Yea you're right. But would we be able to find a significant difference between the tank colour and the side fairing after the paint? yeah Black is like the easiest colour. But then I won't be getting the look of an original side fairing right?Originally posted by Sarvajit View Post
Yep bro, Many told me. But there is one problem. Since TVS have stopped the production of Jive I should opt for something else like the G150.! Anyways thanks a lot man.Originally posted by Krish1417 View Post

So if the pbk want me to change everything.
this is what I would go for. Its very expensive but then I felt since it changes everything its worth the money.

Ninja has two variants in black. One is 'normal' black and another metallic. If it is metallic, better get it replaced than paint it over.Originally posted by Sarvajit View PostAFA indicators are concerned, Caliber's are a straight fit-read the post by psr long back.
What I'm saying about the fairing damages is: If they are not cracked, a paint job should do it instead of replacing at PBK. Black is the easiest color to do up, moreover I think Ninja's black is non-metallic, which makes it all the more simple. A coat of paint topped up with a clear coat (lacquer) spray will make the fairing look new again!

Whether it is metallic or non-metallic, if the shade is matched well (computer), it will look as good as or even better than the tank. Only keep in mind that a layer of clear coat is a must for the paint to get the showroom finish&sheen.
I have enough experience with painting my cars&bikes so can say this safely.
However, I don't think plastic welding will last long so replace only the parts that are cracked. Others don't waste money-just find a good cheap painter.

By law, you can use your KA registered bike in anywhere outside KA for 30days after which you have to pay roadtax.Originally posted by asheshambasta View PostThanks a ton for replying guys!
The slips from bunks in Bangalore can be used in Delhi as proof that you haven't crossed the 30days limit.
Delhi's under heavy CCTV supervision. Juz be carefull about that. But again, the SBK population in Delhi is increasing by the day and atleast half are Mumbai registered. So chill!__________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ _______

One short note to add to this :Originally posted by maheshkmr View PostI think claiming insurance is the good way because you will get money for replacements and fairing repair.
Keep in mind that you would be losing the No Claims bonus for next year premium. Also 'Own Damage' premium would also increase. Add these two amounts to the amount you have to shell out of your own pocket for repairs (amount that is not covered by insurance).
If this total is crossing the amount covered by insurance company, DO NOT make claim.
Originally posted by rkum4881 View PostOhh.. never knew that. Will try them. But these oriental insurance guys are just sad man.
None of the customer service staff can talk proper English. Very pathetic! I heard reliance have some good motorcycle insurance policy. Should opt for it next time
All insurance companies are the same when it comes to claims. Also I believe that knowledge of English is less important than willingness to help a customer at the time of his claim.Never argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and then beat you with experience.

PBK guys can fix this but this depends on your personal equation with them. This is not an official job and officially they are not required to do it.Originally posted by rkum4881 View PostAnd also I saw these LED tail lights with integrated Turn signals Integrated LED TailLight Turn Signals Kawasaki Ninja 250R EX250 2008-2012 Smoke | eBay will the pbk guys here be able to fix this?Never argue with an idiot. JT 520 Front Countershaft Sprocket - Street Bike - Motorcycle Superstore
I've got a JT front sprocket with one extra tooth. To my surprise, there is almost no change in where the rear wheel is mounted according to the chain adjustment indicators. There might be a significant difference if you order a rear sprocket of a different size. When in doubt, drop teeth off the rear if you want to lengthen gearing, and drop one off the front (and maybe compensate with a drop of one or two at the rear if you only want a small change) if you want shorter gearing. This should ensure you don't need more links than already present in your stock chain. You can always drop links from the chain if it turns out to be too long for you.

Acquired NInja..!
Hey guys,
FINALLY after a lot of waiting,I got my Ninja 250r delivered today!.
I do have a few queries
1.I already know that a substantial discussion has taken place about the run in.But I want to know exactly what short bursts of throtte means.Till what rpm must it be revved and at what gear before coming back to 4k?
2.The gear did feel a little clunky.
From neutral when i slot it to first, sometimes the gear doesnt engage properly. Then when i rev a little bit it comes back to neutral again....?
3.Is someone here using any alternative brand of alarm disc locks other than xena?.Xena xx6 is priced at 9k in ebay which i feel is too expensive. Are any cheaper options available which can be bought here?
Looking forward to sharing more ownership experience with you guys

Manufacturer recommended run in procedure is, in first 800 kms keep revs under 4k rpm and next 800 kms its under 6 k rpm. Don't ride constantly in same gear and rpm, change gears and vary rpm time to time. About short bursts, are you reffering to Motoman or any other performance oriented run in procedure? If yes, I believe sticking into the manufacturer's run-in procedure is ideal because they know their engines bette rthan anyone. Motoman may help to add a little more power if done properly but there is a great risk of permanent engine damage because it is easier to over do or wrongly do. Mostly motoman's procedure are useful for highly powerful track bikes, in which case they only want power and if it fails they will throw it and buy another bike. For normal road usage and for a balance between power, fuel efficiency and reliability sticking to the manufacturer's recommended run-in procedure would be the best bet I think.
2.The gear did feel a little clunky.
From neutral when i slot it to first, sometimes the gear doesnt engage properly. Then when i rev a little bit it comes back to neutral again....?
This is because of the engine is new. Give some more time, after you first service it will be precise. Also you need to familiar with the ninja's gearbox too and it will happened with more usage.

No idea because never used them. There are lot of experienced people here and they will guide you soon.

Thanks for your reply.Originally posted by maheshkmr View PostWelcome to the Ninja club

Regarding the run in,No i wasnt referring to the Motoman's method.
Went on a 200km ride today.
Maintained it below 5k rpm most of the time with occasional bursts to 80kmph,a couple of times to 100,and one time coudnt control myself and touched 120,to overtake some annoying traffic, but got it down to 4k immediately after that.
Should I go easier on the throttle or is it fine?
And the gear issue seems to have sorted out
RIde safe.
