The ghatkopar SVC is overcrowded with appointments and is located in a very congested place. However the mechanics there have more experience of servicing Ninja 250's. The Thane SVC began servicing Kawasaki's recently but is much more approacheable. However it has only one kawasaki trained mechanic so make sure he is available before going there.Originally posted by shamshuis View Post

it shouldnt be a big deal as long as decent parking space is available for the bike..multiplexes,malls..etc do have decent parking so it shouldnt be a problem..and ya i do have the new bike phobia but only for the first few weeks after the purchase

good going there. just one thing, chains have a bad habit of getting used to a particular sprocket. so the sprocket chain relationship is not is what is was before. better to ride at normal speeds for sometime before you try the high speed dash.
the suggested method is a new chain and a set of sprockets.Mountain biking on impulse with my wife and our bike goes down in water

LOL. yeah, so true.Originally posted by bluevolt View PostOh, don't worry, you will get over the new bike feeling in no time and then you will be 100% comfortable taking(and parking) it anywhere.
But that does not apply to Aditya
Its been 14 months and 13500 kms and i have never taken my bike to any mall or public parking area where the bike is away from my sight.
I only took the bike to work once and ensured she was completely covered (with a car cover to camouflage the shape and size).
ATGATT - Because hospital ceilings are boring !!!

Thanks Toolkit. I think i'll take an appointment at the Thane service centre. I too think riding to Ghatkopar is a pain.Originally posted by toolkit View PostThe ghatkopar SVC is overcrowded with appointments and is located in a very congested place. I hope the mechanic there does a good job for me.Any day is a good day with the wind on your face.

worth the wait!
After a 50 day wait...I finally got my Ninja 250R delivered on Friday. Honestly I'm quite speechless! I used to ride an avenger, which did only 4500 kms in 3.5 years. And here, I have already completed 160 kms! It's really hard to leave the bike idle :-)
Only issue (which to be honest I've completely overlooked thanks to the riding experience), is the tremendous heat liberated at lower speeds / stop-n-go traffic! My thighs were drenched in sweat (felt like they were nearly burnt!). Other than that, it's pure bliss :-) ... quite difficult to keep the revs at just 4~5k. Hoping I get done with the run-in soon. In fact, I wish the weather permits it too ! The intermittent short rains in Chennai play spoil sport!
On the whole, worth the wait! Hope to meet some fellow riders in the following days to come! For now, I'm heading out for a short ride before calling it a night :-D

Congratulations for being the owner of the best 250cc motorcycle. I wish you have many more happy miles to come.
As far as the heating issue goes dont worry about it. Its preety normal (specially for a new engine) to get heated up in traffic and at slow speeds when all you use is clutch and brake with lil bit of acceleration. It happens with my bike also which is almost nearing the 1st service.
Happy riding!!Any day is a good day with the wind on your face.

The bike is just like a drug---Very addictive
Its been 1700kms for me but I never experienced that heat factor
Off the 1700, atleast 25-30% was city riding in bumper to bumper traffic...
Were you by any chance wearing a shorts or a 3/4th ?

The heat + humidity (not unlike the April/May weather in Mumbai) make for painful city riding.
Well, the only solution really is to try and beat the traffic, you don't want to get stuck in a jam on the Ninja with the mid day sun burning down on you

Every thing has a purpose and it has to do it..Bro NINJA is for reving and riding to feel like heaven..don't board to heaven...but SBK's look good on road rather than garage or parking lot..... Do ride it to your erges....keep riding..Japanese have made it for riding it.....Originally posted by kiran_borra View PostParking Ninja at Malls/Theaters is a pure NO NO.
I haven't even dared to park the Ninja at my office... still searching for options
I finally completed the 1600mark and today went for a 100kms ride on the NH and red-lined in 1-5 gears very progressively
Mannnnn....It was MUSIC to EARS
Speed I did not concentrate much but the max I could see was around 145 on ODO
