Hello guys,
In recent days my bike was getting heated quickly and could notice large loss of power along with a noise from engine also a low FE (as low as 29).When I kept the bike for service the ASC guys said clutch plate is gone and costs 1600 .Now since my bike has clocked just 28000km ,can it be a reason,I mean so early clutch wear?.

Also,I had got the cam shaft replaced around 10k km back and now again same SVC is saying it needs to be changed again. Are the quality of hero parts going down?.
Between mine is 2011 Nov manufactured bike with 28k on odo.

28k, hmm... Depends upon the riding style and traffic conditions. Do you ride in heavy traffic with a pillion on board often?
Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

But the price difference is double ! Old ones cost about 1000rs whereas new type cost 1900-2000rs. This price was orally told, so don't have exact figures.

Even I need to change them in another 1000~2000kms.
Better go for the stock chain set..

Mech says clutch plates are worn out. But my bike does 80kmph at 5000rpm. Which is ditto for all other zmrs.. Does it still mean clutch plates are worn out?

Does it take longer than before to reach 80? Do the gears slip at times? Burning smell often?

If at 5,000 Rpm the speedo comes upto 80 Kmph slowly, and with a pillion the RPM rises to 5,000 RPM but speedo takes time( about a minute) to reach 80 Kmph then there is clutch slip....otherwise you don't have clutch problem.....

No sir, such things do not happen. It comes to 80 at the same time when rpm goes to 5000.
I've seen a drop in acceleration. Divya Sharan, no bro, no burning smell.

Out of the above i guess its the spark plug. I've changed it only once in 50000 kms. I guess am using it for about 20-25000 kms. Would it cause a drop in acceleration?

As the plug is getting used the spark slowly erodes the Electrodes making the gap larger...initially it may seem like better acceleration and grunt, but soon the gap becomes more and causes performance problems...if you have Champion plugs, then surely there will be problem..Try and get NGK . since they are the best...Try to source a plug cap without resister to improve performance..All ZMA and ZMR comes with resister in Cap and Resister in Spark Plug. It is enough to have One resister to decrease EMI and having Two actually decreases spark energy.

P.S. If you want Plug Cap without resister, I can source and send it by Courier to you...

But sir, there would be a reason why the company provides with two rite? Would it not cause any harm in installing a plug without resistor?
Just curious.
Btw, your advices have been working great on my bike till now!
