge in CBZ when it comes Engine Modifications..

But in all proabablities you can go for Joel's big bore head or Zma bore

& Yes as shreeni said, I have sold my bike & that does not mean I dont come here, but it is just that I dont have anything new or problems to post here now & i can only be of help to others if something that I know of.

              • Mee Toooooo.....

Hi all.. I too own a Classic CBZ 2000 Model (Silver). Brought it a year back from bangalore... No mods..completely stock.. removed the RVMs recently to ease the sprinting...feels like I need to fit it back
The Odo passed 72K...still running hard and strong... completed an engine overhaul recently at 70K..
Done a max of 125Km/hr on speedo(not sure about the actual speed) @~9.5K rpm..feels like there was still throttle remaining for another few K rpm..
last but not the least iam getting 43-45kmpl in DELHI city traffic...
The only problem iam facing is the HEADLIGHT...as somebody earlier quote in this thread - I may use the HL for a candle light dinnnner

BY all other means she is SEXY,SOLID & SPEEDY... will post some pics later..

I have CBZ Classic 2002, it's in Silver colour. I have planned for a list of works to be carried out.

                        1. Complete Paintjob and the paint is worn out- Which Colour, thinking of
                        Dark Bottle Green.
                        2. Exhaust change or any other options?
                        3. Rear tyre Change- Recommendations?
                        4. Oil Change-Planning for Synthetic(Which one)
Effort is important,Where to make one..makes all the Difference!!

                        • CBz star stock Air filter

                          Hi all Gurus,

I have couple of queries regarding Cbz star 2004 second hand

                          1) It uses a HP air filter with direct connection to the carb (The stock was replaced by the first owner ). I hear mis firing sound at the day start (cold condition) I dont know what is the cause ?

                          2) Is the stock air filter inject air into the engine ? or a free flow is enough (Hp ,k&n) ?

                          3) Is it possible to get a stock air filter from hero honda showroom or where to locate ?

                          Thanks in Advance

[B]Check the Tuning, i had done with K&N on carb for 10k kms, in my honest opinion pls get back to stock , K&N does more harm than good for the bike [B]

                            2) Is the stock air filter inject air into the engine ? or a free flow is enough (Hp ,k&n) ?

Your question is confusing, A HP or K&N gives more air to engine which in your stock settings will not be able to supply petrol to combustion, you need to do jetting

                            3) Is it possible to get a stock air filter from hero honda showroom or where to locate ?

Yes you can, do you have the Breather tube available from the previous owner, if not you will have to buy that too along with Stock air filter

                            Thanks in Advance

                            • First of all thanks for replying

                              2) Is the stock air filter inject air into the engine ? or a free flow is enough (Hp ,k&n) ?

"Your question is confusing, A HP or K&N gives more air to engine which in your stock settings will not be able to supply petrol to combustion, you need to do jetting "

I am also confused little bit about the air filter system.I am not a mech guru

I saw a quote from wikipedia tells "An air injection system injects fresh air into the exhaust port, to meet the emission norms." This made me to ask confused question

                              link :-en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hero_Honda_CBZ

also pls correct me if I am wrong

                              3) how much it will cost for stock air filter along with breather tube

                              Thanks in advance

Here are few suggestions, hope they help you
                                1. You can retain your silver color dude, silver is sexy or may be Tahitian Blue or Black. Recently i painted my babe to silver color(CHECK OUT orkut -)

                                2. I believe keep the exhaust to stock condition.

                                3. Rear Tyre Dunlop GeoCruiser 100/90-18 (Again Stock condition)

                                4. No idea regarding oil dude, you can refer to previous posts to get more help on engine oil.

                                Cheers Happy Riding
