Try searching on eBay. Sometimes sellers from Asia advertise their products and shipping wont be as expensive.Originally posted by GuRpReEt SiNgH View PostDoes anyone of you have any idea about procuring a similar relay (that works) in India? or, Any other valuable suggestion?

your problem may have to do with engine oil. is the oil level indicating okay ? bad oil filter / clogged oil filter / oil pump/ bad quality engine oil also/ check it out at pbk.Originally posted by firen View PostThanks dude. But the engine strain issue has been there even before the ride in the rain. In anycase will get it checked.
I have already had 2 engine oil and oil filter change till now(ODO is at 1700)
. The vibes are really high on the gear shift lever, definitely need to get it checked.Mountain biking on impulse with my wife and our bike goes down in water

Guys, I have a question and it has been bothering me for a while.
The manual says - "Do not start moving or race the engine immediately after starting it, even if the engine is already warm. Run the engine for 2 or 3 minutes at idle speed to give the oil a chance to work up into all the engine parts."
Now this is fine, and I do this on cold-starts. However, this does not seem feasible all the time - for example, if I am at a traffic signal and want to turn the bike off, to save fuel and also to avoid over-heating or if I make a quick stop to pick up something from a store etc. Sometimes it even looks a little stupid to just start the bike and wait for 2 minutes sitting on it without anything else to do. I mean its ok at home or in the office parking etc. but not out on the street. I have tried to buy time after starting by fidgeting with my helmet, trying to groom my hair etc.
but can't do that always.
The manual also says "Do not let the engine idle for more than five minutes, or engine overheating and damage may occur".
How do you guys manage such short stops? Is it prudent to keep the engine running if the stop is for say 1-2 minutes? What about longer, 5-7 minute stops? Is it absolutely required to idle the engine for 2-3 minutes even if it is warm, say bike was turned off 10 minutes ago after riding for 30 minutes? Looking for some general guidelines and tips.

Congrats Ananth & shamshuis
I do give the bike around 3-4 mins for cold start.....Originally posted by ditto View PostGuys, I have a question and it has been bothering me for a while.

Not the exact time but until the rpm settles down from 2 when started.
If the engine is already warm and you are between traffic its not a feasible option
If the engine is not warm enough the rpm will raise upto 2rpm or so which is itself an indication to hold on until it comes down to normal idling

^^^ There is a complete kit available from Koso for conversion to LCD instrumentation which includes an adapter board, wiring harness, water temp sensor, oil temp sensor, and the works... the only issue is that it seems to have been designed for the carburetor version and not the FI, so how well it will work with the N250 over here...Only a biker knows why a dog sticks his head out of a car window.

THe ZMA brake pads cost me 1200 (without a bill and it was not available at the Hero Honda service centre too)Originally posted by Hyperion View PostNot sure about the reason, could be the brake pad mismatch.
How much did the ZMA pads cost you?
You could have tried that Goldfren(?) brake pads available at DSG. They are Ninja spec and cost only Rs.300 more. The distributor says they last 3 times longer than the stock.
Google says really bad things on Gold fren..so am not sure whether i should go for it!
I was just thinking aloud..The pads are similar to the Ninja in terms of fit..and its a close fit as well.Originally posted by vkuchhal View PostThis reason might be because of the brake pads misfit.
What do you mean when you say that the distance between pads is high??
It pads should always be closely sticking to the metal plate. i got this confirmed with prasanna.
Level travel could not have increased.. IMHO that is the only case incase of drum brakes. may be not with the disk brakes. OR can be a wrong fitting problem.
Probably i would put my rear pads in the front to see if its a disc pad problem. If the rear ones can restore the killer bite, i would blame it on the ZMA pads otherwise i need to get my disc assembly checked!

I used the Karizma for quite a while....HH used to give NISSIN pads for the Zma and they used to work amazingly.Originally posted by JAKRAP View PostTHe ZMA brake pads cost me 1200 (without a bill and it was not available at the Hero Honda service centre too)

Recently they started giving disc pads from a local supplier (can't remember the brand) which weren't good even on my Karizma
So I sense its a HH pad quality issue
The Nissin Brake pads for ZMA used to cost almost 2k+ (2.4k I suppose)
