Only issue (which to be honest I've completely overlooked thanks to the riding experience), is the tremendous heat liberated at lower speeds / stop-n-go traffic! My thighs were drenched in sweat (felt like they were nearly burnt!). Other than that, it's pure bliss :-) ... quite difficult to keep the revs at just 4~5k. Hoping I get done with the run-in soon. In fact, I wish the weather permits it too ! The intermittent short rains in Chennai play spoil sport!

On the whole, worth the wait! Hope to meet some fellow riders in the following days to come! For now, I'm heading out for a short ride before calling it a night :-D
Welcome to the Club... In 2+ months I'm almost at 3000Km and enjoying...
Heat should subside by the time of 1st service... Heat also shows up if you rev high in lower gears...

I'm sure you will have some difference in Chennai due to weather conditions as well unlike us from Bangalore.

Don't park your bike anywhere... always ride it

I don't park my bike in malls/theaters doesn't mean that I bought the bike to keep her only in my garage

Rightly said, I do that always. Whenever, I take her out, just keep on riding and when need to take rest I never leave her unattended.

Seems like BAJAJ is learning from all the complaints they are receiving across the country for the delay in providing spares for Ninja and are just playing a safe game

The bike is just like a drug---Very addictive

Its been 1700kms for me but I never experienced that heat factor
Off the 1700, atleast 25-30% was city riding in bumper to bumper traffic...
Were you by any chance wearing a shorts or a 3/4th ?

Thanks a ton guys. Appreciate the wishes :-) ...this thread has been very inspiring, informative, and reassuring about the bike's bullet proof reliability.

About the heat, honestly I was well clothed, no 3/4th, shorts...in any case, I've acclimatized to the bike now, including the heat :-) ...not an issue at all now! Done with 200kms for now...hoping to touch 1000 soon. As of now, busy painting Chennai green :-)

                              Thanks again guys :-)

                              • My Short Experience with The Mean Green..

                                Hi All,

i had the privilege of getting my hands on baby ninja on a small ride to Lonavla and back last Sunday. I would sincerely like to thank my friend SP for entrusting me with his beloved mean green demon.

Would just like to share my experience with you, mind you the reader may get bored!! :

                                1) For all those who say that Baby Ninja is difficult to maneuver in traffic: UTTER NONSENSE!!! I am a proud owner of FZ and i have to admit, Ninja was an absolute breeze to ride through Mumbai traffic. i was able to take her through the same nukkad gallis and small openings in traffic like i would do with my FZ.

                                2) For all those who say that Ninja Lacks Low end - mid range punch: Absolute Rubbish!! at times i was unknowingly doing 30kmph on 6th gear and the Ninja pulled very cleanly all the way to top without any hiccups whatsoever!

                                3) Ninja not good for long rides: Again NONSENSE!! I did more than 100 km ride without any back ache or with wrists paining. The ride position is bit sporty though but not that much to hurt your spine... for some awkard reason i felt comfortable from shifting to ninja from my FZ in an instant.. i am 5 '10 so i don't think anyone taller than me would have any issues either!!

                                4) Stability: i simply loved the confidence it gave to the rider to take on corners without sweating.. i was able to control her with ease at low and high speed runs as well!!

                                5) Ninja is subtle when you are gentle with her... But all hell breaks lose when you downshift a gear or two and let the screamer hit 6000 - 11,000 rpm.. IT SOUNDS JUST LIKE AN I4!! atleast i couldnot make out any difference of sound when i was busy putting the tacho to redline... i ended up purposely downshifting at times just to hear the sweet parallel twins screaming on top of their voice making all heads turn all the time... P.S. No rash driving and everything was attempted with proper riding gear from top to bottom..

                                6) Power is absolutely amazing and its not like uncontrollable!! for a rider like me upgrading to a 250cc was an easy task without thinking even once and i was able to do it in less than 5 mins. She was able to hit 120 kmph in a matter of secs and that too with a pillion rider... i didn't push it any further as the pillion rider was scared to death.. for the baby ninja... it was effortless to hit that figure!! simply amazing...

I haven't had a chance to test the CEEBEER 250R yet but i must say to all those who say that Ninja is no match to a CBR.. please think again.. it is a different animal all together!! it changed my view in matter of minutes and for the price it is totally worth it... and ofcourse i was loving every moment of the unwanted poser value where people would inadvertently end up asking the universal indian question " Kitne Ka hain, Kitna Deti Hain??" ( How much is it for, how much mileage does it give??) Iam sure all ninja riders must be used to it by now!!

                                Cheers
